Next thing I know, I'm standing at the register with a herd of guinea pigs, a new cage, and a questionable life choice. The staff was way too friendly and helpful... they made it way too easy to justify adopting half the store. Everyone was laughing, even me -- and somehow I'm now the proud owner of a squeaking, hay-eating circus. Great service, fun folks, and apparently zero self-control on my part. Five stars. This place was a terrible experience, and I will never bring my dog back. The groomer who worked on my Bichon seemed rude from the beginning, but I overlooked it. What upset me most was that when I picked up my dog, the groomer didn't even come out to explain the haircut. Another employee spoke to me instead. I specifically said it was okay to cut his hair short, but I did NOT ask for him to be shaved completely. They shaved his entire body, including his tail, without calling or asking for my approval first. My dog looked completely different from what I requested. To make matters worse, they charged me an additional $30 for 45 minutes of de-matting. If the knots were so bad that they had to shave him anyway, why charge extra without discussing the options with me first? When I asked about the extra charge, the groomer told me my dog had many knots and said she could bring them out and show me. At that point, my dog was already shaved bald, so there was nothing that could be done. The lack of communication, poor customer service, and rude attitude were unacceptable. I ended up paying $98 plus a tip for a haircut I never wanted. I felt completely ignored as a customer. I would not recommend this grooming salon to anyone. Dissatisfied with the grooming service. I was never called when my dog was ready and I asked for a deshedding bath and cut. It was a horrible service. My dog still had hair flying all over my car with the air conditioner on and hasn't stopped shedding since. No bandana, no fragrant spray. Went to Petsmart to pick up items for my dog and wrote a check. Petsmart would not accept my check for payment due to a company called Certegy that they used not allowing my check. I had plenty of money in my account and have never had a problem previously when paying with my debit card but was still blocked with no justification. Tried to contact this company Certegy to rectify and you still can't speak to anyone. I have not had any issues with my checks previously and none of this was acceptable. Saturday I called to set an appointment for my puppy to be groomed and was informed that the price would be $54 or less depending on what was needed to be done. I arrived to the appointment today and was advised by Rae that the price was $54. Rae than asked me if I wanted my puppy's nails grind, I said yes. Rae never informed me that this was an up-charge until I asked to confirm the total. Here I was thinking that my maximum would be $54, since the puppy did not need a lot done and I was up-charged. For them it's all about the upsell and the haircut my puppy received was not worth it. The bathroom at PetSmart was disgusting and when I mentioned it to one of the staff at the desk she was extremely snooty and said, "Why don't you let the staff out front know, I have nothing to do with that." I am a professional herpetologist, and a lifelong tropical fish enthusiast, I Needed a pleco algea eater for my 75gallon freshwater tank and was told she cannot sell me it unless I have a 125 GALLON TANK !! Which barely anyone has. She had 8-9 plecos in a 5 gallon tank but I cant have one in a 75 ? Before that she literally was huffing and puffing when I asked for help acting like I asked her to polish my truck, I have 100s of specimens, ponds and saltwater tanks and she is treating me like I have NO clue what Im talking about.. so rude and annoying the know it all attitude when she clearly dont,. They sell these fish all the time, they are very hearty and adaptable, I left there scratching my head because if she is waiting for people with 125 gallon tanks to buy the many plecos they have the fish will be growing up in 5 gallons at best , how does that make sense? PetSmart is a great place to get your pet supplies. While the prices on some of the cat food we buy is lower elsewhere, we occasionally buy some of the kinds of food we can't find where we buy most of our cat food. They always have well stocked aisles that offer a variety of products for cats, dogs, fish, etc. Check out the adoption center where there are frequently cats waiting for their furever homes. Caring Fields Felines (a no kill cat shelter) usually provides cats up for adoption throughout the year. read more

This review is for Pet Grooming Department. Staff at this Jensen Beach store was pleasant. Place appeared unkept. Not sure its ever been sanitized and sweeping doesn't appear to happen very often. I was disappointed that you pay for extra services that you don't receive. Essentially they determine what service they'll provide and you won't be offered a refund for the services not provided, which appears to be all the extra stuff. Definitely overpaid for service. If you choose to go here, just pay for the basic pet services (ie. bath, haircut nail clips) and you'll be fine. Don't fall for the extra upgraded packages. My pet was supposed to have all kinds of extras like fragrance spritz but did not come out smelling like anything except wet fur smell (even though my pet was dry). Honestly not sure if they used shampoo but I have no way of telling since there was no fragrance. Needless to say i was disappointed and will likely end up going somewhere else for future grooming services. read more

