Wes stumbled on this space while taking a walk in the area. It's a huge grass area with some benches that is fenced off and drops down a bit from the surrounding area.
When we passed by initially there were a bunch of people with their dogs (some on leash and some off leash) they looked like they were having an AMAZING time. I mentioned to my husband that I'd love to stop in and let our dog Oslo run around and took note of the spot.
Well, we didn't need to wait long because we stopped by maybe an hour or two later to check it out.
There's a path on the left of the park to enter and a sign with park rules. I will note it says to keep dogs on leash- but as we had seen other dogs running around earlier and at this time we were the only people there we decided to let him off leash.
The space is huge, great for some soccer games, letting kids run around, kick ball, really anything that needs a big open area.
There are a few benches and a garbage can but no shaded areas, no drinking fountain, and no poop bag stations. It will get very hot later in the summer and we could see why the group of people with their dogs we saw were there earlier in the day.
This space is a very unique park offering and I'm so glad we stumbled on it! read more
