Just want to give Michelle from the Marlton Rt 70 store a 5 star shout out review!! Michelle goes above and beyond to get me the largest feeders in the tank every time I stop in. When you have a couple of big bass that can eat a dozen of these a piece in about 30 seconds it really helps to feed them larger feeder fish. Especially since Pet Smart raised the price too .49 cents a piece. So Michelle Thank you so much for doing what you do!! read more

A great place to be trapped in due to a bad storm! I had a great time looking all around; especially at my favorite - birds! There was a darling, playful, pair of green cheek conures :) (I so unrealistically wanted to take them home!) I got our hamster some bedding, and toys for our spoiled Lovebirds. Very happy to get my llama-butted, soon to be Rastafarian Oliver the catdog in the grooming salon on a late Saturday afternoon. They recommended that time of day because they usually have less dogs in the salon. Call ahead and make sure their cat groomer is in the day and time you want to be there. I just needed his mats to be cleaned up and his nails clipped. The cat groomer was excellent - did a quick job to get his hair mats out and she even did a sanitary cut around his private bits (I won't share more, he's a bit shy when I start talking about his private bits). Now he doesn't look like Bob Marley. He looks like a very dignified Ryan Gosling. All for $20. SOLD. read more

We had our dog boarded at the PetsHotel here for 7 days (the longest she's been boarded). We were nervous at first (partially afraid that she wouldn't get good care at a "chain") but the establishment looked and felt warm and cozy for our pup and they put us at ease. We called a few times to check in and got very detailed updates and it was clear they were watching our dog carefully. They even recognized she wasn't enjoying the doggy day camp and switched to her to individual play which made her much happier. Got a nice report card at the end too. I would absolutely recommend this place for any boarding needs. read more

I never write reviews but I just had to today. My experience has always been positive with the grooming department In Marlton. They are super friendly and more important, I've witnesssd them being kind to all the animals. Today I had my Australian Shepherd groomed by Charlene. It was her first time grooming him and he can be a little challenging, chattering thru the entire appointment. Charlene recommended we give him an aggressive cut since summer is around the corner and he swims everyday. I love his long hair but I knew she was right and it would be more comfortable for him short. She did an AMAZING job! He looks like a teddy bear, we absolutely love it. I was so impressed that I had to share. 100% would recommend. read more

I have brought my Pomeranian to this PetSmart three times now. The first time, she saw Charlene and looked phenomenal. I scheduled the next appointment with Charlene as well because she's spoken so highly of when it comes to grooming Poms, however last minute they decided to switch her groomer without any notice or reasoning. She came back looking choppy all over. I made it a point to schedule and confirm her for Charlene for her third appointment only for them to switch her groomer without notice AGAIN. My dog came back with a strangely large rectangular area shaved around her butt and a hack job everywhere else. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with this place because all they do is jerk their customers around and make the dogs look absolutely horrendous. read more

ZERO stars for the Marlton Pet Hotel from Hell! When we picked up our dog, we found medication for someone else's pet in her bag! They could have killed our dog if they gave her the wrong medicine! We were horrified, to say the least! We don't even know for sure if they gave our dog the correct medicine that we had packed for her. They didn't give our dog any of the chew toys we packed for her because they said they could be a chocking hazard. Then why didn't they tell us that when we dropped off our dog instead of after the fact when we picked her up? This is the second time we have used this facility, and both times our dog seemed very stressed out when we picked her up and it took days for her to get back to her normal self. When we called to complain (especially about the medicine mix-up!), we spoke to Donna Fitzstephens, one of the managers there. First, she was very difficult to get a hold of, but when we finally did speak with her, she was rude and very condescending. She actually told us if we were unhappy, then just don't come back. I will never again take my dog for grooming at Petsmart, Route 70, in Marlton NJ. I recently took my dog for grooming and the groomer cut her paw where she needed stitches and had to take antibiotic, and a bacterial ointment for three weeks. Took her back for the second time with the same groomer to finish her cut, when I went back to pick her up, she had a pretty bad cut on her anal area. The groomer had already left and I was very upset and the manager wasn't very helpful...he treated me with very little respect. don't even deserve 1 star. told them when booking my dogs nail app that she's anxious. i arrive on time for my 5pm. i don't get seen until 5:20. we're going through the paperwork and i again mention that my dog is just really scared. the groomer got near my dog and my dog growled. they said sorry we can't see your dog tonight due to signs of aggression. i said she's scared... can't you put a muzzle on her? they claim they don't do that on the first visit and that i can reschedule and try again. are you kidding me? come AGAIN? my dog hates car rides as it is- getting her there was a terror. i understand the precautions but TELL people before they come if it it's a big enough deal that you're willing to deny service. so upset. i took off of work for this appointment. read more

