I recently moved to the area and this is where my boyfriend goes all the time, so those were the main reasons I started stopping here - however, it's the good prices and service that keep me coming back. If you pay cash for your gas, you get a discount (I'm not sure exactly what the discount amount is, but if I get $20 of gas and pay cash, I usually save about 50 cents). It's not a huge discount, but lets be honest - with the inflation of gas prices and other living costs nowadays, every discount helps, right? Aside from the price, the service here is always super. The cashier is always friendly - I have NEVER had an unfriendly cashier in any of my visits here, no lie. Not that I think they deserve a medal for being pleasant or anything, but I find getting a friendly hello, how are you and take care makes a big difference in my experience. I don't buy gas often, but when I do I always go to Wilson's in Rockingham Ridge - I am personally willing to go out of my way for a discount and a smile.

I find the pumps are faster than a lot of other stations where I find that $30 takes 4 or more minutes to pump! I always use my Petro points card as well. I don't really post anything related to gas-station as people only worry about prices. However in…read moreHalifax, prices are regulated and you see the same price for miles. So, giving this a lower rating because of the gas price is not fair. What my rating is based on Is customer service and location. I haven't really been into a bad situation here so nothing from there. I usually just pay outside, so communication is rare, only if I buy something from inside. The problem I think is the location. This is located where the main highway 102 starts, and as you may suspect, this is where people accelerate. Well, trying to turn your car to enter the area of the gas station is a test. You make a mistake, you pay for your life. One or two incidents have occurred in the past, explaining why people coming out of the highway are NOT allowed to make a left to Romans avenue. So be careful!

That said, the place was clean, easy to get in and out of, and did exactly what a gas station is supposed to do, which is honestly more than can be said for some places. Good stop overall. That goes for other shops in the vicinity as well. It seems like everytime I stop by here to get gas, the pumps are either inefficient (ie. most of them are "out of service"), or they are closed altogether (the place closes extremely early considering it's a gas station, and the other service stations in the area remain open late into the night). Also, the gas station has an old-fashioned design, meaning there is no option to "pay at the pump" when you're in a hurry or when there are line-ups at the pumps. Maybe a trivial thing, but it's an inconvience no less.

This Petro Can is the middle child of the three.. and shows it. They have a great selection of your typical gas station fare, combined with some over priced options as a sort of convenience store grocery. The gas pumps are usually good to work, they have had some issues with their debit machines before which can cause a nightmare in the early hours trying to tell them you will be back. When the clock strikes 9 - 10 now.. they do close the store.. and all business is done through a metal drawer that the clerk passes back and forth through the window. There hasn't been any crime here as far as I know, but I guess you can never be too safe. A nice clean store, with gas. What more can you expect from a gas station?

They have a limited variety and supply of goods for sale, mainly a few different flavors of chips, candy and pop, pretty much what you would expect from a gas station.
