I been a customer for over 10 yrs. Sarah is the perfect groomer. But today I scheduled with Danny because Sarah was booked. I called to let her know I would be 15 mins late but it was actual 18. As soon as I walked in she wanted to reschedule me. I tried to explain myself but it turned into a heated argument. This isn't the first time. I had an encounter with her. I totaled my car some years back and I didnt have a leash. When I picked her up she tried to scold me about nit having a leash, not even knowing my situatlon. All my belongings were in the car, including the leash. I have always had a great experience, but today was crazy. When working with the public you should always have good customer service. We scored a coupon for our pooch's birthday and decided to use the occasion to stock up on some treats for the little scamp. We were down on this side of town so it made sense to hit up this PetSmart, though maybe I should have waited and just went to the Grafton store instead. The entire time we were there, from walking in the front door to exiting the store, the checkout line was more than half a dozen customers deep and not moving quickly. There was a second register open briefly but the wait time was not acceptable for a random Sunday afternoon in January--I'd hate to see this store at Christmastime! Good prices, staff is helpful without being intrusive or judgmental (no I'm not going to buy the most expense cat food, my cats are lucky I rescued them in the first place. I stick to my vet's recommendations). They've more or less followed COVID19 precautions, and there's more than adequate parking. Every time I come in here, some dog aggressively sniffs me in embarrassing areas but I guess that's not PetSmart's fault. It might be my filet mignon cologne. read more

While I do prefer to purchase most of what my pets need at a locally owned pet shop that is conveniently located right in my 'hood--I do still go to PetSmart for dog food. Why? Because when you're able to find a grain free dog food that completely agrees with all three of your dogs (yes...3!) digestive tracks--you stick with it. PetSmart carries Authority grain free dog food. It's some of the most reasonably priced grain free dog food, while still being high quality. All three of my dogs love it and have no digestive problems from it (yay!). Beyond that, PetSmart is always impeccably clean and offers swift service. In addition, they've have partnered with ElmBrook Humane Society to help find forever homes for area cats and so you can adopt a cat directly at PetSmart. I used to go to the Brookfield store for my big bag of dry food for my Buddy after I was told that they would have the specific one in stock always but that changed and I couldn't find it the last couple of times so I'm trying this location. I had a gift card to use and I thought I would try my luck here, I keep a picture on my phone because the brand has so many options that look and sound similar so I get the right one and there it was on the shelf. I might be imagining but the same bag at Brookfield was $39 the last time I thought one but $31.99 with the perks card here. I did like the contrast from the Brookfield store because I could walk around with out every employee passing me asking if the can help me, just let me look around. The store was clean and a whopping three registers were open because they were busy which was nice. I hated looking at the sad looking beat down white cat that wouldn't even look at me when I tried to interact with it. Took my 17 year old dog here this morning for her grooming. She's gone there without issues for 4 years. Today however we were turned away because "she's too old to be groomed here you need to take her somewhere else"! Mind you we go for short walks daily she has no problems standing and gets groomed on a regular basis. More and more issues with this place. Do not take your babies here. read more

