My dog decided to get a 4 inch long piece of wood impaled into his chest. He is a classic German Shepherd mix and is skittish and it's worse when he's injured. They did a fantastic job working with him and discussing how it would be best to go about resolving the problem. He is on the mend, now if only he would not destroy my house with the cone!

My husband and I were traveling from Arizona back to our home in upstate NY my shipoo had a medical issue and we stopped to this hospital for her care everyone from the receptionist to the vet tech to the veterinarian was top notch! We received amazing care and they were empathetic as well as thorough! I highly recommend this emergency hospital for your critical animal care!

My dogs throw up with blood in it.

Denver Animal Emergency is a MONEY PIT with no answers, I'd avoid at all cost unless you NEED to go there. I never write reviews but my experience was so bad: I brought my sick golden retriever boy (4 years old) who had been throwing up, lethargic, not responding to his name, laying down and didn't want to be up even for a little, refusing food and water on 04/20/25 (Easter) so I brought him in. The vet ran his bloodwork and did a physical and everything came back clear so the doctor said he thinks he ate something but couldn't give me a full answer which cost about $670 to get no answers fully. Keep in mind too they don't do heart worm testing in the bloodwork and they also don't do a fecal sample. They sent me home with GI medication and anti-nausea. Told me to bring. Him in if it continues. 4/22/25 had to bring him back to the vet due to excessive drooling, nausea, laying down after being up for a few mins with his head down, refusing water but eating rice and chicken, threw up again. The ER said to do a Xray so I did to see if there was a blockage, also I had let them know he isn't a dog to get into anything/ wouldn't eat anything besides a bug or part of a stick but even then he doesn't eat sticks, just carries them. Got another physical done and also par o test which came back clean. The Xray showed nothing and they gave him more anti nausea and antibiotics, still didn't have an answer besides he might have ate something. Another $740 down the drain. He was fine for a couple days then 4/25/25 he started throwing up blood, being lethargic, not wanting to walk around, not being responsive, super sleepy and unwell. I brought him back AGAIN for them to suggest bloodwork because "things change" and another physical as well as give him more fluid and antibiotics nausea and send us home with more anti nausea. Again, blood work came back actually better then the first time when it was already amazing, they didn't feel anything, a different doctor saw him but AGAIN had no exact answers besides had ate something but he's only finally eating chicken and rice with broth (finally kind of drinking but stopped the day he threw up blood) and keep him on leash and walk him in the back yard so there's no way he ate something again. Another $670 down the drain. They want to send him to a specialist that would cost $3-4k in Charolette to do an MRI. I took him to a regular vets office called Animal Hospital North who was AMAZING. they did a blood test, stool sample, physical, anti nausea, antibiotics, parasite medication, monthly medication for everything (heartworm, roundworm, parasites, tick, flea etc) and gave him shots. Within 10 mins or less when they took him back with his poop sample, the doctor came in and told me he had Parasites/ worms. All of that cost me $234 and I got an answer. Avoid this place at all costs, they only want to leach you for money and not give you answers. Go to a regular vets office instead if you're able and make sure to thoroughly do your research on places you bring your pet.

Baby Girl is still with us. I'm praying to find a Vet who cares. Andrew Pierce I hope you have the day you deserve.

Just want ya'll to know my Baby Girl sweet Cholie is no longer with us. Had I gotten her to Hunterville's they said they would have treated with a second dose of prednisone and pain meds. Said there's no excuse for animal to have to end their life in pain. But God has her now. And Cavin and Cook Crematory is taking care of her. Shame on ya'll. I will assure you I will tell people if they care for their babies take them to Huntersville Emergency Vet.

My pup went in for overnight observation when another vet noticed a potential blockage in his intestines. He was sooooo sick. Unable to really move, not eating, vomiting all day, etc. The X-rays showed the potential blockage but the ER also caught questionable sizing on his kidneys. We did some exploring and he's coming back normal on all things outside of the X-ray blockage. It's confirmed and we do surgery - there was indeed a blockage (corn cob) (we will literally never eat corn again) and it was quick to retrieve but Dr. Sulik also wanted to make sure his kidneys were okay as the X-ray was showing it to be much larger than expected. It turns out he was born with only one kidney. We would never have known until potentially too late if Dr. Sulik hadn't done her due diligence during surgery. Axle is now home resting comfortable and focusing on recovery. The entire team was nothing but kind and helpful. They provided plenty of updates and called consistently while Axle stayed to recover. They also have a texting program which made it easy to get quick updates and ask questions while they were busy with other patients. Every question I had was responded too and the doctors took their time to make sure I understood what was going on. I felt the price of the surgery and recovery was very fair and if you are reading this and have pets - I'd recommend pet insurance if you are concerned about potential emergencies. They happen - even with the best and most healthy pets. Dr. Pierce, Dr. Bruketa, Dr. Sulik, Taylor, Autumn, and everyone else who helped make sure Axle was taken care of THANK YOU. I genuinely cannot thank you enough for getting my pup back home to us.

This is a great place where neither the owners nor the customers are hoping for repeat business. A top notch although not inexpensive full medical facility which offers full emergency care for injured or sick animals. Great skilled and sympathetic doctors are supplemented by caring techs and well trained office staffers. They also care about the human sides of the family and offer free coffee and other drinks. They are one of the few places which maintain anti venom so if your pet is bitten by a snake head straight here as the sooner it is administered the more effective it is. Saturday's are incredibly busy here starting in the afternoon as mist gets close at noon.

