It's in a great location, yes it's on the smaller side of PetSmart stores but what in world are you all looking for? I have two large dogs and three cats and they always have what I need in sock. Staff is friendly enough...I mean I'm not asking them to hold my hand so all is good. Some staff is a little older so make sure to let them know if anything is on clearance before they ring it up. Pooler GA PetSmart........ This has to be the most incompetent staff EVER in the history of PetSmart. I took my dog there for a simple cut and bath, mind you he is an older dog. After two hours, I get a call from a trainee who stated that she has trimmed my dog's torso, but is unable to trim his face and tail because he won't stand up on four legs. She stated that my dog was sitting on his hind legs. I asked her what does that have to do with you trimming his face and crown. She stated that my dog also had a slight head tilt and it's going to take longer and that she had another dog to groom. I asked for the manager, so she put her RUDE manager on the phone. I asked him if he could have another Groomer do my dogs face because his trainee said she felt uncomfortable because of the way my dog was acting and not standing up. Kept citing safety concerns...... I pleaded again with the manager to let one of his other groomers just finish my dogs face and crown because I had no other option and I was going on vacation the next day. He rudely said " I told you that I didn't have anybody , so you need to come and pick your dog up"!!! I hung up and rushed to get my dog. When I arrived, my dog looks for fine and not sluggish. He was walking around on all fours no head tilt in sight.. I asked the manager can you please put my dog back on the table, so that I can see what you were talking about with the head tilt and him refusing to get up. He refused to do that and then another big mouth only other male employee Groomer started running his mouth saying they won't touch him again. I said you're all a bunch of lazy ARSES and exited the building. I see why they have all these one star and two star reviews because they are all nothing but a bunch of lazy employees who do bad work and should not be allowed to touch another dog ever again!! Absolutely terrible and lazy. I came in with my dog and they told me they didn't want to take the walk-in and to come back in 30 minutes (even though they were sitting around. So, I came back in 35 minutes and they told me to continue to wait another 10 minutes. I came back 10 minutes later and they finally took her in, and began clipping her nails (aggressively, on my dog that had ACL surgery a few months ago). My dog let out a SINGULAR bark, that I watched happen, and they took her down and said that they refused to clip her anymore because of her "continuous barking." On a trip to Savannah, to visit my family I decided to pamper my pup. So I called around and to my luck Petsmart had a 5:00 appointment for bathing and grooming. The lady over the phone was pleasant and social. We discussed the style and what the appointment would entail so I thought let's go for it. I have a Chinese Crested (a hairless pup so I figured it would be pretty easy). I decided to come in early, because I had to show the groomer my updated shot records. When my boyfriend and I waked in. There was one gentleman cutting a dogs hair in the front. However his back was turned from the entrance so it took awhile for him to noticed us. After he noticed us, he apologized for a lack of awareness to his customers and I told him it was ok. I know how it is to get caught up in work so it was no big deal. He also let us know that he was knew to the job (I.e, an apprentice, so i gave him some slack). He proceeded to check us in and when I showed him my rabies shots on my phone he became confused. He told us he would get someone more knowledgeable to help us. He left the front to find someone, and a young lady appeared. Her name badge also had apprentice written on it and she apologized for the inconvenience. All of the groomers were at lunch so she was the most knowledgeable at the moment. After she confirmed my shot records she proceeded to ask what I wanted for my appointment. I slightly got upset because I had a 10 minute discussion with the lady over the phone about the appointment. Nevertheless I kept my cool and explained everything I wanted. I wanted my dog to be washed with and exfoliating shampoo, groomed, anal glands cleaned, ears trimmed, teeth brushed, and nails filed (the bath, groom, and plus package approximately $50.00 in value). I discussed the way I wanted my dog groomed in detail, because the young lady was an apprentice and appeared flustered. After we discussed everything including the price we left. Approximately two hours after we dropped the dog off I received a call from Petsmart. It was the groomer! The groomer initially spoke with my mother, because of some unfortunate circumstances so I'm not sure what was said. But when my mom passed the phone to me the groomer inquired about how I would like the dog cut (mind you this was my third time explaining this). I told the young lady, but after this third time I became uneasy. If you're a pet owner you might now how attached people become to their pets and I'm one of those people. The day continued and I received a call around 7 telling me that she was ready for pick-up. When I walked in I was greeted again by all of the groomers which was pretty nice. And immediately I could hear my baby crying in the back (I'm pretty sure she heard my voice). The young lady asked who I was coming to pickup. After I answered I began asking about the entire service, because the price was different from what we discussed. The new price was $33.00 (previously $50.00 something). Then the man preceded to tell me that they were unable to get her nails trimmed, because she almost tried yap at them. I understood so I let it go and was given the check out papers. While obtaining my checkout papers they brought the dog out and I immediately became upset. My dogs body hair seemed to be at the same length as when she came in, her tail wasn't brushed, her legs weren't cleaned to resemble that off a