I love this place! They are all so kind here the groomers and the employees! My dog is jumpy and I'm trying to work with him and they never once make me feel bad for it! They are great there and I will go there for life!! So happy with this place! I recommend the groomers they are lovely!! I'm actually a fan of PetSmart despite the fact that they sell live animals. However, I do understand the incredible excitement that kids and even adults experience when they see something new that needs to be in their life. If it weren't for local pet shops, I'd never have had hamsters, hermit crabs, fish or reptiles growing up. And not only do they carry those animals and birds, there is a humane society that rents an area to help place adoptable cats. And on various weekends they hold adoption events to help local rescues to adopt out puppies and dogs. PetSmart employees do not run these areas, so I can't comment on the adoptables. I will say that I love how they work with the community organizations to place these pets into new happy homes. Now for the store itself. I normally come here as a "second best" option because I do prefer another over PetSmart, but it's not for lack of selection. In fact, I come here quite often for the great sales and available holiday merchandise. They carry all the big names in food for both cats and dogs by the aisle full, as well as some of the brands I wish they'd avoid - you know the ones. Unhealthy, full of yuck, can be found in many grocery markets. That is part of the appeal though as they have food and accessories in all price ranges. Toys! I love the selection of toys! When I had cats, this was my haven. Mine liked particular items and I always found them here. The same can be said for my rabbits. While they took a long time to get quality products for rabbits, I can honestly say that at least this store is on the ball. Speaking of balls, there is such a large selection of dog toys for all life stages and activity levels. Keep your eyes peeled for bins of discounted items throughout the store. I almost never pay full price for a dog toy here. For all pets though, this is a good one-stop shop for basics. Live pets, well, I am not a fan of this as much anymore but at least they appear healthy. I very rarely see dead fish in tanks and the hamsters always appear to be free of wet tail and mucky eye issues. The budgies always look ok and not too distressed, but I'm not a bird expert. I am quite happy with the customer service at this particular store. When I found out we were approved to adopt a puppy, I came to PetSmart to get all the necessities. I showed up 15 minutes before close and panicked over what I'd need. When checking out, the young woman at the register ended up saving me over $100 on supplies by introducing me to the "new puppy kit" full of coupons. They were good for months too. She was sympathetic to my stress and not upset at how late I was in the store(I normally don't do this). This is just one example of great service. I've had my share of it over the years. This location also offers grooming and puppy classes. I have not needed to use these services so I cannot speak of the quality. Overall, this is a fun store with a large selection of supplies, food and toys. It's clean and tidy and the services have always been great for me. I also enjoy the community involvement. Don't knock it because it's a chain. Support the local mom & pop shops, but also embrace the convenience and selection that PetSmart can offer. Edit to add for grooming: I don't bring Darwin in too often for grooming because he has a naturally silky and easy coat to maintain. However, and it isn't too terrible, but other dogs smells seem to stick to him. Probably from slobber and such due to roughhousing. After an hour of doggie spa services he smells great and is super fluffy and soft. He's never overly stressed and I always get a good report on his behavior/cooperation. This is regarding online ordering at PetSmart. Today, as usual, there was an issue with online ordering. They advertised "lucky me, 17% off one single item." There's an asterisk, presumably to explain the fine print. Nowhere is there an explanation of what's excluded. Most irritating is that there's no promo code to enter at checkout nor is one entered automatically. When I clicked the "lucky me" ad, it took me back to the main page. I'm thinking this is the last straw for PetSmart. Every single time I try to order online, something goes wrong. All I wanted were some cat treats! Not today I guess. I like their location because they are right off a main road which makes it easier to get there. I have never had an issue with their employees or their service and coming here is quite pleasant. I can walk around and look at things without being harassed by employees every 5 minutes. They do a good job keeping the store clean as well. I would, however, like to see more variety / selection but that's a minimal negative. read more

It is ridiculous that Pit Bulls are singled out and are not allowed in the store :( My daughter was kicked out for no reason other than the breed of her dog. Do not try and purchase fish at this store. My children and I were very rudely talked to when trying to purchase fish. My son was even in tears because he had picked out a fish. Even though I am a veteran fish owner and have multiple tanks in my house, I was were refused sale on the specific fish I wanted. Within 12 hours, the only fish I was told I could purchase died. I was not offered a refund and, when I tried again to purchase the original type of fish that I wanted, again I was refused. I do not understand why there are fish for sale and yet, no one can purchase them unless they have a '75 gallon tank.' The tanks at the store have 20-100 fish in them and are (at the most) 10 gallons. read more

I wish I could give a zero. The vet staff is so disrespectful and rude. If you ask a question and interrupt their talking about coworkers and customers disrespectfully, they literally go out of their way to avoid you, to the point other customers feel the need to point it out. You walk in clueless with no direction whatsoever, the staff WON'T help you and continue to leave you unaware of where to go or what to do. You are far better off waiting and making an appointment with Spirit if 76th Vet ( Sorry Spirit, time crunch). Walk in Saturday hours were so great for my schedule, but there is no way I will EVER go back to this PETCO. Unfortunately my PETCO doesn't have vet services , because they're always available and respectful! read more

