Last summer was the first year that my son attended this camp. A good friend of mine recommended it…read moreto me since my son loves doing interactive experiments and seeing how things work. Without knowing anything about the camp and going just based on my friend's rec, I signed my (then) 6 year old son for all 4 themed weeks. The first day, I asked him how his day was and his response was, "I love Galileo!" This continued on until the last day of camp. He loved it so much that he made me promise I would sign him up again the following year. Throughout the school year, I kid you not, he would randomly ask me when I would sign him up for Galileo. Once, January came around, I had no excuse, I signed him up and we are all set for the summer! He is so excited and the fact that this year, it'll be at Montemalaga Elem will make the commute much more easier! I loved how all the teachers and staff were so attentive and always interacting with the children. Even at morning drop off, it would be strange if you didn't see someone dressed up in a funny costume to welcome your little ones and take them over the thresh hold into the magical land of Galileo (it was actually an alley with paper streamers...but the kids loved it)! Each week they would work on a theme and continue working on it, until Friday-the day the kids present all their hard work and show it off to the parents. Prepare to go to pick up on Fridays with an empty trunk. You'll definitely need all the space to take home the towers and models they've built! My son loved it and if he's begging me to sign him up all school year long... Galileo is doing something right! You won't be disappoint!

My older son attended this camp last summer -- he loved it!! We'll be doing it again this summer,…read moreand here's why: 1. This is the only camp he has ever asked to add a week. 2. The staff are very professional -- not a bunch of teenagers pretending to know how to interact with kids. 3. Every morning the kids enter the camp in such a fun, positive way -- starts the day off right. 4. The kids get to do art, science/engineering, and physical activities, and they get to work on their projects the whole week, then present them on Friday. They feel very good about their projects! Thanks, Galileo!

This is a great class to introduce your kids to coding. It's a belt system so once they progress to…read morethe next level, they earn the next color belt, similar to taekwondo. My daughter started out at age 6 in their junior program and she loves coming here! Out of all her extracurriculars, this is her favorite. She always has a lot of fun and she has learned a lot in the last year. They have different packages to suit your preferences whether it's coming once a week or more. They also have a STEM room for the kids to do fun science experiments. The monthly fee also includes Girls in STEM which is every other week, a weekly math club, Jr Stem Club every other week, among many other fun events. The best part about the coding class is that you can just drop in any time during their open hours so it's very flexible according to your schedule. The teachers (senseis) here are very nice, patient, and good with teaching young kids. They also update us on what our child has been working on. The manager, Randy is friendly and does an excellent job running this place! Their lobby has a seating area where you can wait while sipping free coffee from their Keurig. Overall, the facility is kept clean and maintained well. They do summer camps, spring break camps, and birthday parties as well. We actually tried out the Torrance one first since that one is a little closer to us but we ended up choosing this one in PV because of the bigger space, more programs, and overall friendlier vibes. So glad we found this place!

I cannot BELIEVE I didn't leave a review for this gem of a place! So my husband actually found this…read moreplace and suggested it for our daughter's 6th birthday. I contacted the owners, Terri and Sarah, and they were so incredibly gracious! They invited me over to check out the space. I really like the layout of this art studio because it's divided into different sections/rooms. One room would be where the kids do their sketching, and then another room is where the kids would take their sketching to go paint. The third room is where you can put all the food for your party and they have an awesome patio area that's right next to the food room where parents can also hang out while the kids can sketch and paint for the instructor in the other rooms. There were 19 kids total and it was so nice not to have the parents stand behind their kiddos the entire time to watch them paint because there's no where to go!! All of the parents told me they had NO IDEA this place existed. Because it's on Artesia , which is quite a busy street that people take to get from one place to the next it's really not the kind of place that people stroll around on. Sarah and Terri will work with you on what kind of theme/ sketch to guide the kids. It was an amazing party! Everyone loved it! And my daughter said it was the best birthday ever! Yay! Success! If you're planning a birthday for your little one! BOOK THIS PLACE!!! Cheers!!

My son, aged 5 (who I was worried wouldn't be able to sit still), learnt so much about different artistic methods. SBAD focus on a different topic/theme each day so the children have plenty of time to be creative and really think about what they would like to make. My daughter, aged 7 loved going each day and came home with some stunning pieces of art. She also LOVED the teachers who are not only skilled artistically, but are genuinely kind people who make all the children feel welcome and at home. This is the only camp (ever!) that my son and daughter have attended and been very grumpy that I only booked one week! Needless to say, we will be returning for the Thanksgiving camp!
