I really like PetSmart and their employees! I came here looking for a particular item for my dog and was very happy when they had it in stock and even had several different kinds to pick from. Not knowing my dog's size, I decided on getting a size in between medium and large and it fit him perfectly! However, after using it just for a few minutes, it didn't seem to work, so I had to take it back. I love how PetSmart will give you a refund on items even if you used it once (this might not be the case for everything). I have had to take harnesses, collars, and other dog accessories back because they didn't fit and they've never given me a problem. They just ask what is wrong with the item and I just tell them it didn't work or the wrong size. Also, PetSmart honors posted prices even if they've expired. I recently bought something and noticed on my receipt that it was different than what was posted. I asked them about it and apparently, they forgot to take the sale price down. They honored the sale price for me and gave me the difference back!! That's customer service at its best!! Will continue to come back as they've always been good to me and my pet. read more

I never leave reviews but this experience has been so terrible that I'll never return to this location. First had a bad grooming appointment, left with my dog soaking wet, and nails bleeding after leaving him there for 4 hours to do a simple bath and pedicure. Gave them another shot because they're so close to my new house I scheduled a drop off appointment for comprehensive exam and allergy meds. Appointment time was at 9:15, I went back at 9:11 with my dog and nobody came to get us/take him under I went out and asked what the hold up was at 9:40! The front desk girl said "we're doing what we can with the staff we have". Okay so don't make appointment times you can't accommodate for?! Extremely rude and not apologetic at all for being so late. The entire point of me having a drop off appointment was because I have other priorities to get to in the day! Hate to be that person but it was ridiculous. Never had these problems at the Tempe Marketplace location. read more

Pet smart Pet smart. Idk where to start I'm just highly disappointed and this really raises concern about the treatment of cats they have for adoption. I recently adopted a cat from this pet smart the process was smooth and no hassle. But bringing this cat into a family of 3 others cats ,(1 week later)we have one of our cats began to show signs of sickness about 11 days after they recommended to keep the adopted isolated. We called PetSmart to ask about the health of the kitten they stated ALL cats they have a in good health (haha damn lie). Tell me why we take are sick cat the vet to find out he has a respiratory infection!! Wow money money out my pocket. Even crazier part! We took the adopted kitten to the vet to find out he was carrying a disease! Crazy part PetSmart has group of cats all caged together imagine how many people took home a sick cat! Now going forward for anyone that wants to adopt at this location be aware of the health risks these cat potential have! So I'm writing a review for their groomers: I used to go to the Petsmart off of Mayo and Scottsdale but the people here are so much nicer. Yea, the one in Scottsdale was in a nicer location but the groomers weren't very nice and didn't do that great of a job. The ones on 7th ave, however, we're always so sweet and I loved the way they cut my dogs hair. I'm definitely a returning customer there! read more

DO NOT COME HERE FOR GROOMING! I have been here a few times over the past two years and never had an issue until recently. I feel stupid for not reading the current reviews. The girl that I normally book my dog with was busy that day and I opted to get the next available and boy was that a mistake. My dog came back home with a new cut and smelling like they just sprayed him down with a water hose. They also failed to ask for an updated version of his shots (which they do in California and won't accept any pet service without providing that information). So as far as I know none of the animals that are groomed are up to date on their shots. Since my dogs cut got worse I had no choice but to take him to the vet. What should have been a $30 service turned out to be $230! Thanks Petsmart!! I also reported this to headquarters and the manager never contacted me back. Wonder why?? Sad this is an ongoing issue. Management definitely needs to be fired ASAP! read more

So I had to go to the giant pet corp I loath because no one had rodents in the area. Not for pets anyway. The sales associate Tyler was super helpful!! He was really educated and reiterated what I was told about rats over a gerbil or a hamster for a pet. He had lots of pets of his own so he knew what was up. After an hour of talking and looking for the pets new house there wasnt much to choose from for a rat. There was tons of housing for mice, gerbils, and hamsters but rats need much larger homes and cant fit in small tubes of which there was a giant array of here. They had a giant cage that was $99 which I wasnt ready to spend but I will keep it in mind if I decide to get anymore. So far this little Ratatouille has been very chill and likes to kick it on your shoulder. Hopefully this Dumbo Rat will last awhile. The daughter is already saying its her best friend!! read more

Terrible customer service! Scheduled an appointment and after my son drove to the store, they give my son a sob story that they are short staffed and can't do the appointment. No call, no consideration of our time and no care for our situation ( We had a birthday party for my daughter later in the day, hence the appointment). Will not be using their services for grooming, pet food, pet toys or anything! Highly suggest no one else does either...They don't care! read more

