We were there first thing in the morning and treated professionally, respectfully and politely. Our first visit there the place was very clean and smelled wonderful. These dogs are not easy to groom and their recommendations as well as procedures were explained so there wasn't any confusion. Approximately 4 hour grooming. When we arrived to pick them up, both boys looked handsome and smelled amazing. They were just laying in safe location watching other dogs get the pampering they just received. We didn't want to take her to the vets to have her nails done so we went to Once Upon A Dog. Gail (owner) was so loving, gentle and kind. Her nails were overdue and Gail did such a wonderful job, so careful and professional. Grooming was done out in the open so we were able to watch, Gail talking to her the whole time. If…read moreyou have an 8:00 am appointment for grooming, expect your animal to be immediately placed in a kennel. Dogs do not go straight to bathing. Groomer and receptionist take their break at 8:00 to smoke and chat in the parking lot. Also, groomer arrives to work at 7:45 and needs a break prior to beginning the day. How do I know this? Staff thought I left as soon as my dog was dropped off. I was still in the parking lot a few minutes later, so I saw them. Groomer is lazy and doesn't bother to use shampoo or conditioner; not sure what product is supposed to be used for deshedding, but if one was used, it's definitely unscented! For basic baths, expect to pick your animal up wet, not fully cleaned, and unbrushed. $103 to have 2 dogs rinsed. I had to do about everything I paid for. Had to clean my dogs face, eyes, nose, and ears in addition to brushing. Loose debris in fur was not removed because the animals were not brushed.

I was recently informed of abuse allegations of pets at this facility. Unfortunately I know too…read morewell about wat can happen if staff is improperly trained or short staffed to protect your pet. Last October my 4 month puppy was attacked by group of dogs while outdoors in yard there. He suffered bruises internally and had to have staples in shoulder from bites to his body! I was devastated and so up upset and my puppy was traumatized. I was a client there for over 15 years and nothing was offered to cover over $500 vet bill. Be wary of where you take you furry baby..needless to say I will not be going back.
