5 of 5 fish have died in less than 24hours!!! Within 10ish hours 2 were floating...upon closer inspection--one looks like it may have the beginning stages of fin rot or ich!!! I have spend hundreds on my tanks and better not have an outbreak!!! Fast forward to the next morning...you guessed it, 3 remaining are also dead! Now before you assume--another fish nipped at the one's tail, the water levels were off, or they weren't acclimated properly, etc...I've had tanks for 30+ years and this tank in particular is 100 gallon and only has 3 silver dollars in the tank and 30+ plants; They're shy AF, but perfectly healthy and have been in said tank for 5+ years! Along with them I had 8 angel fish whom have passed (age) or were moved to a breeding tank (new breeding pair). 2nd: I was looking around for about 10 minutes and there wasn't a single employee to be found anywhere near the fish area. I made my selection and asked the lady at the checkout to page someone and she acted like I was bothering her while she played on her phone and yet had ZERO customers to check out at the time?! Sorry? 3rd: While "fish lady" (didn't catch her name) was pleasant, it was clear that she was not versed in fish--with her net skills & when she said, "you should get fish with more color"; rainbow fish grow to 3" and have loads of color when they're adults, so long as they're fed properly with veggies and protein and not a cheap flake with fillers....What's worse is I fear she would have sold me just about anything and these fish were 1"ish and need to be in a 75+ with 6 or more to prevent aggression, best color, and fin nipping... 4th: I should have known better/taken it as a warning when she said, "we have a 2 week dead return policy and yes, you need to bring the fish back in with you." AKA THIS HAPPENS A LOT AND TO GET A REFUND THEY NEED THE FISH! Soooooo...I have my frozen 5 fish and I now get to make another stop at Petsmart...buy at your own risk!! PLEASE research on your own before going in or do a quick google search while there FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND HEALTH OF FISH!! I will NOT buy from a Petsmart again and I advise you not to either, especially in their fish department, where they don't know what they're selling and/or fish are sick from not being quarantined upon arrival! read more

Terrible service. Rude associates. Manager staff is broken. There is a reason this petsmart store (#700) has so very many 1 star reviews. They are terrible. I set an appointment to have my best buddy clyde washed. groomed and spiffed up only to have the groomer child deny my appointment because she didnt like my vaccination documentation. It was emailed FROM my vet. I showed her the email on my phone. I gave them exactly what was asked for and she shrugged and said "tuff"! i drove 45 minutes for nothing just to drive 45 minutes home. This store has really went down hill. Staff are rude and not very professional. Actually had the manager laugh in my face when I said I would escalate my issue and then walked away from me without a word when I said that I hadn't meant with the company but as a review. My 2 girls were supposed to be groomed today and the issues started as soon as I hit the door. The groomers came out and told me my elder dog was matted and I needed to pay for additional dematting. This is a hairless dog with a mane and it was a simple snarl like we all get in our hair, was no where close to the skin or anything. I told her to let me know if it didn't brush out and I would consider it and left them there, only to get a call 5 minutes later stating they both had fleas. My dogs were just to the vet 3 days prior!!! I believe my vet before anyone else. When I got there they said there was one flea spotted on my youngest dog. I am super doubtful for several reasons, one is the recent vet visit, the other is fleas are not very common in Winter in Michigan, how do I know it didn't just jump on her from another dog, and the last is they said there was flea droppings on my elder who is a hairless. It would be super hard to not see that on her. They then proceed to tell me they would have treated them but couldn't because there was a pregnant groomer in the salon and couldn't be around flea shampoo. After I offered several solutions to get them finished with each being blocked like it was me or something, I finally left. This is a groomers, you have to be kidding me. Meanwhile, I was given my dogs back, one of which was half shaved!!! I truly think it was due to me calling the groomer out on the dematting charge for a snarl on a hairless dog. The only hair she has is a main on her head, longer hair on her paws, and a tail. Everywhere else she is bald. I am totally disgusted with this store and will never be returning. read more

