We sadly had to put down our big dog and I'm so glad we chose Denver Animal Hospital to do so…read more After researching extensively, I found that many services are quite expensive. However this hospital was by far the most affordable option. Although the price was a concern for my wife and me, we also wanted somewhere that would be respectful of this extremely difficult decision. They got us right in and were amazing and so compassionate. They even sent us a signed card from the staff along with our sweet boy's paw print. Later, we brought our cat in for a regular checkup for an illness about two months later and they were super helpful and didn't push treatments that weren't absolutely necessary. The wait was a little long, but they are an emergency hospital so they operate on a first-come-first-serve basis and they still got to us as quickly as possible. Highly recommend this vet 100%.

We were immediately registered to be seen. There were pets with more serious issues so we didn't expect to be seen immediately. We were talked to by 2 females & 1 male-assumed they were all vet techs but have no idea. We're told they would probably do an ultrasound-fine. Was then told the Dr said to do an X-ray & we're told the price. We aren't doctors, we did what we were told & $500+ later at 10:39, with no one in the lobby, I asked what the X-ray results were. No stones/crystals. What should have been done was a test of his urine for a UTI-I asked for that before the X-ray but it was never addressed until AFTER the overpriced X-ray. We went to our animal hospital Sept. 2 when the problems returned & he had an ultrasound, urine rest & was put on meds for a UTI. The other thing that was happened while we're were there from 5pm -10:39 was a foster Bischon who was in labor, one puppy born dead, one had to be euthanized & one that she had trouble delivering because of its size but was also dead. That pitiful dog whined in extreme pain the ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE! Again, I'm no vet, but there was no reason to delay a c-section & spare that dog the pain she was in! DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE - I'd drive to SC before I'd go back there.

Unfortunately, it's never the answer we want to hear but the doctor was straight forward and honest with what our hearts knew before walking in. He went blind. It was a 100$ deposit then. I swore I would never go to them again. In 2018 or so another dog of mine had a similar injury and I had him seen after hours at Urgent Vet in Ft Mill. He recovered nicely and kept his sight. So last night I tried to go back to Urgent Vet and have my Collie seen but they had another dog in front and told me to go to CVS to get hom stabilized as he was losing fluids . I didn't know they had opened a location in Rock Hill. It is very hidden back off Dave Lyle. So I called for directions from Target. The girl answering the phone seemed annoyed when I told her I couldn't find them. Mind you, this was about 9:30pm. When I get there she is behind the desk on the computer and or her cell acting as if I am interrupting her. My dog was bleeding and wrapped in a blanket in my arms. Dead weight and breathing hard. Noone offered to even open the door. I observed a stretcher to the left in the door entrance but my hands were full obviously. Not to mention I am trying to emotionally hold myself together. That receptionist did absolutely nothing. Not even call for assistance. Again, it appeared all about money. They took the 200$ deposit, I told them I suspected a blockage of some sort. At least 40 minutes went by and the Dr. comes in basically regurgitates what I told them I suspected as their diagnosis. No x-rays, no bloodwork, no tests of any kind. Just visual and manual observations. According to the invoice they gave him glucose, hydromorphone fluids pcv...$373.90. They probably googled the symptoms simultaneously telling me that they need 3-4 grand. According ordinary to the tech they had not even stabilized him. They ask me if I called poison control & gave me number. Dr. wanted to keep him overnight, I asked for a breakdown of charges. Basically, it was going to be 3-4 grand just to 'explore' with no guarantee he would survive. Suggested euthanasia. The doctor said I was rude because I wanted a breakdown of the charges, prognosis... Plus my tone was reflecting how disrespected I felt by the intake person who was snippy dense and uninterested and focused on her phone? So much so she didn't seem to know what a pecan was? I am the one paying as in customer, I am the one who should be shown r-e-s-p-e-c-t. I said I would take him to the primary vet in the morning. They basically covered their asses by having me sign a waiver that he may pass in 24-48 hours. More concerned about liability and image than you or your pet. I was going to wait to see a real vet Saturday morning if he survived the night. He did not. Rock Hill just seems to attract these chains, franchise businesses of all sorts who only care about the bottom line. And then they are referred by the locals for after hours care. A good, CAPABLE, Professional, reputable vet should think twice about doing that. They are capitalizing on the short supply of just that. So it seems Urgent Vet, Petfolks and Healthy Pets are the only good choices. Btw, no need to contact me CVS. This was my experience and my opinion. Either do better or deal with the consequences. That is known as accountability. I hope noone else has to endure such callous treatment.

From the very first phone call, everyone was kind, patient, and professional. When I called to explain what was happening with our sweet Pepper, they listened with empathy and gave us clear guidance. When I called back to let them know we were on our way, they were ready for us, and as soon as we arrived, they immediately took Pepper in. The veterinarian took the time to explain everything with honesty and compassion, giving us the information we needed without ever making us feel rushed. After we made the heartbreaking decision to let Pepper go, she told us she would not charge us for the diagnostic X-rays. The staff gave us a private room where we could spend our final moments with Pepper in peace, and that meant more to us than they will ever know. The following day, I noticed the X-rays had accidentally been included on the bill. I called, and they immediately apologized and refunded the charge without any hassle. That level of integrity speaks volumes. Today, we received a sympathy card from the team expressing their condolences for Pepper's passing. That simple gesture meant so much to our family. It reminded us that they truly care about both their patients and the people who love them. The hospital was clean, welcoming, and every member of the staff treated us with genuine kindness and respect. During such a painful experience, they made us feel supported every step of the way. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our beloved Pepper and for helping us say goodbye with dignity, compassion, and love. We will never forget your kindness.