Got some fish from here and some great advice about which ones to buy for my 10 gallon tank. Problem was, though, (and I'm sure this wasn't her fault) the fish kept either dying or killing each other. After several trips back and forth with dead/alive fish, I decided to let the battle of the tank play itself out. Final results- Algae eater - 1 All 6 other fish - 0 I also got some accessories for my turtle from here, way overpriced, of course. If you don't want to wait for your much cheaper on-line order to ship and arrive at your doorstep, then this place is OK in a pinch. I just had my Maltese groomed at the 7th Ave & Bell location. We will not be going back. I wasn't happy the previous time he was groomed there but thought I'd give them one more chance as anyone can have an off day. My bad. My dog was done in under an hour and I can see why. His face was still dirty when I picked him up, and I'm suspicious whether everything that should have been done actually was. Our groomer was Mike, who was also our groomer the previous time. Soo i been shopping at this location for awhile and i never bought an animal other than a betta from them. I have just recently bought small amounts (5-6) of freshwater fish from them. I got zebra danios which i lost 2 of...didnt even bother asking for a refund. I figured it was just bad luck. I bought few more and more neon tetras. I had added fish two wks prior and all those are still doing good. My water parameters are great. Once i replaced my stock for the second time, one of them has dropsy! I should have known while seeing their FILTHY TANKS and MULTIPLE DEAD FISH that they could care less! Where is the manager? Where is...ANYONE..i call and nobody ever answers. I was even a witness while at the store. Never gonna buy fish from you guys again. If it wasnt for covid and all the local fish stores werent getting in shipment then id never have bothered. read more

We have been coming to this location for about 2 years now. The prices are pretty reasonable but for some reason we always spend so much here. I think it's because we can't resist the toys & treats for our pups. It's fun to bring the doggies along & we usually do unless we're in a hurry. The staff is very helpful but last night we experienced awful service from the woman working the register. I didn't see her name tag & it wasn't printed on the receipt but she had short redish hair & wore glasses. We asked to have the bill split between 2 cards & she said "Um I think I can, on this register only". When I have had this done at grocery stores or restaurants they ask how you want it split beforehand. Well this dumb ass tells me to slide my card, total says $127, my hubby says to hit no, she says to hit yes. I should have listened to him, of course my card was charged the entire amount. She then says, "Oh it charged it all to your card. It's impossible to split between 2 cards". Oh really? Because I have done it at many other places so I know it is very much possible. This review is not for the store but for the Banfield Pet Clinic located inside the store. We called on a Tuesday to make an appointment for our little dog who is struggling with a skin condition. We had tried all of the other Banfield Clinics in our area and no one could get us in and we could not afford the other vets in our area, plus our dogs have always seen vets at Banfield located on Tatem and Shea, who also couldn't get us in. The Banfield Clinic at 7th Ave. gave us an appointment for the next Friday at 6:30 pm. Although we do not live close to this location, we wanted to get our dog in for help with her skin. We have tried all that we can for her and believe that professional help was necessary. When we arrived we were told they didn't have us down at all. We learned that they couldn't get us in until the next Tuesday! :( We left very frustrated that our dog did not receive the help we were TOLD we were going to receive when we made the appointment. Whoever did NOT do their job to log the appointment affected our lives and our dog who received no help and is still struggling-- all because someone didn't take the time to do what they are getting paid to do. Needless to say, if I could, I wouldn't give any stars at all over this experience and I will not recommend this Banfield Clinic to anyone. read more

I like to think that he even looks forward to seeing her now. His coat always grows out so nicely and he is cute for a long time after his groom. Went just before closing this evening to pick up dog food. The staff greated me at the door and other staff offered to help with the 35lb bag. The staff was concerned about customer service and not caring about what time they can get outta there. The cashier was also chatty-appropriate, meaning she kept her conversation with each customer short, sweet and didnt get into deep convos. I always shop here and will continue to do so. This review is about the grooming salon. It's a nightmare. Horrible beyond belief. It's close to me and I've taken my dogs here a few times, and they are always disorganized and "running behind", but the dog haircuts were ok. One of my dogs is sometimes touchy about getting his nails trimmed and so I always tell groomers it's not important and if he gets scared to just not do it. The last time when I went to pick them up he had a bloody nose and they told me it's because it took 2 people to pin him down while they trimmed his nails and he panicked so bad his nose started bleeding! I TOLD THEM NOT TO DO IT So I was a little pissed, but I didn't blow up. I did tell them I was mad that they had done that, especially since I had discussed it in advance. So in retaliation they put a note saying he's a vicious dog! He's a BEAGLE he hasn't got a mean bone in his body. And they just flat out lied because I called them out for torturing my dog. I volunteer here every Friday for Halo, no kill animal shelter, and enjoy being amongst fellow animal lovers. The staff is super friendly and I do a lot of shopping here for treats for the dogs. I love seeing all the customers with their little doggies. Their prices are actually pretty good, I look for sales and that's usually what I buy. They could keep the place a bit tidier(sp) but otherwise a nice Petsmart location. If you come in Friday evening and see a mom and daughter taking care of the kittens, say hi! read more

It's your basic pet store. The service was good, but we went there to pick out snails and nobody really knew anything about snails. We brought home a couple that we weren't too sure were even alive, and when I brought them back a couple days later, at least they exchange them without questions asked. The shells aren't the healthiest looking, but at least these two were alive. read more

Today, was a very different experience the groomer didn't take the time and when I asked if she could brush him a bit more she seemed bothered and not very happy about it.
