Poor staff communication. At both locations (Peoria and new EP) I was told something over the phone. Only to come in, speak to the manager, who told me something completely different. Both times resulted in my dog unable to participate in day care or boarding and wasted time. Management needs to communicate and train their staff regarding rules, regulation, policies, etc. In regard to the Peoria location, I suppose the day care is alright and the facilities do seem nice and clean. At the end of the day, my dog hasn't seemed as tired (like she has before at another facility) but at least it's socialization and a change in environment. These locations just happen to be closer and useful when my other facility is full. I like the ability to see the live feed but most times I don't see the staff interacting with the dogs. With the new EP location, I'll give them the benefit of being new and continue to give it a few more shots. At my other facility, the staff is friendlier and more knowledgeable, and my dog seems pooped after a day in daycare. But I'm hopeful CBW will work out to be like that too as we all want what's best for our four-legged family. read more

I used to bring my dogs here a lot for daycare and boarding but we were recently told that my dog has become too aggressive and could no longer come to their facility. My dog got bit by another dog there in December 2022 and one other time before that and both times I was told it was not my dogs fault. According to my vet my dog has become defensive because of her previous bites and this was taken as aggression instead of what it really is since she has had bad experiences there and feels the need to protect herself from getting bit again. I have taken my dog to two other day cares since being expelled from here and my dog has not had any troubles being in with a large group of dogs so clearly the fault lays on camp bow wow who clearly has too many dogs and not enough employees to be able to safely care for your dogs properly. All of this happened less than a month before I am set to go on vacation for 10 days which has left me scrambling to find other accommodations for my dogs in such a short period of time due to me not having any family in the area that could help me. camp bow wow has refused to give me a refund and had the gall to tell me that my other dog could still continue to come to camp there. Why would I bring one dog to camp without the other one? I do not recommend camp bow wow at all. read more

If you are looking for a safe fun place for your doggies Camp Bow Wow is the place to be. I have been taking my dog for daytime play as well as boarding and she always is happy to go and happy when we pick her up. Easy drop off and always friendly staff. They do a great job. The video is great, the staff is attentive to the dogs. At the front desk they are kind and grateful and so glad that you are in their business. It's pricey but they seem like they truly love love love the animals. Thats a great way to go out of town! read more

Do NOT take your dog to these people! Customer Service is terrible & if you complain, say about a terrible grooming, the owner will tell you that she's sure its because my pet was "unruly" whilst being groomed(even though the Groomer told me that she wished ALL dogs were as sweet & well behaved as mine). I didn't want a refund or discount just the OBVIOUS mistake fixed & nails clipped/filed as quoted in price. I was told that they don't need customers who complain or waste her Groomer's time by asking for "additional free services" WTH!!!???!!! GO ELSEWHERE! I wish now I would've believed the other bad reviews + several people who advised me to avoid this place!!! read more

Wonderful people who truly care for your fur family. I have a Shih tzu and Maltese, "my boys". The Maltese has always been very aggressive and angry for haircuts but they exercise great patience and care with him to get him fresh and clean. They both love to play in daycare afterwards and I love being able to check in on them on the app. Great service! read more

I would give them a 0/5 if I could. I bought a huge package from them. My dog then got very sick, almost died, and we found out she had Addison's disease. There's several things to watch for and be careful of with this disease. I talked to them and they were gonna help, we set up a plan. Then, I would bring her home and she would have a seizure or lay there like she was dying. She was on meds, but her water intake had to be restricted and she needed some alone time. They did none of that. She would come home with bleeding bite marks from other dogs. I would inquire and they were clueless. She came home SO stinky and dirty every time. They did nothing to help me, andi gave them several chances, so I finally pulled her and asked for my unused money back, which was $500. They would not give it. I asked if I could give it to a friend who's dog already went there and they refused. I asked if I could use it for grooming my other dog and they refused. They fully refused my other dog to go to camp there, as well. They refused to give me a gift card. They refused to allow me to even recruit a new dog to earn their business and use the money on the new dog. They were SO rude. I would call and they wouldn't call back. The manager would leave when I would enter. I was never mean, rude, or angry. I was kind and patient. I spent almost a year trying to get any money back. They even commented, it's just $500. Like I should just get over it. They were horrible! Would absolutely NOT recommend! Save yourself a massive headache. read more

Terrible experience! My dog was not properly supervised and was bit by another dog while at Camp Bow Wow - staff described as 'a little owie' but they had to carry my dog to me and he was shaking from pain. I took him directly to an emergency vet clinic where he was treated for a deep dog bite. I've tried multiple times to contact the owners but am blocked by front desk staff who say the owners are too busy to talk and even hung up on me. read more

