This is a great fishing spot for Bluegill and Catfish. Also the bike trails runs parallel to the canal if you enjoy cycling. There's no street parking but plenty of parking at the shopping centers or business parks. Do not attempt to go into the restricted areas around the fencing to get closer to the canal as it's very dangerous. Fish from the public access points on the bridges. Best time for fishing in this spot is early mornings or evenings. There also Mather Lake nearby for shore and small boat fishing. Happy fishing!

It's not all that fancy to look at, but it seems very practical. There's a walking/jogging path, lots of grassy areas for sports or just hanging out, and then there's a dog park. There's even an amphitheatre I guess for local performances or their community events. All in all, a pretty chill and nice little open space in an otherwise pretty infilled and developed part of upper Land Park off Broadway.

Believe it or not, this was my first trip to the Placer County Fair--and it did not disappoint!…read moreFrom the moment we arrived, the staff at the front gate were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The only hiccup was the parking. The team at the entrance and the people directing traffic didn't always seem to be on the same page, so there was a little confusion about where cars should go. Nothing catastrophic, just a little "follow that person... no, wait... follow that person!" The food selection was fantastic! We had some incredible BBQ, and then somehow found room for soft-serve ice cream that was absolutely out of this world. Let's just say my diet officially filed a complaint. The highlight of the day was taking my granddaughter on the kiddie rides. We laughed, smiled, and made memories I'll never forget. The ride attendants were patient, friendly, and helpful, making the experience even better. Watching my granddaughter dance with her team at the pavilion was another special moment that made the day complete. Overall, the fair felt clean, safe, family-friendly, and full of great people. If you're looking for a fun day with your family, good food, entertainment, and a chance to make lasting memories, I'd definitely recommend the Placer County Fair. We'll be back next year... and yes, I'm already planning my BBQ and ice cream strategy!

It wasn't like an…read moreobstacle course on the television show that has a similar name, it was more like either running over some mounds of dirt or tires, or wading through freshly dug pits of mud. The only reason I give it three stars is that it's a little dangerous. We did not run the competitive race, but I'd be very careful running this thing quickly. Numerous chances to turn an ankle in a hole, or slipping down the mud hills. I slid down the long waterslide into a pond, and began running, and ran straight into a huge underwater rock, gashing open my shin (see photo). Just a heads up that you can get hurt on this thing. On a different note, I think the $10 parking fee was a rip off, but the free beer at the end was cool. My kid had a blast and we plan on doing it next year.

We made it to the race just on time, but due to one start time for 5k and 10k, it took awhile to cross the start line. The course was relatively flat. It ran along the Sacramento River and ended at Raley Field. The only complaint I have is having to go up the stairs after the finish line. The race was a good way to start the day.

It's dangerous because they…read moredon't stagger. 10K runners are put in dangerous conditions where they can actually get injured from the lollygaggers and people who where headphones walking. I shouldn't just day 10K but anybody serious about their running. This is not a race for us. Most of all I am disappointed that no dogs were allowed to finish. They couldn't stop from the race (public streets) but the finish line they did. Why I have no clue. The field was blocked. Dirt just dirt. Really to all the dog lovers ban the Rivercats. They are not dog friendly. My dog is my inspiration and they denied her. She's very well trained and was more respectful then most of the people that were there. I won't do this race again. Everyone had a blast. The owner makes sure you're having a good experience and a fun time. He's an engaging host and worked with me super well on getting the times figured out. I highly recommend supporting this small business. Friends and family even are trying to figure out their own events they can have Big Red come out too! I'm definitely going to be booking with him again next opportunity I get.
