Seriously, I often quit before the tank is full because I just hate it so much. But I found a rare thing: a full-serve gas station! I was so excited! It's actually just a single island with a couple of full-service pumps set near a glass booth that holds a person. The price of gas is a couple of cents more for full service, but since I hate pumping my own gas, for me it's worth an extra buck to have someone else do it. The guy here looks pretty bored. I suspect most people don't mind filling their tanks and his day is probably pretty boring other than the occasional senior who stops by for a fill-up. I have to say that I did expect something more -- maybe a quick swipe of a squeegee across my windshield or something. Or a cheerful hello or a bad joke. Something. But no, I got nada. Still, if you hate standing in the weather while filling your tank, stop by the full service pumps and let someone else do it.