After my dog was hit by a car, I took him to the Denver animal emergency clinic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, they wanted to charge me $900 + dollars to put stitches in his leg and do x-rays and give him a saline solution or something to help with shock and clean his wounds. I ended up getting only part of the services done. Thereby, I paid $330 to purchase the antibiotics and the pain medication and to have IV for shock and a saline solution to clean and shave the area where he had the open wounds and abrasions. Despite them being rather pricey, I did appreciate the fact that the veterinarian followed up with me the next day to check on my dog. Two days later I took my dog to his regular vet and they stated that he appears to be doing fine and to continue doing what I'm doing no x-rays or stitches were needed.

One time they called ahead to an ER for our pet as they wanted them to know we were coming in with certain conditions. The emergency room was prepared and briefed before we arrived We use this in cases they we are not sure if it is severe enough to warrant an emergency room visit. The vet hospitals we use say this can be used as sort of a faster triage since vet hospitals can have a longer wait with running on triage and handling some very severe time sensitive cases. There have been visits where we have been given a treatment and sent on the way home. Other times we have been referred to an emergency vet center like CARE. Showing them below for reference. Came in with dog that had a lump in her mouth - referred to CARE it was melanoma. They did do x rays of the lungs to help speed up her intake at CARE. Our dog vomited we went. While there blood started coming from her mouth. They gave her an anti nausea so we could make the longer drive to CARE as she had pneumonia and had to be admitted to the hospital for a couple days. Blood in a dog's eye - On site they were able to check her retina, and did a stain to check I think if there was anything more concerning/severe. The tests all came back clear, they think she popped a vein at the groomer and sent us home with an eye ointment and instructions. They do have wifi for pet parents. Water and some snacks on the far end of the waiting area. The wait can vary depending on how many cases they have and their severity. If anything escalates while there i.e. dog went from throwing up to drooling blood just let them know and a vet tech and vet if needed will pop in. One of the most helpful things for hospitals it to take videos or photos when safe and able of what occured or they did. It can help with the assessment if your fur baby is not doing it at the time of arrival at the Urgent Vet. Would absolutely recommend and I am sure we will use again. This gives our pets relief on minor issues when our vet is not open and the injury doesn't appear to be life threatening.

Also wasted $400 in duplicate charges because I had to go to the emergency vet immediately from there. Update to review- The practice manager did reach out to me and apologized. She outlined ballpark pricing (which was slightly less than I expected) and told me the doctor would be in soon. Within about 10 minutes, the doctor came in with the same kind, loving, patient demeanor. He had to do a bit more invasive exam and Yaz wasn't having it so unfortunately, he had to be muzzled. After re-explaining the situation and expecting to drop my dog off for monitoring and additional tests, I proceeded to wait for 3 hours and never spoke to a vet. After subjecting myself and my dog to 7 hours in a small exam room, I decided it was best to get him home and find somewhere else to continue treatment. For what its worth, the first location was $370 for a physical exam, minimal blood panel for electrolyte levels and minor things, as well as some sort of low level ultrasound which was not sophisticated to determine what the mass was the vet found in the physical exam. I want to add that I'm sure there were other emergencies going on and I'm empathetic and understanding that other animals needed care and not just my own. The lack of communication between locations and their inability to essentially transfer him as it was explained to me was very frustrating. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a nurse (who never even told us her name) and quickly escorted to an exam room. After explaining that the only thing we think that he could have possibly ingested was strings from a rope toy, we waited for the doctor. Soon after, Dr. Fort came in, introduced himself, felt my dogs abdomen and says, "something doesn't feel quite right". He then proceeded to go into a dialog about how dangerous rope toys are, how much damage they can do to a dogs intestines, and how he recently performed several surgeries to remove foreign objects in the digestive track that cost upwards of $4000.00. Without even offering to perform an x-ray, other diagnostics, or even mentioning other possible explanations for my dogs condition he explained to us that we would need to pay for removal surgery or our dog would eventually be so dehydrated and weak that we would have to put him down. He left the room and came back with a quote for $2,300.00. After sitting in the waiting room crying, and trying to taking this all in, we asked him to just do an x-ray to see what's going on inside. The resulting x-ray was rudimentary at best. You could make out some black spots near my dogs intestines which he told us looked like "hollow foreign objects" blocking his digestive track. Again, we were told that a decision would need to be made soon because our dog would quickly become dehydrated and weak otherwise. We asked for a copy of the x-rays and left. The next morning we were able to take the x-Rays to the Animal Medical Hospital for a second opinion. The doctor there examined the x-Rays and explained that the dark spots were gas bubbles and that in her opinion there did not seem to be any clear obstructions in his digestive track. She suggested doing digital x-Rays to get a clearer image and doing blood work. Everything came back conclusive that my dog had extensive gas inside his stomach, but that everything else looked normal. After he received fluids by IV and medications for nausea, we were given a special food, probiotics, and an antacid and sent home to monitor his condition. A few hours later he was drinking water and had started eating again. Please do not take your pet to Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Gaston Co. if you want a proper diagnosis of your pets condition.

I told her I guess that I will just take him home to die. EVIDENTLY THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT SAVING A DOG'S LIFE. So don't go here if you are wanting HELP for your loved one, If you are just going to have your dog put down they will gladly help you.