My dog stayed here twice and never again. The staff are quite inattentive to a special needs dog (all of which was discussed at length before the reservation was made). They had forgotten to pack my dog's medication and had to ship it overnight. My dog has been scratching at the door of his room for what seemed like 2 days straight, his nails were filed down to the quick it seemed. They cannot give anxiety medication for the animals, even if prescribed by a licensed vet. Will not be letting my dog stay here again. read more

I don't leave too many reviews on Yelp, so when I do it's for a good reason. Well, in this case a bad one unfortunately. If you are looking for a daycare or overnight please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I only rely on this place as a last resort. This is a big chain pet supplies store who's main purpose is driven by business. If you want reliable, go to a place where they only have doggy daycare who know what they're doing. Pros -Open late (around 8:45pm) and all week/weekend. Take note: They are out of rooms playing only from around 9a-5p (I'm convinced even less time because of "feeding times"). -Rooms are actual rooms, not crates. -Reasonable prices for overnights/daycare combinations. Many 1/2 off coupons available. Cons -#1 Problem- NO CAMERAS!! The cost to add these is so minimal, the only reason you don't have these is for fear of liability. If you are that worried, you obviously are doing something wrong. -Unreliable/ inexperienced staff. It's a "job" for most and not truly care about your fur baby. -My dog came back with scratches multiple times. Not upset about the scratches since mine probably instigated, but upset they NEVER tell me when it happens. Also, why "inspect" at check-in if you "over-looked" at check-out?! -Forget to tell you they didn't feed them on purpose or forgot. My suggestion is to take your dog to Camp Bow Wow (Cherry Hill, NJ) or Villa La Paws (Maple Shade). Obviously still can have issues with any dog, but have had a much more positive results with these than Petsmart. read more

I shop at this PetSmart because it's in my town and I pass by it almost everyday going to either work or the gym. I don't particularly enjoy shopping here as I do in other PetSmarts, maybe it's just me but I can't stand seeing employees of any business sitting on the ground, in their uniform, smoking right in front of the establishment. It's tacky, trashy, low end and disgusting. Second, I always see dead or dying fish in their tanks. Last night was no exception, it's really very sad to see that as a customer, you'd think the employees would notice that and remove the dead one so the other fish aren't swimming around in there with him. My last complaint is about the customer service. To be clear I am a self sufficient shopper, I don't need you to greet me or offer me assurance - stock your shelves and I will find it myself. My issue is always at the register. The lines either go on forever or the cashier is just plain unpleasant. Last night the cashier and one other employee where having a conversation about another employee who did not replace the toilet paper in the restroom. Meanwhile the cashier kept dropping all of my stuff on the floor. Otherwise, the store is clean, bright and usually pretty well stocked. If they could just move the smokers away from the front door and get their act together at the checkout, they would be five stars. read more

My Boston Terrier, Walter goes to the PetSmart PetsHotel at least 2 days a week to burn off excess energy and to work on his socialization with other dogs. He loves it! I was a little worried about leaving him at a "mainstream" kind of place since he was used to a mom and pop doggie day care in Atlanta, but they really do a great job. Everyone I've dealt with has been professional and polite and they really seem to go out of their way to develop a rapport not only with the customers but also with the pets themselves. Once I was held up late at work and had to ask my mom to pick Walter up and they even asked her for ID before releasing him. That kid of responsibility makes me feel safe bringing him there. read more

