I've had 6 dogs in the last 33+ years and Here Boy has groomed all 6 beautifully! i recently adopted a rescue [American Eskimo/Samoyed mix] who could seem aggressive to others. Here Boy took him and groomed him without hesitation, so I'm not sure why some people gave such negative reviews. I wouldn't go anywhere else! The establishment is NOT dirty, the owner Nancy is phenomenal, and the groomers are all very friendly. I've seen a lot of disturbing videos lately of dogs being mistreated by other establishments/groomers and I have NEVER EVER had to worry about my babies being mistreated by anyone there. I love Nancy and her team and they LOVE dogs! 33+ years of being a loyal client and being treated as such, speaks volumes! She was bathed and groomed and done in no time, the girls were so good with her, she is older and a love bug, they talked sweetly to her and she was fine, even got a cute pink bow to match her bedazzled collar. Because I spoil my puppers, I couldn't help it, and I bought a variety of snacks and baked goods they have on display- I seriously couldn't decide LOL, so I even included two huge pig ears for her. When I picked her up, it looked like nothing much was done to her. I assumed it was another puppy cut and did not know my husband specifically requested for her to be shaved until I got home. Jenny refuses to give us our money back and takes no responsibility for this. She claims that it is theft to dispute a service charge and if I dispute the charge, she will send the police to my house. What a real professional and mature way to handle the situation. We requested our money back because we need to go somewhere else and get our dog fixed. They charged me $110 and barely did anything to her and what was done to her is a complete mess. I don't trust them touching any of my dogs again, as I have 2 other dogs that I have been bringing there for years. You would think Jenny would have handled this much better, as I have been a loyal customer for 5 years now. In addition, I did question the absurd $110 charge and I was told it was because she got full service. It is quite comical how Jenny also claims that many customers don't show up for their appointments, as she complained to me how she needs to charge for that. So she charges for services not rendered in many ways.I will never be going back. Shame on you Jenny! This is not a way to do business. In regards to your reply Jenny, You are a liar! Your Groomer did not speak to us during the appt and she did not what we asked. You did not shave her down and you did not do $110 worth of services. How dare you charge that much for a puppy that you did nothing to! And you did threaten me with the police and told me that they will show up at my house. If anybody is reading this go find yourself another groomer. There are plenty of others.

Great local grooming shop. We've been using the Salty Dog on our 3 little beasts for 3 years now…read moreand have always had positive experiences. 1st and foremost, they stick to appointment times. I can't stand when I have an appointment and the dog is there all day. I understand some shops work in that manner like an assembly line, but when dogs have anxiety, it's not a positive experience for them. We have 2 dogs which are rescues and don't do well with extended stays. So kudos to SD for sticking with appointments and getting the dogs out as fast as possible. 2nd - the shop doesn't smell like wet dog, they do their due diligence to ensure the place smells good and clean. 3rd - owner / employees, they're all sweet, they converse a bit and make you feel comfortable about leaving a piece of your family with them. 4th - fair pricing, some shops are ridiculous. 5th - they offer a good product. All in, we live close to the shop and happy with the service they provide.

I had a family emergency on the day I had a appointment I was running late (10 minutes) when I called they started telling me that they had appointments back to back and I would have to hurry I was literally a block away and they called me and said they would have to re-schedule , and would not take my dog. Now my dog is 5 lbs and they keep him when I did go there for 3 to 5 hours long.. I was so aggravated I was racing there and just could not believe they would cancel for 10 minutes late any establishment allow for customers that are running late..Needless to say I will never go back there, there is no loyalty .