Need to get some special dietary dog food for my new dogs we rescued. They had the food I needed and the help was greatly appreciated. The young guy working there looked at the photo I showed walked over to the food and showed me exactly what I needed. One star for the Chesterfield location. I have three and had four dogs for years. I ALWAYS took them to PetSmart for grooming, at least four times a year. Yesterday my wife took our Bulldog into Petsmart for her quarterly gooming. Bulldogs are on their "list" of dogs that you have to pick up right away when they are done because they can be stolen and are brachycephallic. We understand. We dropped her off for her usual "spa day" to get the full "furminator" , nail clipping and general beauty treatment. The people there usually just love her to death and fawn over her. Well, I guess they all had Friday off. Wife was across the street at TJ Max when she got the call to pick Ruby up. She said she would be right there. There was a line to get out of the store, and it took her 30 minutes to get across the street. As she was pulling into the parking lot she got another call admonishing her to come right away, and "didn't she get it the first time?" When she got there a 17-year-old kid admonished her for "having her for 2 hours", and "next time she would need to stay in the store the entire time" or, they wouldn't take her anymore. But the evidence is a little thin here. One. She was still damp. Two, it was three o'clock, and we had come into the store at 1:15. Wife came back, picked up the ticket and paid the cashier, then picked up the dog. By then it was 3pm. This includes 10 minutes of berating by some "apprentice" (that's what was on her badge). So the max total time Ruby the Bulldog could have been in grooming is really like 90 minutes. Now for the quality isses (yes, there's MORE) Furminator costs extra (it's $70). It's a special shampoo and a special brushing, because Bullys REALLY DO SHED (owners call it "bulldog glitter"). I'm sitting in my chair the morning after petting my bulldog and there's enough hair coming off her to knit a sweater. This is not the case from other Petsmarts that we've had, the Roseville one is nice but we've moved from that area. It's a 40 mile round trip just to the Chesterfield location where we live now. At least they got her nails right. My wife is in her 50s (don't tell her I said this), and getting chewed out by an "apprentice", self-entited noobie that can't actually do her job is just, well... "Barking" up the wrong tree. We won't be back, ever. read more

Not sure what happened with our grooming service today. My lab has been here 3 or 4 other times before for grooming and had done puppy training here. Today when dropping him off for grooming they called me 5 min later refusing to groom him. They said he was just too nervous and they couldn't do it. Again he's been groomed here 3 or 4 times before with no issues. So why today can't they? They weren't comfortable with him and didn't do anything to comfort him. I offered to bring back treats to help and questioned why there was never a problem before. I believe the groomer was inexperienced and does not know what the job entails. I use curbside at other locations and it is great. I ordered from the Chesterfield location and tried to pick up curbside. After waiting 15 minutes (the store was not busy) and nobody came, I went into the store for my order. The guy tried to give me someone else's order and couldn't find mine. Finally a woman came to the register and got my order. Worst curbside ever!!! read more

Petsmart groomer Janine at the Chesterfield store in Michigan burned my dog during grooming to the point she needed $250 worth of medical care. Janine refuses to take responsibility and said I did it combing my dog!!!! All I asked was for her to admit she made a mistake and I get blamed!!! Completely unprofessional! I usually love this place...hence the three stars. Why not four or five? I went today to buy fish and waited forever while employees spent time in a hall talking, ignoring me. Five o Clock on a Wednesday. Come on folks. I left and headed for one of their competitors, and spent my money. A pet store with competitors on two of three adjoining corners should be smarter than this. I was visiting with a friend in Michigan last week and went into the PetSmart to see how different it was from ours here in Florida. I was quite a bit disappointed as the care of their feathered pets seems terribly lacking - parakeets all puffed up as if cold or sick, a canary all alone in a tiny cage at the bottom of the rack. I felt so sorry for them all and would have expected better care - Are pet shops not regulated and checked on to make sure the animals are healthy enough to be sold? So sad!! read more

My pup is a year old and we've used the Chesterfield location for that long. The staff is very friendly considering I have a hyper and lovable dog that always wants to say hi. Rebecca in grooming is so good with my dog even when she comes in for just a bath and brush if she's available she will take her. My dog Cocoa adores her and she takes great care of her. I always use Rebecca and she's super sweet and great to work with. On occasion I use a competitor but only for food since Petsmart doesn't carry that brand. read more

