Booked a birthday party here and I was beyond impressed with the value, level of service, and care of the animals. Firstly, the party area was much bigger than the pictures online and there were so many things for the kids to do and play with- they had a blast. We had about 30 kids and 30 adults, with a face painter, and there was still plenty of room to mingle. The staff were very helpful and told us fun facts about the animals. The pony rides were actually beautiful horses that were led freely around the trail. They even brought out a bigger horse for the teenagers to ride, free of charge, which was super cool. Everyone had a wonderful time and the parents told me that they are definitely looking forward to coming back. Thank you! read more

To me, a * * * Three Star A-OK rating is a good one, not a knock on a business, where anything above that necessitates something above and beyond expectations or the average and anything less is prompted by a negative experience or something that needs improvement where it falls below their peer competitors dramatically. So, with that, I'd say the Peter Weber Equestrian Center is a nice place for the right person, depending what your needs and expectations are. There's an opportunity for children to engage with real live animals like a turtle, rabbit, goat, alpaca, donkey, pony, rooster, hen, horses, and cows. You can even touch and feed some of the animals. There's a Hay Ride which takes you around the facilities and touring the terrain, which is nice enough and cheap enough of an experience. Beyond those 2 aspects, I'm sure there's more for folks of all ages and interests for the Equestrian aspect with horse riding and training. If you know your child has a fear of animals, don't think they'll overcome it here. The animals are super friendly, laid back, tame and not at all aggressive, but if their mere presence scares your child, then this is not the place for them. However, if your child loves animals, it's a good place with a friendly farm and good atmosphere to introduce young children to real animals who are domesticated to the point where you feel really really safe. Parking was rather easy in the private lot area. It's a bit of a drive from the base of the South Bay up to Palos Verdes, but that goes for any business or destination up in the RPV area, where it can be like 20+ mins of inland driving from the Beach Cities. We had the worst experience being at this center Friday afternoon. Let me tell you all, this girl with or without intentions, she wet me (my back) & my 2 year old daughters FACE with the water hose! Like what in the world!?! What parent wouldn't be pissed off about that?? My question is , What kind of business is this that let's RUDE people get away with those clumsy actions?!? It's NOT professional and it's not safe for the public. Also how can the trainee lose control of the dumb water hose? Seriously, Look at the pic!! Why couldn't she point the hose somewhere else!? It just coincidently wet us? As you can see, I'm a distance from that girl and she wet me and my poor two year old daughter whom I was carrying. 2 mins before I took this picture I took a picture of me and my daughter next to a horse. Out of nowhere we both got splashed wet! Why? Unintentionally? Nah. I'm warning all of you parents to be carful with your children going here! My experience was my experience and yours may be different. But I'm just giving you an awareness of this rude girl who didn't seem sorry about splashing water from the water hose at me and my daughter. Psh she threw a peace sign on the second pic. I'm a local equine veterinarian and I board my horse here. That should speak for itself. Pros: outstanding access to trails including the all weather former landfill site. Cons: limited stable access hours can be tough especially during the hot summer months when you seek to ride in the cooler early morning or late evening. Arenas are sometimes crowded and reserved for exclusive use. Horse care: Outstanding. Management is responsive to concerns. read more

Fantastic private petting farm experience! Clean, well cared for animals including rescue bunnies, mini horse, goats, a potbelly pig, donkey and alpacas. All are friendly and fun to pet, brush and feed. Sitting in the bunny corral being surrounded by soft friendly bunnies is every kids dream come true! They also do pony rides but not on the day we went. Still, the experience more than satisfied our three, four and five year old. Solid family fun - great for a birthday party too. I wanted to take my daughter to petting zoo for her first birthday. My husband and I called on speaker to see if we could book. The lady who answered the phone was rude. The minute we mentioned petting zoo she quickly responded that they aren't taking any bookings until September without asking us when we were interested. She was in a hurry to get us off the phone. We pushed in that we are interested for a specific date in September. In a sassy tone exclaimed that they already have so many parties and they don't do petting zoo on Saturdays which I didn't see anywhere on the website. We could've been flexible and booked for a weekday but she was just so rude and we felt unwelcome so we went in a different direction. read more