standard poodle, nor was her bottom hairs cut. I was completely disgusted. Four hours and $33.00 dollars later, the only thing that seemed to have taken place was a bath and a poor facial hair cut. I didn't want to argue or make a scene so I simply left, because as a business that cares for animals. If something wasn't able to be done a phone call would have been sufficient. But for none of the vets to have thought to call me or explain what was completed at my visit is outrageous. It's already insane that I'm paying the same price as someone that has a dog with a full coat of hair, but it's another to know that Petsmart groomers lack professionalism (I.e., a courtesy call to provide details of the service). Completely disgusting. Overall this pet store deserves an F. Team members are polite. Pitfalls, the remaining experience along with a couple other purchases I have completed, made me rethink giving business to Petsmart. They are over priced and team members lack pride in the work that they do. Additionally, I feel that I was wrongly charged and none of the work I asked for from the pet store was completed (my dog's body hair remained the same length, her tail wasn't brushed, her tail wasn't trimmed, her nails weren't cut, her bottom hairs weren't cut, and ear hairs weren't cut). Lastly customer information wasn't protected. The pick-up customers were at the front check-in table, which makes it easy for anyone to simply kidnap someone's else's pet. Yet another awful grooming experience. Shouldn't have given them a second chance, but after a phone call from the manager I opted to, only to then to be lied to by him. Chris gave my dog the worst hack job haircut of her life (she's nine years old), blamed it on her being wriggly, and I still tipped 30%! The manager, Eddie, called me and left a voicemail offering to redo the cut or give me a full refund. No matter how many I times I tried to return his call he never seemed to be available, so neither was honored. I went ahead and booked a second appointment. Upon arriving he came out and said based on the notes they probably wouldn't be able to do her cut because of how unmanageable she is so they'd probably be calling me, and then upon seeing matting on her paws they refused to groom her altogether saying only a vet would be able to remove the matting, to which I an unprofessional went home and capably did myself. Chris wouldn't even look me in the eye, and Eddie was rude. Why bother offering to correct your error when the notes you claim were in the system now would've been there when you originally made the offer?! In all her nine years of groomers, and there have been several as we move a lot, we have NEVER been refused by one nor has anyone ever complained about her being unmanageable and wouldn't see her again. I think that pets sense they aren't safe there because I've never seen my dog act the way she does when we go in that door. Terrible cuts! Nonexistent customer service. And awful pet handling! I initially enjoyed taking my pups here. I thought the love and care they received at this location was a bit better than the Abercorn location. However it has been twice now where my appointments have been cancelled, and not under my initiation. I've got two fur babies. One needs a bath and the other a grooming. The groom takes longer. When I go to Petsmart, I want to get both boys taken care of at the same time, so I strategically schedule them at the same time. The first time, one appointment for the groom was cancelled and they were thankfully able to accommodate me only because someone else had cancelled or failed to show up. And my cancellation came via email, less than 24 hours before the appointment. The lady on the phone told me to just call to schedule my appointment next time. The guy said, no actually Petsmart encourages scheduling online, which I think is great and more convenient for me. I then scheduled both boys for their next spa days well over a month in advance, and again online. Well, I guess that's where I made my mistake. My grooming appointment was cancelled (several weeks after I made the appointment) because groomers only work Saturday OR Sunday, but I scheduled it for Sunday. Either Petsmart better fix their website or this location should honor appointment reservations. A week and a half later, the bath appointment for fur baby number two was cancelled! Wait! When I called and asked if they could still see my pup for the bath, the answer I received was "yes, we just don't do grooming that day (that day being that particular Sunday)." Either the Pooler location is quick to blame these cancellations on the "system" or they have no respect for honoring appointments and scheduling the correct staff to satisfy their customers. Thankfully the Victory location had the same day and time slot open for both dogs, which I scheduled online as well. After calling to confirm, both babies will still be able to be seen as scheduled. I'm starting to get suspicious if it's the website or if Pooler Petsmart just has a tendency to overbook. With so few options for Petsmart in Savannah and no Petcos, I really feel like I have no options in this town. But my babies still need to be cleaned and cared for. Stay tuned for a review of the Petsmart Victory location, but as it stands now, I will not be scheduling any more grooming sessions here. read more

