Came here for my dog's first ever grooming appointment and for starters I had an appointment with someone else, but ended up getting Sue S. She was very rude as soon as I walked in, ignored all the warnings about my dog that was shared, Kept telling me to leave the area while checking in my dog? which was very rude and unwelcoming. The way she was handling my dog and was already annoyed with her within 5 minutes was concerning to me. At the end of the appointment, Sue decided to go on a whole nasty rant and tell me that I am to blame for my dog anxious behavior on her FIRST appointment. Sue told me to never bring my dog here again myself?? To let someone else do it because apparently I am the reason my dog is annoying her. After 30 minutes with my dog, she feels so confident to self diagnose me and my dog.Then proceeds to keep being nasty and rude to the point where others told her to stop!! I got a package, the appointment said it would be 1-2 hour. It ended in less than 30 mins. I checked my dog in the car. Paws not trimmed, Didn't bother to dull her nails either. The package contained a lot of services but I am positive only about 2 of those services got done. I am very upset about this. Do not bring your dog to this location, They don't complete the job, the place is unsanitary and overall not welcoming. Sue is always at the door on the computer when you first walk in. Purchased two fish on 7/4, one died overnight. Drove to store to exchange. Got back home and the other fish had also died. Came back to store to exchange. This time I was told I had to pay a difference in cost of the fish from yesterday to today. Same girl cashed me out both times. I asked to speak to the manager. She claimed she was the manager and that there is nothing they could do. Only offered number to customer support which wasn't even the right number. I will never shop at this store again. One girl was brushing hair off her station, causing hair dust to float through the air. I have a hypoallergenic dog for a reason! CLEAN UP THE PLACE!!!!! grooming of 20 lb mini goldendoodle left her with razor burns inside the hind legs and surrounding area; hygiene cut appears to be done with a hot or dull razor leaving the area red and swollen. I don't know what was used to remove hair between the pads on her front paws but they were injured! I arrived after 3 1/2 hrs to see the groomer wrestling with the dog trying to clip the front paws...too ruff! I stepped into the salon and told her to stop immediately. I brought my two dogs a miniature poodle and a cockapoo to get groomed for the first time at this PetSmart grooming salon for the Halloween special they were promoting at the time. When I dropped off my dogs the experience was pleasant for the most part and the groomer was welcoming and friendly. When I went to pick them up the groomer who groomed them wasn't there and they only had 2 people working in the salon and a long line of customers waiting to pick their dogs up. So it was not a very pleasant experience. The grooming salon is by far the worst I have ever experienced in regards to the cleanliness. There was hair everywhere even on the computer, keyboards all and all over the floor. I couldn't barely breath in there and it smelled horrible, I fact a kid walked it and said "it smells weird in here". Which I thought was hilarious because I was thinking the same thing. It was so disgusting and dirty with hair all over the place. I felt itchy all over after leaving the salon and while I was in their waiting for my dogs I almost had to wait outside because the smell was making me nauseous. When I got home I felt so dirty and gross and was so itchy that I had to take a shower to get the stench and residual hair particles off me and change my clothes. I've shopped at this store since 2004. Finding an employee to assist may involve a wait - they always seem to be either understaffed or busy - but they are eager to help when you find someone. Store offers good deals, will order items for you, and they are VERY supportive of local animal tescues. I adopted a cat at one of their events. I've always been a loyal PetSmart grooming patron (like once a month for all 3 of my dogs) and I've never had any issues except for today. Today the lady, Sue, who took care of my morkie, Oakley was ridiculously rude to us. Oakley had some mats (NOT A LOT- it's been a month since he was last there) and needed to be shaved, which I understand. Sue for some reason decided to be condescending and hateful towards us. She acted as if it was our fault he was matted and was frustrated because mats require "extra time and work". I get that it can be painful to try to brush mats out so it is better for the dog to shave them, totally understandable. Sue even went so far as to tell me to put a sweater on my dog to "COVER UP" the haircut that she was about to give him. When I later came to pick my dogs up and confronted Sue about her hateful attitude towards me that morning she acted as though she couldn't care less, even responding with "when he was matted?" When I said I didn't appreciate when she was rude to us. Anyway, everybody else at this PetSmart grooming salon is awesome. Are the same folks still running this place? We use to take our dogs there all the time and loved them and they seem to love our dogs. Now they blatantly lie about not receiving our reservation until the day we are scheduled to drop them off when it's an automated process that we completed several days ago?! I'm SO GLAD to have a place to take the dogs to get their Nails trimmed! I used to take them to the vet, and they just took them to "the back," clipped them rough and out the door they went. At PetSmart I had their nails clipped, then grind down, like having them filed, which is way nicer than they do at the Vet. Additionally I got to stand there and watch, which made us all more comfortable. I paid an extra few bucks and got the "package" deal which included the Clip, Grind, Ear Cleaning, Bandana, and a "Spritz" of cologne. Sweet! I am very please with their groomers, I also appreciate the fact that they help unwanted cats. One pet peeve is with customer informing. When customers come to buy a pet they need to be informed on the water conditions that the specific fish requires, such as PH and tank mates that they are compatible with especially with Cichlids. pet stores should NOT sell Chinchillas especially when not providing the customer with facts such as they live 20 years, are expensive to keep humanly and are nocturnal. As a dog mommy my baby's health is very important! And I must say banfield in Petsmart does an awesome job! He's had multiple growths removed and gets all his medical needs handled at banfield and I have no complaints. He was with Dr Perry for both procedures and she is so sweet and loving to my baby. If you have a fur baby or thinking about getting one then banfield is the way to go plus they have great insurance plans that will save you a ton! read more