Initial call to Peoria campus was never returned. Ended up boarding at East Peoria. Multiple calls were made to our vet asking for information already provided by vet and owner. At drop off day we changed our pick up date and added bath service. When we picked up our pups there was no record of the changes made in the computer. The additional services were already paid for, but only a credit to camp bow wow was granted. That day I asked to speak with owner, but was told it was not an option. The following business day I received a call from a additional office staff member and they were unhelpful to resolve any issue as it "policy". I asked to speak with the owner again as this was also the direct person who changed our reservations and additions were made with personally and admitted our dogs the day of drop off. I was told that she is on vacation, was made aware of the situation and asked this staff member to take care of it. As "it's not the owners job to handle situations like this. You can't just call McDonald's and ask to speak with the owner." The woman I spoke with said she would relay the message, but there won't be any difference in outcome. Our experience overall...seems disorganized, very unprofessional and poor communication between staff members, veterinarian and customer. Despite almost a $200 credit of services we did not receive we will not be retuning. I can only assume this is why their policy is to pay in full prior to stay and services, not offer to refund the customer if services are not received, and not be able to contact the business owner. Poorly run business in many aspects. read more

Kicked dog out without warning for nipping. He's an 8 month old puppy so he's going to nip a bit and she got in the middle of him playing. Had never said anything before despite saying they had. Had no proof whatsoever. 0/10. Wouldn't recommend to my enemy. Staff was rude when telling story about what happened. Glad they get to pick and choose what dogs they want at daycare. Told us we failed to discipline our dog. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

Our dog can be finicky around new places and people, but he took to Camp Bow Wow almost immediately. The interview process, which I watched on camera, was both helpful and reassuring. They introduced several dogs one at a time to ours, then in a short time he was part of the pack! After that, and having a tour of the operations, meeting the genuinely knowledgable, enthusiastic, and friendly staff, I felt at ease having our dog in their hands. Highly recommend. read more

My dog passed his "interview" process, we were told he was a "good fit," and we were happy with his first week. I purchased a large number of credits as they had a promotion at the time. Things went well for a few visits. The first sign of an issue was when we picked him up after a grooming. His nails were not clipped because he fought them. Pugs are notorious for this, so we shrugged it off and took him to his usual groomer to get his nails done. It took them 10 min. without drama. We had to take a break due to medical issues and Covid. I brought him back when my job reopened and it turns out my dog humped A LOT. They did change his room from indoor 2 to a room with larger dogs and I could tell via camera he felt that he wanted more attention. I was told of the issue and that if it did not resolve he would not be allowed in daycare. As expected, he was kicked out of doggie daycare the next day. I inquired about a refund of the credits and was told no. It was after the 30 day limit, so that is their right. However, I have $280 in credit for a grooming service that may or may not be able to clip his nails. I would love a refund, but have been told multiple times that is not possible. I am not placing blame, but be very aware of the policies and ensure the groomer is a good fit before buying a package. read more

Absolutely terrible. First they needed an "intervirew" with my dog, where they brought him into a room by himself and held him in place while another dog got all up in his business. My dog is a very sweet and sensitive dog and he gets nervous when hes brought into rooms by himself. When the other dog was sniffing him and making him uncomfortable, he looked terrified and looked like he was about to pee and start crying. Afterwards, they had the gall to say that they would need a follow up interview with my dog. Theres absolutely no way I would ever agree to let my dog stay here, they clearly do not know what they are doing and they would not make my dog feel safe staying there overnight. Futhermore, I wouldn't feel safe with them having my dog. They aren't dog people, have no idea how dogs act, and they clearly are just looking to make their jobs easier. 0 Stars read more

Cassie and staff are excellent! We have a super sweet, but sensitive pup that I was nervous was going to get acclimated. During her interview, she was reassured while each pup approached her to make sure she can handle a group. They introduced one at a time before playing in a large group. She sailed through, I know that - because I got to watch on camera the whole time. The place is spotless, and the dogs love going there. They get so excited when we're on our way. I set up an appointment for my dog's grooming. I was warned that we have to provide evidence of rabies shots, which was fine as my dog had all required vaccinations. That was 4 days prior to my appointment. On the day of appointment, I received a call from them stating that they require records of ALL the shots including elective shots and will not groom my dog without a complete record. Very poor way of conducting a business. I had to cancel another appointment for this one, I wasted a few days waiting instead of going somewhere else. If management and employees are unsure of what exactly their requirements are and not upfront with those requirements, if they don't respect the time of their customers, then how can I trust that they will follow through with the service they promise?!