We did our puppy and intermediate training classes with Jay and he was amazing- super knowledgeable and helped our difficult pup to become well-behaved. We get compliments all the time. They stock out rate dog food and have great deals in treats. I only give it a four because we tried the groomers and it took forever and they weren't friendly or helpful. read more

Rude grooming staff! I have been a loyal customer buying my pet supplies, food and bringing my dog here for grooming. Apparently this isn't appreciated if you aren't on time every single time, as I received a call while on my way to this pet smart location with my dog for a grooming appointment. Received the call 5 minutes past my scheduled time and informed that I was on my way. I Informed the staff member who called me that I was sorry we were running late but we were already on our way. She asked how many minutes away we were and I said about 5 and asked if it was too late to still come? She said only if you can make if in less than 5 minutes. I booked this appointment online the day before service 10/14 and there were still still quite a few appointments available for the day of service 10/15. She did not offer to bump me to a later appointment time, instead only offered this ultimatum of I to make it in less than 5 minutes to keep my appointment. Since I am unwilling to drive in a fashion that is unsafe to myself and others to make it to a dog grooming appointment in order ensure a less than 5 minute arrival time I turned around and went home. In addition I am also unwilling to drop off and leave my dog with staff who are so unaccommodating as she is older, with vision and hearing problem. Such impatient and outright rude staff members probably wouldn't have the compassion I expect for a rescue dog. Especially so, since when I got home and checked online and their were still later appointment times available. read more

Took my cat here to get her claws trimmed and they were so good with her. She let the girl do what she needed to do and even snuggled with her when they were done. I like a place that makes your pet feel comfy, and not scared. Price was also great, only $12. for just the claws. I would recommend them to anyone. :) read more

I have taken my dog here plenty of times for grooming (basic bath) and she has never had a problem (with the kennels and all) but all of a sudden the last few times I've taken her, she's come out worse than she was when I brought her in. Corporate needs to take a look at the grooming department...something is not right there. read more

I have had my goldendoodle groomed several times at a different Petsmart and had no issues. I moved to Wisconsin and decided to have my dog groomed this evening. I have never had such a terrible experience. I dropped my dog off at 5:50pm with a full review of what my dog's cut should look like, that he doesn't like the automatic dryer, etc. She was very thorough. I received a phone call at 7:20 to call her back immediately. I called and she said that she gave him a bath but was unable to groom him tonight because he was not dry (he didn't like the dryer). She said she could keep him another 2-3 hours (past closing) to finish up or schedule another day. She requested that I wait until 9 to pick him up so he could dry more. I was hesitant to wait until 9 to pick him up but could not get there to pick him up. Two groomers were chatting around 1 dog that another groomer was working on when I got there. Heather brought out my dog, who was soaking wet and drooling. He was there 3 hours and only had a bath. He sat in a kennel the rest of the time because they were too busy. They couldn't at least trim his nails or clean his ears? Try hand drying him or anything? In three hours? Very disappointed, not going back. I could have bathed him at home in 20 mins and he would have been the exact same without all the stress. The manager blamed it on them being so busy. My question is, why book so many dogs for 2 people then? I rather have waited until they could actually get to my dog. End of rant. read more

I've taken my 15 year old small dog ALL over town for groomings and Petsmart by Southridge is the place I've settled on. My dog does not like other dogs and Petsmart is good about keeping the dogs separated. What even more important to me, is that the groomers all seem to enjoy their jobs and each other. They seem to be well trained too- not newbies. I've been to a lot of other places where the employees seem crabby or grouchy or there is just a depressing vibe about the place. Petsmart has good vibes, in my opinion. I figure that if the employees are happy, they are more likely to treat my dog with kindness. My dog is pretty old, so that is very important to me. Plus, it seems to be all women that work in there- which is important because my dog does not like men so much. Yeah, its expensive to go there compared to some other places I've been to, but I think the positive, lower stress experience for my dog is worth it. read more
