Our furnace was struggling to kick on in the morning and a service technician came out the same afternoon (Friday). At that time the furnace was running fine and the technician gave us an assessment of what he thought the problem was, however could not in good conscience make the repair because all was working. I requested he come back Monday morning, because that is when the problem occurred. Fast forward to Sunday 57 degrees in the house when I got up and the furnace would not fire. Called again and an on call technician came out, diagnosed the problem and made the repair. They also waived the service technician fee for the first call, and charged only the truck fee. Billing was very easy to work with. It was more expensive because the work was done on the weekend which could not be helped. read more

We've used Home Heating several times over the years. New hot water heater, new furnace, adding central air, and now radon mitigation. I purchased a radon detector (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H2VOSP8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it was showing readings from 5 to over 8 picoliters of radon. 2.5 picoliters is considered safe. I contacted Home Heating and several other radon mitigation services for estimates on mitigating it. 3 of the estimates were in the $1,500 range just for the radon mitigation. Home gave me an estimate $200 to $300 less, and included a new sump pump. TJ and Paul came out to do the install. They did great work, and cleaned up after themselves. The sump is now sealed, and the radon seeping into it is being vented to the outdoors. The radon detector is now reading between .37 and .74 picoliters, well under the recommended safe levels. read more

He didn't know I was the owner of the business finishing the house and will never do business with them again. Had home heating and plumbing out to diagnose a gas fireplace issue. The technician was unable to repair and was sent an invoice for the service call. I called with a question regarding the invoice and was transferred to the service manager. When I explained to the service manager that I didn't understand the validity of some of the charges, he became completely enraged and began yelling. He attacked my character and then stated that he would place a lien on my home. When I told him to stop raising his voice, he said he could do whatever he wanted and that I should never call the company again. read more

Had to get my heating exhaust cap replaced and ended up needing to replace some of the piping on the roof. The 2 technicians (the only reason 2 were there was because this job was on a roof) left for 2 hours to get parts and I was charged the full labor rate for both technicians for those hours. read more

I just had a new gas furnace and central air conditioning unit installed by Home Heating. First of all, they did not try to Over Sell me. When I asked them if I should step up to more expensive units, Matt actually told me the only person that would benefit from stepping up is the salesman. He sold me exactly what I needed and didn't "oversell" me like most of the other companies I got quote from did. The installers were very nice and explained things to me very well. Carl and Adam came to our home to check out our hot water heater. Upon inspection they found our current water heater to be corroded and in need of replacing. They were able to get to work right away and put a new one in, that day! I asked a few question regarding maintenance and upkeep. I Just had a new furnace installed this past winter. I have had other work done with this company in the past and have paid them in full. Due to my tax refund being considerably less this year, unfortunately; I was only able to pay them $2K on the furnace and had to make payments. I had a problem with the furnace leaking, so I called them with my 10 year warranty, and they REFUSED to fix the leak unless my account was paid in full. I explained I planned on selling my home, and this needed to be taken care of. I had to contact another company to fix the leak. 2 days later I had a " PRE-Lien" notice sent to me!!! Wow! I took money from my children's savings, deducted the bill from the other company and paid them in full. Now, if you don't have money to pay them in full; I would recommend looking elsewhere!! I had been in contact with Laurie the whole time and was making payments regularly. They would NEVER be a company I would ever use again. This was totally uncalled for and did not appreciate the fact that they also DO NOT honor their work with warranties. I thank God that I did not have an issue while it was still Winter and had no heat in my home. read more