The reptiles, birds, and rodents all look healthy and well cared for but the fish tanks are disaster. We recently went to Petsmart to buy some fish. We got 2 NEON tetras, a black kulhi Loach, 2 red minor tetras, 2 mollies, and 2 nerite snails. These went in my 60 gallon. So fare 3 of them have died. Including one of angels. Also, one of my mollies has body + tail rot. In addition, the fish in the tanks at the store were kept in overcrowded tanks; many with dead ones in them. Long story short: Found a dog in Marlton. Kept it for a night. Took it to this Pet Smart. Had it scanned for a chip. None found. Got it shots. Asked for one but was given two different one. Rabies and distemper. This Pomeranian had ticks. Got the med and ointment for it. Got two extra pills for my pups because my two pups were playing with it. Staff here is very friendly. Asked about their grooming services but this Pomeranian couldn't get cut because it had no records here. They have a 48 hour vaccination requirement. Cool beans here. It was also Memorial Day that I came in with this lost dog. Cost me about $164. The dogs owner came the next day to reclaim her dog. Didn't ask for cost of the vet fee. But gave her all the meds and also ointment for her dog with receipt of vet care. Told her to not worry about the cost. It was a good deed done to help an animal in need. Pets are like kids. Gotta open your heart to help. read more

Clean, easy, and lots of selection! The staff is very helpful and not pushy. They have a window where you can watch the dogs being trained, and a bunch of fish, cats, lizards, and snakes. I usually go to the location in Cherry Hill, since it's closer to my house, and now after coming here I'm SOOOO glad I'm near the other one. This location was not organized very well, and it seemed really dark and cluttered! It took me twenty minutes to find dog and cat food, and normally I'd be in and out in five minutes. The staff was friendly at check out, but no one asked me if I needed any help even though I was up and down almost every aisle. I went here on November 23 and November 25. Both days were just for solitary daycare but when I checked her in they said group daycare but then read it and saw she wasn't. Clearly they are not paying enough attention. Also both times she went the only collar she had on was a choker chain. And both times she was rough out with it incorrectly. And I mean hugely incorrect but different employees. They just clipped the leash on the 2 loops. Never fed it through and created no tension causing her to be able to back right out. The second time I picked her up there was about 6 other dogs in the waiting room. My dog has extreme anxiety and is fearful of other dogs, this could have resulted extremely dangerous. I complained to the petsmart manager, an older woman with grey hair down to her shoulders. She couldn't be any ruder and took shots at me for not knowing the name of who brought out my dog say"so you don't know who you dealt with?" Not once but 3 times. Very unprofessional and rude. I used them to enjoy my birthday over the holiday and will never go back. I worry they are a real safety concern and frankly could care less about their customers! Update: Tried them one more time. This time an overnight. I dropped her off on Saturday around 10 am and picked her up on Sunday at 6pm. The woman who handled my dog originally acted as though my dog was aggressive, meanwhile she was just anxious about leaving my side. Never once have I had someone treat her like she was aggressive, and especially at none of the other dozen PetSmarts we have used. I expressed to them she is not use to going to the bathroom indoors. I was concerned and she has had bladder stones before. They told me that if she did not go by tomorrow morning at 11 they would take her outside to go. The rude employee actually told me that if I wasn't comfortable with that, I could go somewhere else. Regrettably I chose to still leave her there believing them. My husband called on Sunday at almost 4 and was told she still had not gone. I was furious they still hadn't taken her out. We were planning on leaving her overnight again but I could not trust that they were going to put her out. So I went to pick her up. When I get there I checked out with the Assistant Manager Rachel who told me my dog finally did go to the bathroom when she went outside. For a second I had a sigh of relief and then I pushed harder. I asked why my dog had to wait 30 hours to relieve herself especially when 2 separate people had told me that if she didn't by 11 that she would be taken outside. She told me that they can only do outside walks when only a manager or assistant manager are there and only when they have the staff and not a lobby with people. She also said it has to be after 3 unsuccessful potty times. I was yet again shocked. I mean this is a living breathing animal, and you are in the animal business. Your first priority is the care of these animals. How uncomfortable was my dog forced to be because they didn't have perfect timing? Where does that stop? Food, water, waste management? I mean I was trying to process the thought that she may have had to wait 24 hours with their stupid process but 30 hours!?! This store treated my dog like a piece of merchandise not a living creature with needs! I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the Assistant Manager. I said well you have a manager. So, she told me she wasn't in until Tuesday and that she would have her call me. That's unacceptable to me. I asked again for the manager's name and was told it was Sherry. I am truly disgusted that Petsmart allows dogs to go 30 hours without going to the bathroom. My first experience with careless staff was bad enough and should have taught me not to go back but I tried again and will never go back. read more

