Petsmart is located next to the Target north location. They have a large store and a veterinary hospital within it. The hours are reasonable and the staff are very kind and helpful. As with most pet stores, you can bring your leashed pets into the store with you. The selection of pet related items is quite nice and certainly greater than Target / Walmart / etc., however the prices are also notably higher than any other store Erica and I have visited in town. PetSmart grooming North is not recommended. I have taken my dogs there several times and they always complain. If your dog will not stand for a bath you will get turned away, mind you this has never been an issue in the past they have found a way to make it work until today. It's almost as if they don't want to do their jobs. Do not recommend them if you have a bigger dog that gets nervous. They will turn you away!!!! read more

Went in on a spur of the moment during date night with the hubby to ask questions about bearded dragons. Jackson was amazingly helpful, answering every question and then some. Ended up running home, grabbing the kiddos, came back and bought our first Beardie and starter kit. Jackson was the best and most patient worker. went there because my usually groomer was booked. Will not go back again. Usually takes 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get her groomed so when I was told to come back in 3 hours I was upset. "well we have other dogs ahead of her". Then don't book grooming appointments so close together if it means my dog is going to be sitting in a kennel for 2 hours waiting for her turn. It's stressful for my dog especially when she's in a store she's not used to and not a groomer she is used to. Very upset with how they run things. read more

Had both my dogs groomed there for ages. I noticed a turnover in qualified groomers, over the same time period. My dogs were given back to me, in a state where they not professional attended to. One was bleeding from cuts to the paws, probably done during nail trimming process. The other was not dried off, and later at home was unable to walk. The vet put her on pain killers, and steroids. It appeared her back had been wretched while being groom. She came back. I will no longer go back to Petsmart. read more

This is a nice Petsmart with friendly employees and they keep the store well stocked and clean. I found out after complaining about my dog chewing up his toys that if i had saved my receipt they would have exchanged it for something else or another one. My lab is a pretty aggressive chewer and I bought him the big expensive black Kong that is supposedly indestructible and some other items that have this claim to fame...The employee said no problem just save the receipts. So this is what I do from now on...but i typically don't even try to get him these items anymore...just a good old hoof or large bone and of course numerous tennis balls that get destroyed the minute i turn my back when we are playing....I like that you can take you pup in with you and I have done this...Lambert likes going in and picking out his own treats.... read more

I called a few days ago to set up an appointment at noon for my long haired cat to get groomed today. Got there 5 minutes before, and was told by the "groomer" (Carrie) that she was going to quickly finish the cat she was working on then work on mine. I received a call at 12:45. Apparently for 45 minutes, my poor traumatized kitten was stuffed in a cage next to 3 upset barking dogs, and Carrie couldn't get her out of the cage because the poor thing was freaked out. We quickly rushed back and I went to the back with Carrie and easily coaxed my cat out in less than 10 seconds, and handed her over to Carrie. Thinking everything would be okay, I left for one more errand. I then get a call 10 minutes later, saying my cat was done. We get there, and literally half of the left side of her is shaved. The "groomer" was terrified of my 7 pound kitten, who only hissed and did a little growling. (Seriously, who wouldn't be upset after being shoved in a cage for almost an hour.) I asked to talk to a manager who basically said it was my cats fault for being difficult. (...what?!) ...If I set up an appointment for noon, shouldn't she begin working on my cat at noon..? I thought appointments worked that way. Guess they don't here. Don't bother making an appointment for your cat unless you want to waste your time. The only "cat groomer" there was afraid of my kitten. Maybe y'all should get a cat groomer that isn't afraid of cats. Won't be back. I gave one star, because I can't give less then that. read more

Went in to get some things for our little kitten. Was berated by an associate and was told that she hates people like me. Wallet out and went somewhere else. We have a couple of pets and generally shopped there. Will ship elsewhere from now on. Poor customer service through out. read more

Great store for anything to do with pets . They have my labs dog food on sale this week, Blue Wilderness. They do a good job grooming also and the rates are reasonable. They have adoption animals too, got a cat for my niece. If you watch for the flyers in the paper they have good sales. read more

Took my dog here to get groomed. She's a Welsh Corgi and sheds a LOT so we chose the Furminator package. The girls in the grooming area were all very nice and did an excellent job. My dog has had a bad experience with grooming in the past, but she left here very proud, happy and excited. Great value for the price! read more

I adopted an 8 week old puppy from a shelter on Thursday June 9, by Tuesday June 14, the puppy was vomitting and had bad diarrhea, dehydrated, etc. went to the vet, dog tested positive for parvo, a very contagious and often deadly intestinal virus in very young pups. He came from a foster home just before adoption. I was told to rake him to the ER, he was so sick it was so sad. The quoted $2,000-$3,100 to treat him 2-4 days. I gave them my credit card, I called the shelter and was told no returns, no refunds, you are responsible for your pet. 2 days later the vet wanted $1,700 more to continue treatment. I reached out to the shelter again- not their problem. They can' t screen every dog for parvo! They feel no responsibility for the illness of of this poor baby or the exorbitant medical bills I had incurred on a puppy I had for 4 days. They gave a gift of insurance with a $75 deductible with max payout of $750. I took the puppy home last night bc I could not afford anymore than the $2,700 already paid. The vet told me that the dog was sick before I adopted him. My poor baby died this morning! They have offered to refund my $280 adoption fee and from now on when an adopter calls with a parvo issue they will be directed to the president and can bring the dog to them for treatment. Too little to late for my puppy. I emailed the first night and was ignored. East Coast Adoption Agency is affiliated with PetSmart and should bear some responsibility for these medical bills. I had no question about seeking mefical treatment for the puppy but need advice how to oroceed. And I do not want to hear from shelters about taking money from them to pay for a dead adopted dog. We are not talking about $100-$1,000, we are talking $3,000 plus the first vet who directed me to the Pet ER! read more

We have used the grooming salon quite a few times for our dog. He is very well behaved, and loves baths. Even when we specifically tell them at drop off that we only want him washed, cut, and nails trimmed, they still charge us for a full package, which ends up being over $100! He is a labradoodle, but his fur is like long lab fur, not curly poodle fur. They keep charging us like he's a poodle, instead of a lab mix, despite his easier to deal with fur. One worker even realized he was listed incorrectly in the system and we had been overcharged for years, so she changed it. Not long after, someone changed him back, so he was back to being just as expensive. And, they do a crappy job! They miss trimming some areas, scalp him in others, his face looks like a Scotty dog instead of a labradoodle, etc. I've only brought him there because it saves me the time. I have done a better job at home-with no training. After giving them several times to get it right and charge me correctly, I realized it is well past time to go somewhere else. read more
