Or at least your dogs, When you sneak off for your fun away from home and have to part with your beloved animal, Boulder Falls has to be one of the best places to leave your pets, #1 we stopped in on the way home one day, unannounced and was greeted by friendly staff and a full behind the scenes tour to everywhere. How many places are comfortable with showing the behind the scenes at a moments notice? #2 they know my dogs name and the ones who know her rush to the front to greet her when she is announced of her arrival. Thanks to Julie for making Dfor Dog feel at home. #3 Dfor Dog's tail just goes wild when she realizes that she is going to stay here, the moment she gets out the car my dog is excited that makes all the difference. There's not many places outside of home she feels comfortable. We do have a special needs dog and the staff really take the time to help her stand and play. The outdoor play area looks great fun, it's a shame we cannot get involved and play with all the dogs at playtime. At Boulder Falls they look after more than dogs, cats, reptiles, rodent types, birds etc, all are welcome. Great tip is to book a grooming upon pick up so that you too can get a clean happy dog when you return. read more

We are so thankful for Boulder Falls! We started taking our puppy there when we had to go back to working in person, and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. They took such good care of our little girl from when she was a puppy to now, and the socialization and energy-burning opportunities she had there were integral to her development. She loved playing in their little pool they had, and she LOVED all the staff members there. I recommend the Grand Canyon Suite for a bigger dog because it's larger and has a window. I know Max gets a lot of exercise because he's always tired when I pick him up. I'd give this place five stars except I consider it pricey and the limited weekend hours can inflate the bill a little. Very pleasant staff who remembered my pet from one visit to the next. Clean, clean, clean. Deluxe accomodations and I like the touch of the little photo of my dog playing placed on my bill. Also, they are very attentive to making sure your pet's shots are up-to-date. So that gives confidence that only healthy animals are boarded - or at least it reduces the chance that your pet will come home with something they picked up while boarded. I have used off-and-on for two years now. Sometimes they are booked solid and I have to go elsewhere, and I haven't found anywhere else that compares quality-wise. I feel very guilty boarding my sweet Lab at all. Going here reduces that feeling as much as possible. Highly recommended for your puppy dog. read more

I have had the pleasure to get to know one staff member here, who is a delightful sweet warm heated person. What I heard shocked me, Very Rude people work here. They team up on other employees, be little them, never talk to them or ask how they are. The rest of the staff very clickish, rude to others including the owner Melissa. A couple of the staff members would yell at the dogs with anger and then start laughing thinking its fun. I will never return here with my animals, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. While it's unfortunate that there may have been a couple of incidents of altercations between dogs, which will happen in any facility, I can attest that Boulder Falls is a superb resort that has been taken exemplary care of my dogs for over fifteen years, both in boarding and in daycare, with no problems whatsoever. Melissa and her staff are incredibly caring animal lovers and they have been nothing but kind and attentive to my pooches. I have recommended Boulder Falls to all my friends and acquaintances who want the best care for their "furry children". read more

No one monitors the animals after hours even though they call themselves a pet resort. Our dog laid in a pool of his own blood until they were taking out the second group of dogs later in the morning. No one checked on him when they came into work in the morning and he almost died because of that. Don't trust your family members to luck which is what they are depending upon after hours. I understand no supervision after hours but no one actually works there after hours and obviously didn't check on the animals when they came in. Shame on you for not checking the animals. read more

I have been using Boulder Falls for years for grooming. They got a new groomer and it seemed they never blew his hair out. They just air dried him. Last time I took him in he came out with blood all over him from his mouth. The groomer felt bad but I was horrified and my dog was traumatized. read more

We've been boarding our pup here since 2018 and in the beginning it was great, our dog loves to come here. The last three times we've boarded Koba he wasn't himself for the first couple of days and most recently our pup has come home smelling awful as if he were laying in urine. Koba also has some sort of skin irritation as well and when brought up to the staff they simply said that his breed type is susceptible to hives. My family and I have had pit bulls my entire life and I've never seen this on any of mine nor my families dogs. This has been upsetting not only to myself but to my fiancé as well. Now we have to take him to the vet to get to the bottom of this. Suffice it to say we will no longer be boarding our pup at this facility which is a shame. read more

As soon as you walk in the door here you know you came to the right place. The staff is terrific and they greet your pet (two dogs in my case) like they've known them forever. We have on dog who is a bit standoffish with strangers and he warmed up to the staff member who took him back almost immediately. Our other dog would happily follow the devil through the gates of hell so she's not an issue :-) We left the dogs there for a week. When we left our dogs in kennels in the past they would immediately head for the door when we showed up. Not here, while we were paying the bill (reasonable) they were playing with the attendant. They clearly had a good time and bonded with the staff. It helps erase the guilt of leaving them in a kennel in the first place. The dogs were clean, well fed and the staff even shared some stories about what they'd been up to. read more

