While this pet store may be part of a large franchise, the workers within it treat all of their customers like they and their pets are important to them. The store carries a wide variety of pet food and accessories and employees there are very knowledgeable about their products. The groomers and vets are always patient with the animals they handle and Bella has been wonderful with one of our staff's rescue dog, Daisy. They also offer obedience training for dogs. read more

My wife and I are Over-The-Road truck drivers and find it very difficult to purchase quality dog food for our fur babies while over the road for 6 months at a time. When we are able to leave our trailer at the shipper/receiver, we look for your stores to resupply our truck. We discovered the "Only Natural Pet" dehydrated dog food while in one of your locations located in a western state. Not only do our 4 dogs love this dog food, but our Golden Retriever isn't allergic to it, unlike every other dog food we've tried. We went in to store# 1590, located in Decatur, AL and asked an associate that was walking the floor where this dog food was located. She said they didn't carry it in their store. This was a huge disappointment as we couldn't just go looking around in surrounding cities due to being in our truck. As we were making our way to the front door, we were met by a very friendly lady, Barbara Franz. She confirmed that they do not carry this brand of dog food. She went on to say that she could grab a box of it from another location that was about 45 miles away. My wife and I were shocked by her level of desire to help us out. We denied as that wouldn't be right of us to put another out on our behalf. She said it wasn't a problem at all as she wanted to see an associate that she hadn't seen in a while. She said that she would have the box of food for us the following morning. We gave our information and low and behold, we get a phone call letting us know the food was at the store. Due to staying the night in our truck in the stores parking lot, I was able to walk in and get it with ease. As the, I think, the assistant manager, Jakob Read, watched the dog food being rung up, he noticed that there was an error on the price and corrected it right away without hesitation. I went to use a $10 coupon, that I didn't realize wasn't good until the following day, and the register clerk pointed out that I couldn't use it yet. Because the coupon was only good for the month, I wouldn't be able to use it, as we most likely wouldn't be able to find a truck friendly store before we needed to restock the truck. I looked at Jakob and told him to cancel the transaction and that I would try and be back the following day after I made my delivery and he told me to wait a minute. He went and talked to Mrs Franz and she told him to override it and let me use the coupon. WOW, this store just amazed me from start to finish, making us feel that we were indeed a valued customer. From the first associate we made contact with, to the transaction, the customer service was superb and we're forever grateful for Mrs Franz and he beautiful spirit she carries about her! I come here at least once a month now that my furbaby is too spoiled to eat regular dog food. This is the only store that I've been able to find the refrigerated dog food. I'm willing to splurge on this stuff because it's more nutritious than the Moist n Meaty she would eat; and it satisfies her enough where she only wants to eat once a day now. Every time I come in this store I am greeted instantly by an associate and offered help. They've always been friendly and helpful here. The store is clean and doesn't smell horrid like some pet supply stores. It's conveniently located towards the end of a shopping center and towards the end of the busy Beltline so you don't have to fight too much traffic like in other areas. I just wish I lived closer to a PetSmart so I wouldn't have to stock up on a month's worth of food at a time. read more

Pet smart has knowledgeable staff that seem like they really care about their job and animals. We always feel welcomed when we shop there.

A really good pet store and great location. Staff are always smiling and offer help quickly. I do aquarium water tests here as well as shop for other pet supplies and have always left feeling good about the visit and the services received. Hopefully other Petsmart locations operate this well and with the level of professionalism, knowledge and customer service focus. Great Job!.... read more

If I could leave no stars I would - On our 3rd trip to bring in one of our dogs for grooming we had issues. She has a front leg she does not use so to assist her in standing we bring a carpet square for her to stand on. On our first visit (without the carpet square) Morgan was able to bath and groom our dog she needed help but was able to do this. Second visit with carpet square Erin was able to bath and groom her. No problems on either visit. On this visit 12 minutes after her appointment time we were called and told they could not bath or groom her because it was her leg (not the one she doesn't use) was twitching so the floor manager said they could not do anything we had to pick her up. When we picked her up Rebecca argued with me on what had happened on the 1st and 2nd visits and who had done her grooming. Not only have you lost us as grooming customers we will NEVER step foot in another Petsmart ever. And we will be sure to tell as many people as possible about this experience. When calling the store to complain Store manager Barbara argued with me to say "that is not exactly what happened" this is unacceptable. read more

I recently bought a puppy, so I had many questions to ask the Staff at the Decatur PetSmart. I found the Staff very, very helpful in all areas of having a new puppy. (It has been about 45yrs. since I had a dog, so I am basically clueless) I purchased the supplies prior to getting the puppy, but I still needed help with treats, bones, etc. Plus, I learned a lot about the new flea treatments for dogs (I have 2 cats, so I am familiar with cat treatments - but I learned about the Serento collar!!) Anyway, I ended up taking the Dog Parenting 101 class and plan to sign my puppy up for the Puppy, Intermediate and Advanced classes. I want to have my puppy as a Therapy Dog, eventually. I learned a lot in the 101 class and have my puppy doing the "sit" command and sort of doing the "watch" command. She is a 15 week old Yorkshire Terrier and amazes me every day!! I just want to thank the PetSmart Staff (about 4-5 people in all) that have helped me muddle through and become a proud dog owner!! read more

I came all the way from Rogersville to get a better selection of fish. When I got here I looked around for a little while to figure out what I wanted. When I got ready to get fish there was no employee to be found. After walking around the store for 15 at least I found 3 or 4 of them having a little rendezvous in one of the back aisles and didn't want to interrupt their good time. After being asked if I needed anything I told the lady I wanted to buy some fish. This employee has the worst attitude I have ever seen when dealing with an employee. No smile, no happy tone, and she got smart with me and while huffing and puffing every word I said. Stomping on her ladder getting the fish up top. Once I finally got my fish I got to the cashier and he had an attitude too. I will not be going back here unless it's to return my fish that are under guarantee. read more
