LITERALLY THE BEST my puppy loves going here and I've never had problems at this place there really nice too

Riza loves every single thing about Central Bark, and I'm posting on Yelp as well because they deserve better average # stars on here. When we got our new puppy we wanted to make sure she was well socialized and used to spending days without us in case we both end up with office jobs again (I work from home). She's routinely gotten praise and she comes home the happiest and the most tired. And also stinky, but people who leave a bad review for a stinky dog are ignoring that when a dog plays hard they're rolling in dirt, water, and spit, let alone if you've got one with a penchant for sticking their head in a "stream" (Riza). For us, when we toured the facility was very clean, and they take and post pictures daily of all the pups and even with all the dogs running around all day it's always super clean. The staff are all super friendly and seem to really love their jobs -- or at least really love the dogs so you'd never know. Central Bark is also on the ball with keeping track of vaccinations & will mention if you've got something close to expiring - an added perk for sure since it's easy to miss an email from the vet. For safety reasons, Central Bark asks that you come on as regular a schedule as possible - this keeps their play groups fairly consistent and let's the dogs develop friendships and not be constantly introducing brand new dogs to each other every single day. It also helps with your own routines at home. By doing this, we've found that Riza has made her own friends and has a few doggies that she just LOVES at daycare. It's always fun to see the regulars in the pictures with her. I love them, I think their prices are reasonable and well worth it, and I hope to let Riza come to daycare for as long as we possibly can. Our pup has been going to Central Bark for daycare & grooming for over a year now, and we are so happy June can call this her home away from home. The Central Bark team is so sweet & accommodating. We moved to Rochester a year ago. I've taken my little mini-poodle to 4 different groomers. I finally took her to Central Bark, Rochester and was very satisfied with their work. The groomer came out and talked with me for about 5 minutes to make sure she knew what I expected and she did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Central Bark for grooming. read more

Now I know that we are not the first ones who had a bad experience at Central Bark. Watch out for their groomer Christine. NO CHANCE we would ever go back to that place. I really hope she doesn't treat our pets the same way she treats the costumers . Be careful and find a second option. read more

Just like one of the previous post said, I definitely received the same type of treatment from this facility. You'd think in this type of economy they would get as much business as possible, but such horrible customer service and bad time I had, just only after one stay. Immediately to start the day at 6am I was greeted with a 'Why are you here so early, we said 6:30am.' Well from the one phone call and 2 e-mails I received you had three different times. A good morning would have been nice. Fast forward to the end of the day when I picked her up, I then was lectured on my dogs inability to get along with other dogs and how to train my dog. Inability to get along with other dogs? She does just well as the dog park in the week we have bee going. Well she is a 5 month year old puppy and Ive has her for almost two weeks. I was looking for some help in taking care of her given my 12 hour shifts I work. Lastly when I dropped my dog off clean and smelling well, I picked her up to a horrible stench, having to go give her a bath. Heres the part where the management/owner of this place replies and says how sorry they are and want us to come in for a free session. They will no doubt leave their information and say how unfortunate that we feel this way. My response, get bent. Taking my business elsewhere as well as making sure friends, coworkers and family never give this place their business. I am not from the area, just visiting my girlfriend, but what a horrible business. read more

I am writing a review based on my own personal experience. Just like on any business you can make your own judgements. However, I feel the need to explain my experience. I was really excited to try out this place for my new rescue pup especially since they had a great two day free deal. The first few days I took her here I was told she did really well, but just needed to work on some recall training, which I was doing elsewhere at a well known training facility. Fast forward after the first few times I took her here she had bad diarrhea and puked up a large amount of food. I asked my vet for advice and they told me to kindly ask them not to feed her the treats they use and bring in my own food. I do not at all blame Central Bark for her digestive issues, just kindly asked them to stop feeding her their treats. After all, they said that they can accommodate dietary issues. The same day I dropped her off and asked for this, the owner called me at work explaining that the treats they use are top notch with really good probiotics and he would even give me a bag for my vet to test. I felt this rubbed me the wrong way because I explained that I wasn't saying the food was bad or that it needed to be tested. I only wanted to find out what was making my pup sick. Not all foods are going to agree with every dogs stomach. I do not at all blame them for that. He proceeded to tell me that they wouldn't be able to work with her on any recall or training if they couldn't feed her their type of treats. However, I had brought in her own kibble to use and when I picked her up it was still in the same spot not even used. But, they told me she had a good day. Fast forward to the last day I took her there. (She only attended 4 days) I went to pick up my pup at daycare and there was a really weird vibe. Instead of bringing my dog out both the owner and one of the trainers/staff came out and told me that my dog is leash aggressive. (She has never been prior to this day) They told me she was staring down dogs and they couldn't get her focus off (she is a puppy and still easily distracted) In addition, they told me she was very aggressive now (towards the owners dog) due to the fact that I had been using a Herm Sprenger prong collar for all of 5 days.I was told this advice by a professional trainer I had been working with outside of this establishment. I made sure to get it fit properly and learned how to use it right. At this point they both lecture me on appropriate training techniques that they think I should be using, tried to sell me some in home training by their trainer (who is by the way not listed on the website for the world renowned dog training facility she trained at?) and told me I could never bring my dog back even if I put her through more training. This made me quite upset that both the owner and staff/training member were being extremely bias towards the training method I was taught to use. And lastly after explaining that my dog is aggressive the owner said that it also just won't work because she can't eat the same food/treats every other dog has to eat at their facility. That is not ok! How will you treat other dogs with digestive issues? This is a horrible way to treat a customer. I understand that you have your own beliefs in training methods and the best food for dogs. And while you may feel your heart was in the right place, I was very upset after my experience here. I told them to remove my customer account the next day and they refused and said that in case I came back they would keep it. After they explicitly told me that even if my dog had other training that she couldn't come back. This is very contradictory messaging to a customer. I will never return and none of my friends or family will ever do business here. read more

I had nothing but positives vibes from this facility from the first contact that I made to my first meeting them in person. We rarely leave our dogs in the care of anyone as I am very fussy about how they are treated. I called within an hour or so of dropping them off for the day and although I had to leave a message, they called me back within the hour. I just wanted to know how my guys were doing (we have 3 large dogs). The person that called told me that they were outside playing fetch a few minutes ago and she already knew their personalities to a tee. Later in the day they sent pictures of how they were doing. We brought them back for another three days (day care) and our next visit we are planning on them staying over night for a few dats. I totally trust our dogs in their care. read more

Central Bark is our go to place to get our golden retriever Reese groomed. The staff are all great to deal with and they take such great care of Reese who is a little shy and timid around new places and people. I have brought Reese a few times now and every experience has been great. I would recommend this place to any one who asked. read more

We have always been very reluctant to have Sushi go to day care because her previous experiences have often left her overwhelmed and we were always concerned whether her unique needs would be met. We tried Central Bark for the days when she would be left alone for a length of time. So far, the experience has been good. Sushi is much more socialized. The place does not have too many dogs so that it is overwhelming for her, and it appears that great care has been taken to ensure a good dog-to-staff ratio. The staff is friendly and genuinely concerned and never brushes off any question or request. read more