YOU WILL BE SICKENED....Imagine placing your happy, healthy little 15-pound Poodle/Pekingese mix bundle of love into the care of this "pet resort", only to be notified less than 20 hours later by an emergency vet hospital that he is severely injured, having been bitten in the face, with his eye irreparably ripped out, by a 53-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix. How could this have happened?? The last 4 months have been a pure nightmare, with my pup requiring several surgeries and 24/7 around the clock care. He has endured excruciating pain and confusion, and I have endured many sleepless nights with him wailing in pain and having nightmares. What is even more appalling are the lies I was told and the sheer lack of accountability on the part of Melissa Meyer and Boulder Falls Pet Resort. In the 2 weeks prior to placing my pup in their care, I toured their facility 2 separate times. Both times I was shown 3 areas that they use to let the dogs outside..... one small area for tiny dogs; one small area for dogs requiring individual play only; and one area which is the large, main outside play area. I was told that all dogs are required to have their behavior assessed before being boarded at their facility or allowed into the large, main outside play area, so I scheduled him a 3 hour stay for this assessment. Upon picking him up, I was told that he did great, and their own notes indicated he is "good with smalls". Since he was too big to be with the tiny dogs, and didn't require individual play, I was assured that he would only be in the large, main play area and grouped with other dogs that are similar in size and temperament. This is obviously NOT what happened. Upon meeting with Melissa Meyer at the facility a week after this incident, I was told that my pup was not in the large, main outside area as I had been assured, but rather had been put in the small area for dogs requiring individual play. And not only was he not alone, he had been placed in this small space with the 53-pound dog and 3 other smalls! When questioning Melissa how they could have allowed this to happen, she responded in a whiny voice, "Well, not all big dogs can be around other big dogs". HUH? I was shocked and disgusted by her lack of concern and blatant disregard for my dog's safety. I filed a claim against their insurance company, and most of my pup's medical costs have been covered. However, Melissa Meyer and the other owners of Boulder Falls Pet Resort have refused to take responsibility and reimburse me for the money I am out of pocket due to this vacation that was cut short after 8 hours of arrival (flights, hotel, transportation), or for my son's emergency time off work to deal with this before I could get home. Nor have they provided any compensation for the months of pain and suffering on my part and my pup's part. Five Stars! They always know Kenny and they are so great with him. They understand our sporadic phone calls to check on him when he is there for a visit. We have been coming here for years, with my Alex's prior doggies and he just loved it so now that we have our Kenny, now for just over a year, he has been doing just great here. Our Kenny is a Chow mix and doesn't play well with others, so he gets his very own outside time. We love the special attention he gets and he just loves people. When we bring Kenny in we bring his wet food in portion size baggies for his AM/PM feeding mixed with their 1/2 cup of dry. They are fabulous at follow our strict instructions regarding his diet. Kenny also gets groomed here. As i mentioned before, he is a Chow and he has lots of fur and needs extra special time to make him look pretty. They are so good with him and taking their time with him. Kenny always looks so cute and smells good. Thank you for always putting our mind at ease and taking such good care of our Kenny. Boulder Falls is my go -to pet resort whenever I need to board my two dogs. The facility is clean and spacious, check-ins/pick ups are always quick and easy, and staff is very friendly both towards me and my pups. They require flea and tick preventatives (and will supply some if needed) which is a relief to know there is minimal risk of my pets bringing a parasite home. My dogs are always very excited pulling into the parking lot and tired when coming home- so I know they have a good time! The business now offers curb-side drop-off/pick-up for added convenience and safety. read more

Shame on me!!! I just realized I never wrote a review for the incredible care my tally was given while I went through a terrible time in my life. My mom suffered a stroke in October 2013 and I had to close down my apartment and fly to Puerto Rico for what turned out to be 6 months! little tally is my girl and I was able to call and get updates on her, see her running and happy through pictures on the website and was never made to feel silly for checking up to see how she was. At the time she was there tally was the longest boulder resident!!!!! I will never be able to thank Boulder for piece of mind while I cared for my mom at home until she passed. The place SMELLS amazing, it's clean, cheerful and the schedules they have for exercise and napping are adorable!! The staff are all angels!!!! That would have been my rating before Thanksgiving weekend. Now it's ********* , 10 stars! We've brought two dogs here once or twice a year for the past 12 years or so. I'll repeat all of the positive comments by the others. Duke gets so excited when he sees me getting his food and blanket ready to go, it's as if it was him that was going on vacation. For the first time ever, the staff noticed on Thanksgiving morning that Duke was having medical difficulties. Melissa, one of the owners, called to let us know. We were in the car on the way to San Diego and she told us not to worry, that he was comfortable and that they were monitoring him. On Thanksgiving morning, she called to recommend that he see a doctor and offered to take him to our vet the next day, which she did. We considered ending our trip early and coming home, but there was nothing that we could do and we knew he was in good hands. We'll be back at Boulder Falls whenever we go away. read more

