To say we are disappointed with Diablo's services is an understatement. We are angry, frustrated, and extremely annoyed. When my mom fell last summer and broke her knee, she required PT for her gait, hips, and recovery. We were referred to Diablo in Menlo Park. We were anxious to get her into a routine with a good therapist to get her back on her feet. Instead, we could barely get an appointment. We were constantly told they were understaffed. On top of that, we had to switch therapists because the first one she saw was rude and seemed completely exhausted with her job. Front desk staff promised to call us with cancellations but never did. My mom would go weeks without PT, even though her doctor's referral specifically ordered sessions two times per week. We are not high-maintenance people. We tried to be patient and understanding about the staffing shortages. However, after talking with others, I realized this business seems to prefer clients who pay out of pocket over those using Medicare. We felt completely pushed off. I have never seen such a cold, unfriendly, and unaccommodating business. It is truly sad. After eight months of putting up with Diablo, we finally switched to Star Physical Therapy in Redwood City. They have been fabulous! We have no problem getting appointments. They text us immediately if there is a cancellation, and they send regular text and email reminders. Shame on us for not doing this sooner. The environment at Star is warm and inviting, with great music playing. All of the therapists are upbeat and genuinely care. They even help walk my mom to the car and offer heating treatments when she is in discomfort. They also have much more equipment than Diablo. While it is frustrating that we aren't further along a year after her fall, we are so grateful we found Star. My mom actually looks forward to going to PT now.

When setbacks occurred, his ability to pivot and adjust tactics was spot on. Additionally, Brian was a pleasure to work with for the strength training portion of my rehab. At that point, I felt uncomfortable giving that much personal information just to find out whether they accepted my insurance, so I went backwards on the form and did not submit it as I didn't want to keep giving personal information. I closed out of the page. What concerned me was that Luna apparently retained the information I had entered anyway. Even though I never completed or submitted the form, I received an email, text messages, and a phone call the next day. Their email said they noticed I had "started booking" and encouraged me to "resume booking," while their text said they were contacting me to schedule my in-home physical therapist and a patient registration call asked me to call back. I eventually had to unsubscribe from the email. I later contacted Luna directly because all I wanted to know was whether they accepted my insurance. I was told they couldn't tell me without creating a profile for me and collecting my personal information including DOB etc . That felt like far too much information to provide just to find out whether they participate with a particular insurance plan. The person I spoke with on the phone was also rude, so it made me hesitant and I decided not to use Luna. My biggest concern was that information I entered into an unfinished form appeared to be retained and used to contact me even though I intentionally backed out and never submitted the form. I did not expect starting an online form without completing it to result in emails, text messages, and a phone calls. The experience made me uncomfortable providing Luna with any additional personal or health information. This review is not for their PT but instead their whole booking and marketing process

This might have spelled disaster, but in a matter of weeks, Joe was able to not only get it functioning but also educate me on possible root causes and fixes. Our family came to this hospice when my father was admitted for comfort care for three weeks. This…read morewas one of the most emotional and vulnerable times of our lives. There were a few nurses who were truly compassionate -- they hugged us, reassured us, and made it clear that my father's comfort mattered. Those moments meant more to us than they will ever know. However, there were also nurses whose approach felt cold and dismissive. One nurse was so blunt that he didn't even finish feeding my father because it was taking him too long to chew. In a place meant for comfort and dignity, moments like that were deeply painful to witness. The facility itself could also use more nurturing care. The environment felt in need of better cleanliness and attention, which is especially important in a setting where families are already carrying so much emotional weight. Sadly, my father passed away. I do want to acknowledge one nurse on the third floor who stood out beyond words. From my very first visit, which was incredibly emotional she assured me she would take the best care of my father, and I believed her. Her compassion, warmth, and humanity brought comfort to our family during the hardest days of our lives. I saw her again recently and couldn't help but hug her. If you are reading this, please know you are truly an angel. I only wish I had remembered your name. May God bless you with love, peace, and happiness. Hospice care should be built on patience, kindness, and dignity. I hope this facility reflects deeply on the care it provides, because families will remember these moments forever.
