Couldn't ask for a better place. Mr. Campeone has an enormous love for these dogs. Do not believe any bad reviews about this canine center. This place deserves 10 stars. Mr Campeone and his assistant Chris have an enormous love for every dog that walks through their dogs. They have time for toy before and after class. They will even call you on the phone to answer your questions. Jazzy, completed Basic Obedience with an Achievement award and Second Place. Now it's off to Therapy Class to become an assistance dog. Everyone should bring their dog to Kindred Souls.

Kindred souls has done wonders for my rescue girl! We've had her for 5 years and Pete and his crew broke her of habits and made her into a much happier, less skittish dog. In the short time we've been in the basic obedience class our dog has gained the confidence she needs to participate in the service dog training class. We hope to be able to bring her to hospitals to interact with sick kids and I know that by going to Kindred Souls, she will be a professional therapy dog in no time! Thank you Kindred Souls!

My dog and I truly enjoyed our time here. I would recommend this place to my friends and family. The training opened my eyes how to train my pup. I got so much more out of being here weekly and doing the homework then reading any book or watching a youtube video. Thank you for the wonderful experience, I hope to take obedience class II in the future.

I use to go to Kindred Souls a number of years ago with my two Papillions, both who finished 1st place in Pete's obedience classes. He was by far the best dog instructor I ever trained under. I live near Princeton and went to a number of schools in my area ,but decided driving 40 miles down to Pete at Kindred Souls was a better option. Pete has always had a connection to every dog he met, small or large. Animals are an amazing judge of character. My dogs are 6 and 8 lbs and even with all the larger dogs in class, I always felt safe working the the routines as Pete was always in control and monitored the class with a watchful eye. I am a number of years outside obedience as my dogs are older now but have recommended Pete to a number of friends who added puppies to their households. Just visited this Sat for my first time in a long time...how great it was to be back. I sat there watching Pete work with everyone and their dogs. I so enjoyed it and wished for a new puppy to train !! Bottom line, Pete knows dogs and how to get the best of them ! A definite recommendation for Pete and Kindred Souls !

This class has been one of the best moves my family and I have ever made! I adopted my dog (Bravo) from the Monmouth County Humane Society; and to say the least, he was a bit disobedient. After only a few weeks of going to class & doing the homework weekly, I noticed a positive significant change in Bravos' behavior!!! Pete & Chris are true professionals and know exactly what they're talking about. Anytime they suggested a corrective behavior for Bravo & I , it worked 100% of the time!! Also, they always take the time after class to address any questions or concerns you may have. I am still a novice first time dog owner and have much to learn. BUTTT the skills and knowledge they've equipped me with give me the confidence going forward with my pup to develop an extremely healthy relationship with him !!! We still have one more week to go until Bravo graduates and I am amazed how far we've come! I HIGHLY recommend Kindred Souls to all who may read this!!

I was very happy that I decided to bring my dog for basic obedience training at kindred souls. Pete and chris were great with me and my dog. They taught him to sit, stay, come and leave it all in six weeks. They gave me the basic tools and confidence I needed to continue training my dog. They are very dedicated in helping you and your dog. You can call them with a question and they will have an answer for you. I would recommend taking your dog there to get trained very satisfied with the results.

I was told he's doing great and coming out of his shell as he was nervous when I dropped him off. I didn't hear from anyone until Tuesday October 5th (the day before pickup) when I received a voicemail from Mallory that she needed to speak with me. When I returned her call I was informed that my dog had a rash on his neck and wanted to tell me before picking him up the next day and it shouldn't be a "cause for concern." She stated that the day after he was dropped off, staff noticed a tiny itchy, dry spot on his neck that progressively got worse. She continued to repeat that they didn't want this to be a cause for concern and naturally concerned, I asked to be sent a picture of the rash. This was no rash at all. The picture I was sent showed my dog next to a trainer with a raw, oozing wound where his jaw meets the base of his neck. It looked very infected and he definitely needed medical treatment so I immediately went to the facility to pick him up. When I arrived, I did not find my dog in the same condition as shown in the picture I received just an hour earlier. His wound was dry and completely scabbed over. The staff stated the wound looked much better than before (because it was healing). I immediately took him to the vet for a thorough exam and our vet diagnosed a skin infection of the hair follicles caused by injury to the skin. He also estimated that the original picture I was sent earlier that day was taken at least a few days prior. The vet also estimated that this injury occurred at least a full week prior to the training staff notifying me. Not only did my dog have an infected injury on his neck, he also had an infected wound on his testicles, had lost a significant amount of weight, as well as developing upper respiratory infection. Prior to sending him to the facility he was a big overweight with a very thick coat. The dog I picked up had lost at least 10 lbs and his spine and hip bones can be felt to the touch. The picture I was sent from staff showed a very obvious infection and the staff neglected to care for my dog or notify me that he needed medical treatment and attempted to treat this wound themselves with only A&D ointment. When asked about the 24 hour veterinarian on call mentioned on the training facility website, the staff stated they do not have a veterinarian on call. A bit misleading. After examining the neck wound we noticed small bumps around the sides of the wound that seem consistent with a pronged collar. We don't know how these injuries occurred but it's very clear our dog was NOT properly cared for and the staff neglected to provide our dog with basic medical treatment or at the very least inform us that our dog needed to see a vet. I will NEVER recommend the Dan Gentile Training to anyone.

I'm writing now because we now have a new puppy and I was looking for training places and this place came up and brought up bad memories so I felt I needed to write our experience. We dropped our dog off and went on a trip so she could go through the program. Coming back to pick the dog up we couldn't wait to see our dog thinking she would be so excited to see us but to our surprise our dog was subdued and looked defeated. No tail wagging or anything. Before the trainer showed us what they did, she commented that if WE didn't follow directions we had to put $25 in this jar. We laughed it off as though she was kidding but to be honest I don't think she was. They walked us through what they did and the "progress" and mind you they had a spike collar on the dog so when you pull it digs right into their neck. The trainer was showing us and she pulled so hard my dog let out a painful yelp! It looked like torture to be honest. We immediately said we are done here and left ASAP! My dog eventually recovered and we found a dog trainer that used positive enforcements and she became her happy self again

The results spoke for themselves. However, he was quick to demand the full payment, which exceeded $2,000, without any recourse. In a nutshell, we were made to prepay a stranger we met only 20 minutes earlier, who was giving us a typical sale "shpiel" of his company being the best around. What a lie! Apparently, the love for our dog made us forego requisite due diligence and caution in choosing a dog trainer. There was no methodology as to how to train our dog most basic functions. For example, while the first trainer, Dana, kept feeding our dog treats every 2 minutes to make him compliant, the second trainer, Shan.... (forgot her full name) abandoned the "feeding" practice, but suggested to cross the street if the dog was pulling in a different direction during the walk. Contrary "techniques" between the 2 trainers were obvious. After 6 sessions and countless walks and "in-home practices" with and without trainers, our dog did not learn much (in fact, he regressed) and we gave up on Michael's Dog Training because we saw no progress. We realized we were wronged. Bottom line, we strongly do not recommend this business.

Scott is unique in that he only boards one dog at a time, which allows the dog to get a lot more attention than in other boarding settings; as such, his rates tend to be slightly higher at around $65/night (give or take). Francis was definitely a bit sad the day we brought him home due to all the fun he had with his buddy Boogie. NOTE: must text him and sometimes remind for updates, but he does come through as he maintains a busy schedule as a dog trainer.