My daughter loves riding the horse. My sister in law found this place and invited us to come and join. Since they were going to share one horse, each got to ride the horse for 10 mins each. For 30 mins, it was $50. Each one was enjoying themselves and having lots of fun. While each one was riding, they also have a few farm animals and other horses. We also talk to couple other riders about how they got into riding and their horses. Net time, we will have to think about summer camp for my child. She will really enjoy it. read more

Great place to learn to ride for beginners. Definitely not perfect for equestrians though. If you are a new rider who wants to start their horse career in a great environment, this is for you! It's a great place, it's not exactly where it's all one company and the horses are lesson horses and everyone works for the company, in fact it's better. You sign up for someone who boards their horse there or someone who works for Peter Weber, or someone who works their company. Maverick farms is there too and that's also great, but for more experienced riders perhaps have already trained at Peter Weber. The horses are truly treated like royalty with very caring owners and all horses are in top condition and the stables are spacious and beautiful the horses are provided everything they need and are visited everyday and fed well and great exercise, even having people come and give them "massages". This is not only for riding but for riders who came to have fun and not to be so serious as their is mini ponies and barn animals. You get to learn everything about horses, catching them from pasture, grooming tacking and riding. Trail riding here is also fun! No matter what you do, you'll have a great experience here read more

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the professionalism and expertise shown by Chantal and her team at Peter Weber. We weren't sure how we were going to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday safely, but she had always wanted to ride a horse, so we took a chance and booked a one hour ride for 3. It was absolutely perfect--not only Covid-safe, but also very kid-friendly. My husband had a bad experience on a horse as a child, so he was nervous about riding again, but they set his mind at ease and put him on a very safe horse. The team obviously works with a lot of kids, because they knew exactly what to say to my little one to ensure she was excited and not at all worried about her safety. If you're looking for a great socially-distanced, special-occasion experience, look no further! We are so looking forward to joining Summer Camp when restrictions are lifted. read more

We had our daughters 7th birthday at this Equestrian Center and had an absolute wonderful time, and it was very affordable. The nice lady who runs the equestrian center can keep those wild little boys that come to parties in check. they have soo many friendly animals (like the alpakas she gives kisses) the chickens that like to be held, the bunnies that like to be fed. Goats that get to be painted , huge turtles, pigs, horses. she gives horseback rides and haybail rides it was just a great time we all loved it we couldn't stop talking about. What I likes most was how clean and nice the party area was laid out. After the kids played with and learned about the different animals we were Able to wash up and celebrate for our party. We started taking our grandson here (age3) last year to ride a pony and play with the animals. His fourth birthday party was held here last weekend. It was amazing. The staff as always were wonderful and the kids (20) had such a good time. They really go all out for a party and it could not have been better. All the children had such fun with the animals, activities, and riding the pony. As a boarder and customer of their pony camps, birthday parties, and pony camps I can honestly say to save your money and choose somewhere else. This place has the absolute worst customer service and care. They just simply do not care unless you are liked by them right off the bat. They also had me waiting on a waiting list for a stall for around six months. My friend was able to get one in two weeks after joining the waitlist after me. After getting in and seeing these outlandish business practices, I definitely should not have waited and just paid more for another barn near by. read more

I came here for a birthday party and they rented out the petting farm.... a really, really nice petting farm. You get to touch a bunch of farm animals and you also get a tractor ride across the entire center. Kids had a lot of fun and got to experience something new. read more

They do not value their boarders, nor put their needs first. The year-round pony camps they bring in cause the managers to monopolize all the arenas and turnouts, not to mention the anxiety of having very small children running a muck while 100 boarders struggle to keep their horses working. The management is absolutely horrendous, they are very gossipy and spread rumors about the health of boarders' horses causing them to spread throughout the hill. We as owners also felt pressured by the management to use their vet for our horse instead of our own trusted vet, which ultimately resulted in misdiagnosing the horse. DON'T BOARD THERE!!!! TRUST me I am saving you a lot of emotional and mental trauma. read more

Wonderful for a party! Amazing summer camp. We love Peter Weber. We had the easiest and funnest 3rd birthday for our daughter. Kids up to 12 had a blast with all the animals, pony and hay rides. All the tables were setup and decorated beautifully. Our daughter loved it so much we signed her up for 2 weeks of pony camp this summer. She absolutely loves it and is learning a lot as well. The staff are all knowledgeable, attentive and sweet. You can tell all the animals are well cared for and live a wonderful life at Peter Weber too. read more