do not ever EVER bring your dog to be groomed here. we brought our beautiful, fluffy 2 yo cocker spaniel to be groomed for the first time at petsmart. after going over EXACTLY what we wanted, only a minor trim and perhaps more of a cut on his ears ONLY, our angel snoopy was given the worst groom. he was shaved completely. his cut is completely uneven however we wanted nothing more to be taken off of our poor angel. I specifically asked to keep his signature fluffy slipper feet and was of the impression only 5/8 of an INCH was going to be CUT off. we were not provided ANY warning AT ALL of what our dog's groom was actually going to look like. all we were told was that he was running a little behind to be finished as "they had to cut our dog's ears a little shorter." other than that, we were told absolutely nothing and I did not even recognize my poor puppy when he walked out, which is even more absolutely heartbreaking. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR DOG HERE. I could have cut my dogs hair better myself. this is 100% not the work of a professional by any means. we feel absolutely horrible and would not wish this same, horrific, and humilating experience on anyone's pet. Needs better management! Very Rude grooming staff do not want my dog around that kind of rotten attitude. Also The rescue dogs on the weekends are in line across the entrance instead of off to the side so every dog that walks in has an anxiety attack as they are barked at buy ten to twenty giant dogs. read more

Would not recommend grooming. My first dog was banned because "he was too old", which is ridiculous. I decided to try again with my Shih Tzu puppy today and after making the trip up there, provided rabies documentation, they refused to groom him because he has a pinky size hernia that he was born with. (Vet decided to repair during neutering in a couple of months. ) My dog is 6 months old and there has been no issue or change in his hernia since he was born but if the dog has ANY medical issue, they refuse to groom them. They were rude and they have now lost my business permanently. Ms manager...you need to change or modify your store policy.. you don't have a good reputation to begin with. .. now your chasing away those that are left. read more

I called Petsmart thinking a nationwide chain would have a clean salon with professional groomers. I was asked if there was anything they should know about Cricket. I shared she was abused for many years, doesn't tolerate being in a kennel and becomes nervous at a groomers more than an hour. The earliest appointment was 10 days in advance. I showed up early with my little 8 lb. Morkie. While checking in, I said I would be waiting for her. I was told the dog would be there approximately 3 1/2 hours. There's some misunderstanding, this dog can't tolerate more than 60 minutes. Another associate, Janine, full of attitude, jumped into the conversation. She said I should have booked an EXPRESS appointment. I asked "what's that"? Oh that's an appointment where we bathe, dry and groom the dog and out the door in 1 hour. This was never offered to me and asked what can be done today to make it right? I was asked to step aside because other customers were waiting to check in so the appointment I was given was actually a "FILL IN" appointment while they work on other dogs with EXPRESS appointments. So be aware if you go into the store in Jensen Beach/Stuart, FL, watch out for this rude employee Janine. She called for a store manager and was told to rebook for the safety of the groomers and other animals. Let's recap: I called 10 days in advance, discussed the personality of my dog, showed up on time, and then subjected myself to 10 minutes of sarcasm from Janine. By the way, Janine is the grooming salon manager! The salon was not clean and I would never suggest using their services. I did call PetSmart Corporate in Arizona, filed a complaint, and that complaint was routed right back to the local store! They don't care about you or your pet! read more

We are here monthly for food, treats, toys, and such. Nothing but good experiences. The staff have been courteous and helpful with special requests. I even drive past other great pet shops, partially from routine but also because the wide aisles are helpful to keep good dogs good. The in-house trainer is another reason we visit this PetSmart. Also, we use the Banfield vet when necessary. The vets and vet staff have seen both of my dogs and we will definitely be back. Since I travel a lot, It helps that Banfield has complete records for my little buddy, available nationwide and within a couple of minutes. But this is our usual vet office. read more

The groomer refused to take my dog because "she barked" and didn't feel comfortable in taking her and said her "safety is first." Never again will go there for grooming. Of course the lids were conveniently out of stock... So what would've cost only $25 for a tank and lid separately, they were charging $40 for them together as a set. Same brand, same exact tank size, etc... No willingness to check the back, or come down on the set that was almost twice the first option. I showed her that my dog was under veterinary care and she still refused to do the grooming--suggesting I need to find a veterinarian who does grooming. This is nonsensical thinking. Not only did I have to call myself numerous times to follow up on blood test results, but when I went to schedule my pets next visit to be spayed...I was told I couldn't bring her in for another 2 weeks?? On top of that, they tell you everything is included when you get your pet spayed, however, the morning you drop your pet off they load on all these extra fees that they FAILED to tell you about when you sign your pet up for their wellness plan. The grooming area is the Worst place to take your pet, that is if you expect quality of service and respect. Mrs Kelly, is the worst groomer due to her lack of knowledge, professionalism and thanks to her i had the worst experience ever. . I took my beautiful shih tzu who has long white amazing hair for a clean up cut and this female groomer dare to basically shave up my dog completely . Unbelievable that she would not know the difference between a perfectly kept hair that only needs trimming as she was instructed vs a dog that needs shaving. When I discussed the situation with the supervisor, he did nothing but try to excuse her lack of professionalism and offered me a 15% off my next visit. Please beware of this place, these people are not responsible nor professional groomers, they are not respectful at all and there's no customer service. My review is 0 stars!!!!!