Mimi (my dog) had an appointment to get groomed this morning at 10:30AM my mother dropped her off and stood there for about an hour. She left at 11:45AM and asked the young lady what time will Mimi be ready for pick up. She stated usually about 3hrs and she should be ready at 2:30PM. Perfect. Hours later after a lovely morning, I had not heard from PetSmart and decided to go over and pick up Mimi. I arrived at 2:57PM (Giving them some extra time) and walk in to the Store Manager giving me the news that my dog was NOT groomed and a lousy apology. At this point I was livid! The Store Manager explained that his employee had a family emergency and did not return from lunch and unfortunately Mimi was not serviced. My dog had been sitting in a kennel for nearly 4HOURS! No phone call from the store, NO services provided besides storing my dog for 4 HOURS in a kennel. As you could imagine I was livid. I live 5 minutes from the store and could have easily picked my dog up sooner. Sure I would have been upset that her service was not provided but not AS upset knowing my poor dog was left alone for 4 hours and I did not receive any notification as little as a phone call. I was offered by the store manager a free grooming service and dog food. NO thanks to the grooming service and THANK YOU for the dog food that I was walking in to purchase anyways. I have already called corporate and filed a complaint and was told I should be hearing from the Regional manager shortly. I just want to share my experience with other dog owners and remind them NOT to take their dog to PetSmart in Pooler, GA. They have no sympathy for owners or their pets. Mimi is home. I called at 11:20 am and said "I need to have my cats' nails clipped" and Liz said sure, bring her in, the lady who clips nails is in at 1pm. So I showed up at 1pm and Liz said, 'We can't clip your cat's nails - there's no one here to do it." I told her that we had spoke earlier and that she had told me to come in at 1pm. "You didn't say it was a cat!". Yes, Liz. Yes I did. Anyway, I asked if anyone else in town could clip nails and she referred me to Godley Station Pet Hospital. I called them and they took my cat in right away and charged the same fee ($12). I would recommend an animal hospital over PetsMart any day, especially if the cost is the same! read more

Amazing job grooming! It's so hard to find a great groomer. I have never tried a chain before, but I have no idea why. They are priced better than the locally owned place down the road, they did a better job, and weren't rude in the process. I will definitely recommend them to anyone in the future. I am looking forward to trying out their spa package for my shihtzu as well. I also like that people can watch their pet get groomed. I know they aren't mistreating my dog. read more

I don't have completely warm feelings due to past interactions with PetSmart. However, Candice at the Pooler store deserves every bit of 5 stars. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Most importantly, she obviously gives a damn. She took a great deal of time with us and went above and beyond what you would normal expect at a big box PetStore. Never take your pet for grooming!! I've walked in there twice and both times the woman grooming the dogs was very aggressive. I watched her both times for about 3 minutes yanking, pushing, and handling the dogs in a very aggressive way. I wanted to say something but i just had to leave empty handed. My pups haircut was fine but the customer service was awful. When they called me to pick up my pup the gentleman was very short with me and hung up before I could say goodbye. I went to pay at the register and the cashier was very rude to me as well rushing me along. I am not sure if the workers i encountered were just having a bad day but i certainly won't be back to find out. Petsmart had no intentions on contacting the owners what had happened and lied about it when the owner confronted them on why their dog was limping and having trouble to go up the stairs. We went here to buy a filter system for our fishtank. They didn't have the one we wanted in stock so we went to the Petsmart on Abercorn. That location did have it. We were told if we had any problems we could return it to any Petsmart. Upon assembly we noticed that the system had mold, algae and hair on it. Since it was clearly used before we headed to the Pooler location for an exchange or refund. Once we stepped in the door we were ignored for a moment and were then approached and asked what we needed. My husband explained we were there to make an exchange for the used product that we had purchased at the Abercorn location. Well Chris was very nasty with us saying that we could not return it there and they didn't even carry that product so we had to take it back to Abercorn. He was very rude and dismissive asking if we even had a receipt. My husband and I were outraged so we left the store. As we leaving the parking lot, Chris comes running out saying he spoke with his manager and they can take the return so we won't have to drive all the was back to the Abercorn store. We got a refund and left. Needless to say Petsmart has definitely lost us as a customer one for the extremely rude employee and two for selling us a used product. We ended up buying the same product at another local pet store. We paid way more than we did at Petsmart but at least the customer service was great. read more

I like Pet Smart. good People good service. Prices are all over the place. I never know what is on sale and I pay 35 dollars for something one week and 4 weeks later its on sale for 27. I would prefer better over all prices. I have had my dogs Groomed there once and I wants very happy and I found the place unsanitary. I had to go back for a second and I noticed the Blades on the trimmers were RUSTY. I mentioned it to them. It was shrugged off. I want to say Very Friendly and Helpful people. Took my little baby Pom for his bath and hair cut yesterday, April 24, 2015. I would never take him there again. I would give it a 0 stars but wasn't allowed. I usually take him to Bluffton, SC and never had problems. This time decided to visit a new tanger outlets that's why I took my baby to this new petsmart. The groomer girl wasn't nice. She told me twice how my 5 pound Pom wouldn't let her move his head. When I dropped him off no one discussed the specifics of his haircut other then "lion cut". When I arrived to pic him up I was shocked to find out that half of his from body was longer then his back. I asked the groomer to cut it off. I waited there and heard how she was talking to my baby and she wasn't nice. Sherif the horrible job with a cut but she made a point yet again telling me that he wasn't letting her cut. I left her $10 tip before I observed her mistreating my baby and the cut...I probably could do the same. Anyhow, I would never go back there and I hope that specific groomer would not stay there for long because she doesn't do this place any favors. read more