We wanted to find a place where our dog could go to break up the week of being in the kennel for long periods of time while we work. We found boulder falls and are so happy we did, not to mention our Golden LOVES to go. They were very open to us checking out the facility and talking through our questions and concerns (we are first time dog owners so were nervous about leaving him). It only took a few visits for them to recognize us by name. It's $18 for a full day, which seems pretty comparable to other places nearby. We have never had any issues with him getting sick, fleas or into fights with other dogs. They keep track of their shots (you can see when you're due on the receipt, with a picture of your furry friend) so you can feel assured all dogs are up to date. Our dog gets pretty dirty and they have started to towel him down before he leaves, if he's really bad they've given him a quick hose down for free. I like that there are plenty of people playing in the yard so any potential fights seem to be prevented or broken up quickly, which gave us piece of mind since our guy was a puppy and still learning the rules of the playground. They also put the dogs into groups so more passive temperaments are playing together, then more energetic together. I wish there were more pictures or updates of their day. It would be great to have longer hours as it's hard to get to work on time, but that's minor compared to great service and attention he receives and they've been very flexible when we need to drop off earlier than 8:30. read more

I am reviewing the "Day Spa" part of Boulder Falls Pet Resort & Day Spa. Altho, please note that I have used, and will continue to exclusively use, their Pet Resort for boarding and doggie day care when I need it. I have a 1 year old Australian Shepherd and he is absolutely crazy. He is a smart dog, but his kryptonite is other dogs; all his manners go out the window and he just barks and jumps and wants to play with his 4-legged friends. I took him to Boulder Falls today to get him shaved down due to lots of shedding. This was the first time I had used a dog groomer. I was pretty nervous that he was going to be out of control for the groomer and he would come back 1/2 shaved, or nicked, or have a cut somewhere, or his coat would be completely uneven. He was none of the above. He looked great!!! I can not give Boulder Falls' Day Spa anything but 5-stars because I know my dog, and I know he's a handful, and I know that they did a wonderful job shaving him and blending his head! And to top it off, he was outside playing ball with the groomer before I came and got him! Lastly, the price (compared to a big chain pet store you have all heard of) is very reasonable! read more

Their main goal is to upsell you on everything they possibly can... NOT CARE FOR YOUR PET! We took our Golden Retriever for 3 1/2 days, when we picked him up we asked how he did... The man said 'next time you should really take advantage of the group play time'... that was it?? As we are leaving we notice there is a 'resident cat' wandering around with a major butt infection... My main purpose in writing this is- our poor sweet dog came home with dog poop on the back of his coat (all crusted in) and it was not cleaned by the staff-- he either sat in another dogs poo or his own, but he was not cleaned up. Our dog is and has been potty trained since we've had him. The first night home from the "resort" he had major diarrhea in our bathroom and it had blood in it- we then noticed he was doing the butt scoot...??? Seems there are some infections going around there... shady!!! We will NEVER take our sweet animal there EVER again... They do not care for the animals properly, who knows if they even ever let him outside or gave him water for that matter. BEWARE!!! Considering calling the Humane Society to have them checked out. read more

