Home Heating is the clown car of customer service you've been searching for. I'm a disabled vet. I didn't ask for a mansion. I didn't ask for gold-plated vents. I asked for a repair. A simple, honest fix for my A/C during a brutal summer. But these vultures saw an opportunity to upsell me into a $11,000 furnace and A/C replacement instead. Because nothing says "thank you for your service" like trying to fleece someone barely holding it together in 90-degree heat. Enter Joe Ludwig, the human equivalent of a shrug in a cheap polo shirt. His role? Apparently, to act like I'm crazy for not kissing their boots while they slow-walked my suffering. Snippy tone? Check. Condescension? You bet. Gaslighting? Like he read the manual and annotated it himself. And when I pushed back? "You're imagining it." Oh, am I? They had the audacity, the unfiltered gall, to tell me they were "doing me a favor." A favor that never actually happened. A favor that cost zero repairs, zero installs, and two months of literal misery. If that's a favor, then mugging someone and complimenting their wallet is customer appreciation. Here's the truth: this is what happens when big companies get drunk on their own importance. They forget the customer, they forget the job, and they definitely forget their dignity. Want HVAC work? Hire an independent tech who doesn't think you're just a walking invoice. Volunteered to drive to Menard's to get parts and pay for them, with homeowner reimbursement. Took homeowner's suggestion on making the door more stable in high wind by adding a second hydraulic door closer at bottom of door. At Menard's Tyler bought necessary parts to install both door closers and provided homeowner with store receipt. Returned promptly from store and completed the work. Invited homeowner to inspect completed project and determine if parts installation and door function were done properly and if the door worked well. Door works great! Tyler then provided statement of parts and labor and total project cost. Tyler completed entire project (including trip to store) in two hours. Also suggested other projects he was qualified to do. Tyler of TJH Contracting LLC is a gentleman and trustworthy. First experience with TJH, but I have already hired him for two more jobs at my home. He is a North Dakota Certified Handyman. You'll pay more than you would comparing it to some Hoover, etc. type you'll find at a big box store. But we found these work very well and are super durable. Blow's also offers a service for tune-ups or repairs. I just brought mine in and they replaced the bag, belt, bristles, one other thing and also help me find a replacement attachment for my other one that I cracked. Again, great service. I thought it was extra nice when I saw they were showing their kid the ropes, as this is a family-owned business that has been around a long time.
