Excellent service! The groomers at PetSmart are all very good, and my dog seems to like going there.

My wife and I both have had dogs all our lives. But we never took the time to train them properly…read more When our old dog died, we knew we wanted another dog or two. This time though, we wanted to train them. Our vet recommended Drop the Leash. I liked that Valeria came to our house, rather than taking the dogs out of their own safe environment. Within minutes of Valeria working with the pups, they were responding to her instructions. It just got better from there. We took the six week course and not only did my wife and I look forward to Valeria coming, so did the pups. The end results were more than we imagined. We continue to work with the pups, now that the official training is over. Drop the Leash gave us, and our pups, the tools to make our lives together better. When we decide we can't live without another dog, we will call Drop the Leash before we go to pick the dog up. I highly recommend calling Valeria for your new dogs or dogs that have happens you want to break. She will get the job done. Greg & Vickie Baker

DTE's owner and trainer doesn't know how to train dogs so owners can keep them under control. The…read moreproof: his own dogs. April 7, 2024, Grand Traverse County Civic Center. The owner set up a tent near the entrance to promote his service during the Up North Lake & Cottage Show. His two unleashed terriers are under the tent. I'm walking my leashed terrier 20-30 feet away. She didn't make a sound at his dogs. Suddenly, they charge out, run across the lawn, and chase my dog. She's been attacked by dogs in the past, so she's scared to death and trying to get away from them. Only she can't, because I'm trying to pull in the leash to pick her up. The owner made no move to stop his dogs; he just stood there speaking with prospective customers. After I gathered up my dog, he called out "Sorry, they just wanted to play." Here's what shows the owner doesn't know what he's doing: my dog didn't know they were playing; she thought she was being attacked. If the owner's dogs had caught her, she'd have defended herself by biting them. "Play time" would have been over! His dogs might have backed off. Or they might have attacked my dog, mauled her, and either killed her or required me to euthanize her. Irresponsible owners always say "My dog just wants to play" when their dog is out of control. The problem is, they can't know whether the pet their dog is chasing "just wants to play;" that dog may fight instead. If DTE's owner wants to let his dogs play, he should have known to take them to a dog park. Instead, he let them run loose at the Civic Center. And he couldn't control them off the leash. As a result, they went after another dog, creating an unpredictable situation which could have ended tragically. If you want your dog trained, find someone who knows what they're doing. Don't trust DTE's owner/trainer. His own dogs and bad judgement prove that he doesn't.