Brought our beautiful curly hair poodle with a bit of doodle in for grooming. This is a service dog for our daughter who has been with us for just over a month. The groomer did not understand, at all what kind of a cut. Rather than giving her a doodle cut as we asked for the groomer shaved her! She does not look like herself at all. We can bring our own food, which is great. And we can also treat him to an ice cream while he is there. He also comes home each day with a "Pawgress Report" to let us know how he did. I brought my dog to daycamp here and I will never bring him back! They take any dogs, didnt even meet him to see if he was aggressive or not. I came to pick him up and I didn't see him in the large or small dog room. When someone finally came to help me at the counter, they didn't know where he was! As the girl is trying to figure it out, a fight is starting in the large dog room as the small woman is squirting the dogs with a water bottle trying to calm them down and she's yelling for help to get the dog out. Still, no sign of my dog. Finally another girl comes out. Said my dog threw up twice so they seperated him. Oh, thanks for calling or emailing me about it. Ive never seen my dog so happy to see me. I specifically created a Yelp account just to review my horrible experiences at this Petsmart location, which is in the ShopRite plaza in Marlton, NJ, next to Wineworks. I am only reviewing the retail portion of this location, as I have never used the PetsHotel portion of the store, and have always had decent experiences with the Banfield Pet Hospital portion, as well. I buy prescription food for my pet in large quantities, specifically, whole pallets of canned food at a time, and every single time, find myself stretching to the top shelf to pull out a pallet, with an associate within eyesight who refuses to help. Also, and more importantly, this store REFUSES TO ACCEPT PRINTED COUPONS!!! Without even attempting to scan the code on the coupon, the manager of the store claims that every valid coupon must contain the customer's PetPerks customer ID number, and therefore, the store cannot and will not accept coupons off of the Internet posted for the masses to use, without an individual customer ID typed on each coupon. This is a ridiculous policy, considering that every other Petsmart that I have patronized (Moorestown and Mt. Laurel) has on multiple occasions accepted printable coupons, without any problem or questions asked. I have been a PetPerks member for years, have an online Petsmart account with my PetPerks ID number linked to it, and have a monthly wellness plan for my pet through Banfield, and never once have I received personal printable coupons to use in the store with my individual ID number on them, either in the mail or via e-mail. With such a bogus coupon policy, this brick-and-mortar Petsmart location will be out of business in no time! Save yourself some time and aggravation and take your business to the other Petsmart locations in Moorestown and/or Mt. Laurel, where you are allowed to use printable coupons, or, better yet, shop online, where you will always find a promo code you can use towards your purchase! read more

Why does this place sell goldfish if it refuses to actually SELL them? On now 2 non-consecutive attempts, I have tried to buy goldfish...just as a fun project for my daughter and myself. At each attempt, I've gotten a series of questions regarding my tank setup (which I've sustained fish in for a couple of years and am meticulous about cleaning and upkeep) followed by what amounts to a refusal to sell me goldfish. This is two times now... I am going to be taking my business, which consisted of monthly replenishments of cat litter, food and accessories as well as fish supplies elsewhere from now on. No one likes to have their business turned away, PetSmart, especially when the person is a conscientious and caring pet owner and has been for the entirety of their life. read more