I have 3 things to review about. Before I do, I had come to Petsmart for 10 years with my other dog and had never had an issue. However, my dog had since passed and this was the first time with my new pet. First, when I called to make the appointment I asked how much the furminator package would cost. Alexis had a hard time narrowing that down for me. Then told me that since it was our first time there were coupons on the counter it would be 20 dollars off the package. I wasn't looking for a discount but was pleased about the coupon. However, when I went to pick up my dog, she reveals that I have to spend 20 dollars to purchase the coupon. This is not what she explained on the phone. I felt that she was out to deceive with her spiel. Next, I am highly sensitive to perfume. It was in my records to not spray my dog ,but it was with my since deceased pet. I did not remind them until they called to tell me my pet was ready. They said it was too late. I explained that I am allergic and I would have to go home and rebathe my dog. Response was ok. No offer to rinse my dog to save me the problems. Even at the register with the supervisor standing there I expressed my concerns. She asked if they rinsed it off. I told her they didn't and explained the phone call. Her and the cashier stared at each other then charged me in full without having them rinse the dog. The only reason that I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was that the furminator was successful. Nails were done ok, but were still super rough. Not the quality I would expect. I would take your business elsewhere. read more

I went here to get some cat stuff since I was over that way. I usually go to the one on hall road. Mind you the store was very slow only a few customers. I took a look at there cats while I was in and they only had a black and a grey cat and there litter box was absolutely disgusting looked like it hadn't been changed in days! I understand most places are understaffed but that should be a mandatory job right at open and at close as well and throughout the day. Brittany in grooming called me at 9:30am to ask me to bring my dog in early today even though he had a 3pm appointment with her. When I arrived I saw the list of names she had to groom and inquired about him being brought in early. She apparently was overbooked but instead of telling me that on the phone and rescheduling she expected to groom my dog between the other appointments and expected me to leave him there DOUBLE the normal amount of time. As I stated my concern she said she didn't have enough time to groom all the dogs today and she would be canceling my appointment. I agreed she wouldn't be grooming my dog today and she continued to yell at me as I left the grooming area. It was a simple mistake that could have been easily resolved with the truth in the original call. Shame on you for expecting me to leave my dog for 2 extra hours due to your error. PetSmart is great but Brittany only deserves 1 star. read more

We came here to buy a bearded dragon and all of the supplies. We had previously purchased the tank with everything we needed. The only things we were missing were the decorations,food,and the bearded dragon itself. The worker that helped us was extremely helpful and gave us everything else we needed and what was the best thing. She made everything extremely easy. read more

I love this store I used to go to the one in Utica but the people in grooming were so rude I stopped going there and switch to here. I've had a few different groomers and they've all been great but I try to see Becky since my dog seems the most comfortable with her and she seems to be very thorough and polite. My dog doesn't need a lot of grooming since she has long hair but she still needs a bath and some trimming & is very nervous about going there so I'm glad I feel comfortable leaving her with nice people! read more

I think they are waaaay over priced for what you get. It's $12 for a nail trim and grinding and I've found the exact same services for $5 several other places. Also, the last time I brought my dog there, they did not trim/grind her nails properly. What really pushed me over the edge was when the staff lied to my fiance and told him that our dog's paper's were "expired" and she couldn't get her nails trimmed until we brought up to date vaccination papers. (I had literally just taken my dog to this exact location 2-3 weeks prior.) We provided up to date vaccination papers several months prior, and it really felt like they were refusing our business because it was closer to closing time. That's okay, there's plenty of other groomers we can take her to. You lost a loyal customer Pet Smart! read more

Will never take my dog to this location again for a grooming. Unless your dog is not timid or shy and has been spade or neutered, the groomers make for an uncomfortable experience. I took my dog in this past week for his grooming. He's a Malti Poo, yes, he gets nervous and scared, everyone I've talked to about this says their pet does also. They were late on his grooming as they said a groomer had called in. However, the comments made by one groomer in particular I think went a little over and above and made my experience horrible. First, she mentioned how it was a little hard to work with him because he is nervous and scared and proceeded to mention I need to get him socialized more with other animals as he according to her is too young to act like this. Then upon coming back to pick him up, she then asked are you considering having him neutered?!? I said no, we've not thought about it. She proceeded to give her advice that we should consider it and that might help also with his behavior. There were 3 groomers on staff at time, the other 2 mentioned nothing, she was the only one giving HER advice. I felt awkward and as if I had done something wrong. I asked did something happen, did he bite someone?!? She said no, he's just very scared and nervous. I am very displeased with their grooming service and will not return. My dog was somewhat upset after bringing him back home so I do not know if he was made to feel uncomfortable also. This was his 3rd visit to this location, the 2nd visit alone as I had to have his sister put to sleep two months prior. read more