Took my Pomeranian to get a teddy bear cut. He was shaved bare. He had chunks of spots much shorter than the other places he was shaved. It is completely uneven. It was choppy and way too short for what I had asked for. I even showed a picture of the exact cut I wanted and it looked nothing like it. He was nicked and had blood spots in his belly where she unevenly shaved completely bald. We dropped him off at 5 and not hearing from them 3 and a half hrs later went to see what was going on and she was still cutting him. Horrible experience. read more

So I am not gonna lie, I am not a huge fan of Petsmart(not because of this specific store but just in general) but I gotta say, I am really glad I took Teddy here for his haircut today. I barely take Teddy to the grooming place just because he gets super nervous whenever random people touch him and you know, I just don't want him to go thru all that crazy dramatic experience. But today, I thought that it's about that time to get his haircut done at the grooming place(I usually shave him at my house lol) and I decided to take him to Petsmart in Garner. I looked up their price and menu online first and then called them to make an appointment. I did not expect to take Teddy there today since its Sunday and I thought that they would be super busy, but well well well, they had some available spots and lady who was on the phone helped me book Teddy's haircut appointment. Few hours later, I got there with Teddy's vaccine paper and Kelsey took Teddy inside. She said she would call me once everything is done. I got a call like 3 hrs later and then when I got there to pick Teddy up, Teddy came out with this amazingly cute haircut and it just melted my heart:) This was his second time getting his haircut at Petsmart and I LOVED his new haircut; Kelsey did such a great job shaving Teddy's body(everything looks so even), tail, legs, and trimming face area. I was so happy with Teddy's new haircut and price was pretty reasonable too. Teddy got too excited when I got there, so he peed several times in Petsmart... I felt so bad but I def would come back for his haircut again! read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! The grooming services at this location are HORRIBLE! Both times that we have taken our husky to get groomed here they have called us saying they are having problems with him when we have never received this information before. My dog was terrified to come out from the cage and when he finally did he was running out the door to leave. All of the ladies working had the worst attitudes towards us and gave us their unnecessary opinion about my dog telling me to take him somewhere where they can sedate him to groom him. Never again will we be returning to this store. read more

My parents have used this location since 2008 when obtaining Domino as a pet dog. My mother continued to use PetSmart even after my father's passing. My parents have spent a number of dollars on pet supplies, clothing, toys, and other accessories. Recently my mother has purchased dog food that was unopened. Today, after Domino's unexpected & sudden passing, my mom brought the food back. She did not have a receipt and thought since it was a recent purchase, and unopened, she could return the product. The team responded in an uncaring manner stating policy is that she can receive a gift card to the store, and could not receive her $ back. My mom explained the situation, and received lack of sympathy towards the situation especially since she will not likely use the $70 gift card being she no longer has a pet. This made what was already a sad day even harder. I would recommend Banfield, but I will not recommend PetSmart to others, and will share this experience via word of mouth. read more

