I have always found Elene's team of groomers to be professional and to listen to any directions I have had about my dog's cuts. I am to the point where now I just drop my dog off and hardly say a word as they know based on the season what cut to give him. When I got my new puppy I took him in to make an appointment to get his nails done and to have a bath. Elena asked if I would mind having Barkley come by for a short photo shoot. I agreed. The picture Elena took were simply amazing. So much so that I booked Barkley for another appointment to get a series of photos done since the ladies at work liked them so much. I highly recommend Elena and the crew at Top Dog for both grooming and photography of your furry friends. They are top notch.

I have a miniature schnauzer with a "bit of an attitude" and they always get him perfect with out scratches, cuts or nicks. Also, their prices are competitive but even if they weren't the care and commitment they have for your dog is worth the cost. The only downside is that you need to book 3 to 4 weeks in advance (busier than a Yaletown hairstylist!) but the fact that they love what they do and they love all animals makes them THE grooming place for the North shore pet lover! Northwest Boarding Kennels seemed like the perfect place for the pooch. We thought it was a great…read morefit for the little guy and that he would get the best care possible during his stay there. Unfortunately, soon upon his return home his personality and character told another story. He went from being a dog that would sleep all night on his own, and being able to stay home during the day to a dog that would go into panic mode when ever he was alone. He was no longer able to be alone for longer than 15 minutes without panicking. It was quite sad to see. It has been over a year now since he was at Northwest and we are still working on getting him back to his normal self. He has gotten better and can manage being home alone for a couple hours but even then that can be pushing it some days. It is always sad coming home and seeing him at the door panting uncontrollably and drooling profusely. I just want my little pooch to be back to his happy go lucky self. For a while his vet recommended he be put on medication that would easy the anxiety so we did that for a few months and then we weaned him off and just continued to work on leaving him at home longer and longer in hope that it works. He now also goes to daycare any time that someone can't be with him during the day. He used to go to daycare 2 times a week just so he could play and socialize but now it is a must for him to go so he isn't home alone. It has been a long year. I wish my pooch could speak for himself and tell us what happened but he can't so with his response to being at Northwest he won't ever be going back.

Northwest Kennels has nice large covered areas for dogs to play and socialize during the day. Dogs are grouped by their size to ensure they get the most fun out of the experience.
