I have Been with this surgery for at least 40 years. When Dr Bailey ran this practice the care was…read morebrilliant. What a change it is today and the receptionist are so poor and do not do there jobs correctly and are rude, so you end up being rude back to them. Im done with this practice as I've been very ill all year, they didn't request the right tests to be taken at hospital etc even though I told them I had been to Dominican republic in March 2024. I have been in terrible pain and very unwell and unable to work. It has taken until Nobvember to have tests at Addenbrooks hospital who have been brilliant, I have been diagnosed with longbterm chikungunya which is a mosquito borne disease. Addenbrooks wrote a letter to the surgery telling them I needed to carry 2 epi pens at all times and strong antihistamines with me. I heard nothing until I contact the surgery and said oh yes I can see the letter but done nothing about it. So i said can we get it sorted please, a wek later I receive a text from boots saying my prescription is ready, just rhe antihistamines and no epi pens where there. I contacted orchard house spoke to receptionist who was rude and very unhelpful saying did I request the epi pen I said yes last week and you have the letter from Addenbrooks hospital with the request, so she started talking over me and said I need to put a request in writing for medication but hang on I have received the antihistamines and this wasn't said last week by the receptionist. I said I want to make a complaint to the manager and was told to do this in writing which I will do later to day. If I have a replace and can't breath I will be seeing the practice and the very unprofessional receptionist. I will not be going to this surgery in the future as it's not the 1st time I've had poor treatment, especially feom Dr Holland with my back problems and mri scan.

I have been registered at Orchard House surgery for around 8 years now…read more This is a big practise, with around 10 doctors and 4 nurses rooms. Its all on one floor, and the reception area is very quiet and laid back, and is well looked after. There is a small play area to keep children occupied while waiting. Doctors rooms are split into two different corridors. Waiting times can be very long, my longest was a 25 minute wait after my appointment time. They recently installed a new telephone system, which is rubbish, as you can only get an appointment for at least a week later, so its better to just hold and speak to a receptionist. The doctors are highly professional, and are great at their jobs. The nurses run regular clinics, including a quit smoking and asthma ones.