Don't go here. The groomers do whatever they want to your animals and don't pay attention to them. I saw two dogs attack each other because they "forgot" they hadn't secured a dog on the floor. Then it happened with 2 other dogs, one of which latched on to the others neck! All of this happened in less than 10 minutes. At least four of the groomers rough handle the dogs they groom, and leave the terrified shaking animals alone on the table unattended. I'm sure all the animal lovers out there know the hanging hazard for unattended, improperly restrained dogs on grooming tables. I had taken my dog in and asked for just his nails to be clipped and groomed. I walked in as the woman was pouring ear cleaner directly into his ear drum. I have my dog on an ear cleaning regimen, he did not need to have their poor quality solution forced on him. They also sprayed him with what I can only assume was 15 tons of cologne. When she handed him back to me it overwhelmed my nose and mouth. It immediately gave me a headache, and I became nauseated. I can only assume how awful it made my pup feel. They did not ask me if they could assault my dog with their awful grooming techniques and did not apologize. The general manager practically told me to he didn't care, and did not offer to reprimand the groomer or apologize to me in any way. I will be going back in to inform the "salon manager", she doesn't even deserve that title, myself of their shoddy and dangerous handling of these poor pups. I will also be calling corporate, and looking into the possible validity of a lawsuit. That seems to be the only thing that gets through to soulless corporations. These people do not care about animals, they also know very little about animals. They should be closed down because they are a sham of a pet store. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. I went in yesterday because my cat left front nail broke. I had an appointment at 3:30 And didn't see the doctor until four. A nurse or front desk personal never came to say they'll be right with me. I was told they'll have to trim my cat front nail down, which meant administrating a sedative and a few hours of monitoring. Which WAS A LIE. I was told to leave my cat and pick him up in a few HOURS. 37 minutes went by and I got a call saying he's ready. When I get there, I noticed my cat limping. They cut down his BACK nail and he was bleeding badly. I explained what I came in for and made it VERY clear I was there for only one nail. They were dismissive and passive. I was charged 300 hundred dollars and not even a sorry. I will be taking this up with their General manager . I should have NOT BEEN CHARGED. read more

Just moving to Clayton, my husband and I needed to find a place to buy our regular dog food. We have been to this Petsmart once or twice before and every time we go, the registers are always clogged up. All of them are open with one or two people in line but they take forever to process transactions and get through. During this trip, we switch lines several times, finally getting checked out in a decent time on the third register. Other than check out times, things seem like a normal PetSmart. I do not trust their grooming or Banfield, as I have heard negative things about both, but the food choices for pets are pretty good. read more

When I came into the grooming dept for the first time I was thrilled that it not only Looked head and shoulders above the Timber dr store but I was Very please when upon looking at the dogs (all tables were busy) being groomed it was obvious that not one dog felt stressed! The place was even clean in spite of being so busy. This is now the only place I'll take my dogs. They are great With the dogs and not just To the dogs. Attitude of employees here (through out) are always helpful and in good cheer. I have fish and never a problem there either. Perhaps that reviewer saw the fish on "delivery day" that's when a new shipment of fish is delivered and it's not unusual for a good amount of them to be in really bad shape or dead after the ordeal of shipping but they'd still place them all in tanks to give the live ones a chance, Then pick out the others. read more

Not sure if Garner, NC Petsmart at White Oak knows what they are doing. Called ahead, got 2 appointments, informed them that our female was pregnant and our male had a small laceration on his paw and they said bring them in. .Get there, there's no appointments, they could not bath the male because the laceration could get infected and they could not bath our female because they could possibly terminate her pregnancy. Ok, I understand the infection reason but I'm not sure how bathing a dog will terminate a pregnancy unless you plan on beating her? Not good for business. Definitely will find somewhere else to take our dogs. read more

DO NOT BUY FISH HERE!!! I was new to fish and decided to get a pet betta. They stored them on a shelf in dirty little containers and when i went back a few days later they were in a tank they barley moved and were sad looking but the lady who worked there said that's the natural behavior of bettas (i didn't know it wasn't) the fish barley had any tail left, which should have been my first clue, and 3 days later my betta died of a disease he had gotten at the pet shop in which his scales turned white and shed off and that is definitely not normal. read more

Don't support them by buying fish here. They don't care about the health of their fish. I went in today to buy a betta fish and about 20 of 22 of them were dead. And those 2 looked sick. So I wandered back to the fishtanks and there were dead fish floating in several tanks. Every fish I've ever bought from them died within one month. They buy them in bulk so they don't care about keeping them healthy. Please find a local fish store that cares about the quality not quantity of the fish. read more

I took my dog to get her haircut at this petsmart location, her groomer was Leann and she did an amazing job. She was friendly with my dog and seemed interested in what i wanted. My dog looked great when she left and she was happy as can be. I'll be coming back to her from now on. read more