We have taken our dog Chip to Boulder Falls for 3 years now! We love this place. The staff is always super friendly and knows my dogs name from the second we walk in. It is almost embarrassing for me to see Chip get so excited when we pull into the parking lot (you would think he wasn't spoiled at home!). We trust Boulder Falls every time we go out of town -just for a night or 3 week vacation! It is also very handy to have your dog groomed while you are away with their in home pet groomer! Brought my little dog Darla in to get groomed and I had provided them with seven pictures of how I liked her groomed on email and I brought in the feathers and bows along with a scarf for them to use since they don't do that. It was my first time to use them. We had Theresa for her groomer and as I said I provided all the pictures on email and went over that with Theresa and even told Becky the gal that answers the phone to please view those pictures. Dropped the dog off at 9:15 she was done around three. When I got home her entire haircut was lopsided, they shaved her head and face plus they shaved off her whiskers are you kidding me? Darla is part king Cavalier and part spaniel a rescue which we've had for 10 years. We go every three weeks to get groomed and this was the worst I've ever had in my entire life. I called to complain and was told wow other people like her . So I said well I guess they like lopsided hair cuts. No offer to say hey bring her back and we will fix it. The worst was when I looked down on the floor in the bathroom and in the rest of the house there were blood drops so we looked at Darla's feet and they had cut one of her toenails too short on her left front paw. I took pictures and sent them to them to prove what a lousy job they did. My husband was furious and my entire family was very upset to see my dog looking so distraught. My daughter had to perform first aid to wrap her paw to prevent infection and further bleeding. Poor Darla!!! A blind person could do a better job than these people. Just to end ...my quote was $40.00 when they told me to get her but as I was driving to get her they call and say oops made a mistake it is $50.00. As far as I am concerned they should pay me for damages. Never go there!!!! read more

I've been taking my dog Kash there for over 7 years. HE LOVES IT! The Staff make me feel like my dog is the most important dog in the world (HE IS!) and I love that. This was the 3rd time we used Boulder Falls to board our 12 year old Bearded Collie. I have to be clear here. I actually give the boarding staff high marks. We can tell our dog has a great time there. This last trip in early in Oct 2016 was a longer one, boarding him 11 days. We dropped him off just a week after a bath and a few hours after he had been completely line brushed. We chose to have him bathed and groomed since he would be outside several hours playing all 11 days. What a horrific mistake. He is a pure bread Beardie with his lineage going back to the Britannia line in Europe. The groomer literally hacked apart his coat, removing most of the fur on his legs, removing his 10 inch white mane, leaving his coat uneven and a complete disaster. He doesn't have enough years left for his coat to heal. When I called for an explanation, I was promised the owner would be contacted at home and I would receive a call back immediately. She never called. The next day the groomer did call me. The dogs play outside and he apparently matted. They are sometimes taken back to their pens wet. Not good. She tried to call me but the front desk gave her the wrong phone number. What?! She spewed out her credentials of 25 years of experience and had the gall to ask me if I had ever owned a Bearded Collie before. Uh, have been bathing him and line brushing him for 12 years. She said she had no choice but to cut out the mats. There have been times when our dog's coat got in bad shape with my travel schedule and my kids playing with him in water. I have had to deal with huge mats in his fur. There are products and techniques to address that. Did she use a slicker product like Cowboy magic? Did she try to loosen the mats with her fingers? Did she try to pick them out? Did she get a consultation from the owner before she hacked away his coat? Nope. She hacked his coat apart. Another question is did she bath a matted dog? I bet she did, which would have tightened the mats. She didn't know what she was doing. Remember this was our dog's 3rd visit to Boulder Falls. In conclusion, shame on the owner for allowing this to happen and not following up with me. Regarding the groomer. I strongly recommend that you avoid her at all costs, especially if you have a long hair dog that you really care about. She has terrible judgement. My wife, kids and I are crushed. We are so angry and upset about this. This should have never happened. It will live on too. I will be explaining to people for the rest of our dog's life why he looks the way that he does. We love Boulder Falls. We absolutely hate having to board our dogs but we have no problems leaving them here. Our one dog has some anxiety issues, and now that she is used to coming here, she runs right back with the staff when they come out to get her from us. They are always very attentive regarding vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm medications, which gives me some peace of mind that my dogs won't come home with some strange sickness. The staff here is so very friendly and they love our dogs and always give us a report of how they behaved and if there were any issues. We are very lucky we found this place and we will be bringing our dogs here as long as they are around! read more

This place is all around superior than anywhere I have ever left my dogs. The staff and owners are incredible! I have multiple dogs, big and small. Sometimes I leave all of them and sometimes I leave either the just the small ones or just the bigger ones. No matter they take care of them all as if they were their own pets. The first time I ever left one of my little ones, I was very nervous. I even called them during his stay to ask about him. I didn't get the standard "he's fine" response. What I got was an in-depth conversation with the staff about details of my dogs behavior during his stay. Only someone who was really paying attention to my dog and actually playing with him would have been able to tell me these details about how he plays and behaves due to some of his fun and quirky behaviors. When I drop any or all of the dogs off, they are so excited to be there they don't even see me leave. Boulder Falls has 3 playtimes a day and all the dogs play together. And it DOES NOT cost extra. Their fees are not a la carte like other places I checked. The staff is amazing. The owners are amazing and on site. The facility is amazing. Love, love, love this place! read more