I went to a birthday party yesterday, I was walking toward the birthday area while I was holding my 2 years old daughter and my present with the same hand. I was decorating my present with a balloon and the balloon was exactly in front of my daughter's face hanging with a ribbon. Suddenly a blonde middle aged woman run to me and grabbed the balloon with her hands with out any notice (while the present was still in my hand ) and started pulling off the balloon from my present while she was yelling " Balloon is not allowed in here". When she couldn't separated the Balloon from my gift she squeezed the balloon with her nails and popped it in front of my 2 years old baby's face and she run back inside. I shocked and My daughter scared and cried for about 15 minutes. The lady was very rude and unprofessional and she didn't respect my privacy. Even she didn't give me a chance to take off the balloon from my gift myself without damaging it and not scaring my baby. Also there was a risk that she hurt the eyes of my 2 years old baby with her long and sharp nails. Even after that when I went inside the party area, I tried to talk to her and explain her rude behavior and mentioned to her please next time do not try to pop a balloon with your nail while it is close to a kid's face, she yelled at me and responded very impolitely and said" There is not gonna be next time for you guys". She scared my daughter a lot, even she woke up in the middle of the night and cried for the balloon and asked me why that lady popped her balloon like that. Although it is a nice place to have a birthday party but unfortunately the management and staff treat the guest very impolitely. I don't recommend this place. read more

We added the pony ride option which was also a huge hit with the kiddos. All the tables are set for the party so you only have to bring in the food/cake. I cannot say enough about the wonderful time we had celebrating our daughter's 4th birthday at the Peter Weber Equestrian Center! Thank you to the fantastic staff who cared about the kids and spent time with each of them. I couldn't have imagined a better, happier celebration. The ponies were perfect and the bunnies and really great petting zoo were way above expectations. A cute setting / backdrop for a children's party, and a very kind, knowledgeable staff. We went here for a party over the weekend. It was a really great space. They have a wonderful setup for a party right next to the petting zoo so the kids can come in and out as they please. They also keep it very clean. Overall I was impressed and would recommend. However, there were two things that really bothered me that I hope the owners will consider for future parties. It was a party for toddlers (most were under 4) and there were alpacas in the petting area. Parents were told not to let the kids touch the alpacas anywhere but the neck or they would kick. None of these children could reach the necks of the alpacas so we spent the entire time chasing our child around to make sure he didn't accidentally touch the alpaca in the wrong place and get kicked. Just place the alpacas somewhere else for parties with mostly little ones please. The other thing that drove me insane was that the girl who was responsible for letting people in and out of the petting zoo was on her cell phone the entire time (shocker) and at one point I caught her look at the other boy working and roll her eyes when she had to get off her phone to let my husband and son into the petting area. This girl must be related to the owner cause I certainly wouldn't put up with that if I was paying her. Also, if I was paying to host a party there I would be really upset by this behavior and lack of professionalism. read more

We found this stable to be very overpriced, from the horse boarding to the kids parties. The whole stable is very rundown, dirty and very dusty. Not sure why anyone would want to keep a horse there, or bring a kids party there, the flies are really bad !! read more

My grandchildren ages 4 and 6 recently attended a week-long pony camp and junior ranch hand camp. Neither had ridden horses previously. The program provided real instruction in basic horsemanship skills, and the children learned a lot about horses and how to ride them. The facility, as a working stable, always has a lot of activity and a lot of different horses to look at. The petting zoo has an amazing diversity of very interesting animals, and is immaculate. The staff was very attentive, and it was obvious that safety was emphasized. The craft projects were horse-related, and added to the students' knowledge of horses. My child signed up for the Jr ranch hand. I feel it was not worth the money. Most of the time the children looked bored standing around and didn't know what to do next. The male workers were staring at their phones most of the time. Everyday they would start 5 or more minutes late and end the same way. Seemed very unorganized. My daughter cried after the 2nd day that she didn't want to go back but I talked her into finishing what she started. Definitely wouldn't recomend. read more
