Stopped into Pettit's Lakeview Bar and Grill for a quick Bloody Mary and had a great experience. The service was friendly and welcoming right away, which always makes a place feel comfortable when you're just popping in for a quick stop. The bar and seating areas were clean with plenty of seating, and the lake view is beautiful -- definitely a great spot to sit back and enjoy a drink. It has a relaxed, classic lake bar feel. We didn't order food from the menu this time, but they do offer food. There was also a local woman there selling homemade sourdough bread that was to die for. I took a cinnamon roll home with me and it was so fresh and delicious. Overall, a really nice stop for a drink, great service, and a great view. I'd definitely stop back again. read more

Normally excellent food this year but we came here tonight and they were out of just about everything on the menu. So disappointing. No bruschetta burger, no pina colada bowl, no asian bowl, no shrimp potstickers. I realize its a tuesday night but come on. Needed a place to eat lunch that was close to the marina where we were test driving a pontoon. This place had some great reviews and now we know why. I really want to come back on a nice summer day. They have some wonderful outdoor seating with a view of the lake. We ordered drinks. A Bloody Mary, and a hot Kahlua coffee were enjoyed while waiting for our food. My husband had the ahi tuna bowl which he said was amazing and I had the blackened grouper sandwich with fries, also worth trying. They have a lot of good looking dishes on the menu. Found this place, while looking for dinner in the area and it had good reviews, so we decided to check it out. When we arrived we were skeptical as it's a tin building in the back of a seasonal campground. We considered leaving, but decided to give it a try. We were greeted by friendly, attentive staff and a fun interior decor. We sat at a table by the window overlooking the lake. They have a nice drink selection and a number of interesting menu selections. I love crab cakes, so had to try the crab cake grilled cheese, which turned out to be awesome. The crab cake was crispy inside an excellent grilled cheese on sourdough. I also had a 1/2 blue cheese wedge, with real blue cheese crumbles and then additional blue cheese dressing and bacon. My wife had the Ahi Tuna bowl which was also delicious. We were both very pleased with the experience. Surprisingly good food for a hole in the wall in a campground. Outdoor seating aplenty!!! Oh my goodness! I'm so glad I decided to venture to this hidden gem!!! I didn't even check in the large building -- it was too nice of a day to do so. Cocktails are very beach-vibe, light and refreshing mixes for sunny summer days! I tried the Mermaid Lemonade with rum, curaçao, and lemonade. So tasty and not as sweet (good thing!) as I was expecting. Food options are plenty and have very reasonable prices for portion size and quality. I orders the classic Bleu cheese wedge salad. I wasn't sure if it was order at the bar or table service, but sign stated to seat yourself so I did. I was planning to take a few photos then check in with staff, but a server came out promptly and got me set up with menu and tableware. Dogs are welcome and plenty of kids running around on and out of the water. Live bands every Thursday-Sunday. For safety-- I noticed an AED onsite outdoors which makes me feel good! read more

Just had lunch at Pettit's with 7 adults and 4 children. The setting was perfect for a family because the older kids could play on the beach and at the waters edge while we sat on the deck. The service by Beth was excellent and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent we especially liked the grouper reuben and the double cheeseburger. We will return the next time we are in WI. read more

Was referred to come to this spot for lunch as we were in the area and also looking to a good lunch break. We were fortunate to have Lilly as our server and she did a fantastic job. Very attentive not to keep us waiting. We had the bloody Mary's, spicy - just enough heat and not spicy. Started off w the wonton cheese sticks. What a great idea! Really tasty. Dad had the CA chicken sandwich, and had the spicy shrimp appetizer and his daughter had the crab cake grilled cheese. All very good. We sat closest to the beach and enjoyed watching the littlest having a great time in the water. Definitely reminded us we needed to make plans for a much needed vacation. Would definitely recommend. Maybe we visited on an off day but this place really, really sucked. We ordered curds, a burger and the Italian beef sandwich all of which was bland and way overdone. Came on a cold winter's eve, so didn't really get to enjoy any of the lake views or summer vibes. Enjoyed my visit nonetheless. It's definitely got a bar (sports bar, maybe? though I didn't notice if they had TVs or not) kind of vibe. When you walk in, seat yourself and a server will be by with menus. We arrived on a Friday evening to find their parking lot absolutely packed with cars, so we figured we'd be in for a bit of a wait for a table. When we walked in, however, we were able to be seated right away. Although it was Valentine's, we were expecting a casual burger type meal. They had a special Valentine's menu, however! So, while the atmosphere is definitely casual, we were delighted to find surf & turf on the menu. The kiddo ordered a mushroom swiss burger (reportedly delicious and only eclipsed by the reported extreme deliciousness of the fries). While I didn't order a burger, I did note they serve Impossible burgers as well as beef (nice!). Both my partner and I ordered the surf and turf, which was lobster, steak, and a lobster loaded baked potato, and also came with a trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was ok (nothing spectacular, but fresh enough). The lobster was delicious. The steak was a-ok, but could have maybe used more seasoning? Not sure what the deal was, it just was a bit lacking in flavor, though perfectly grilled. The potato was delish. We also ordered bourbon old fashioneds, which were well made (in the basic bar style, not a mixologist craft cocktail style). The service was above and beyond wonderful and the prices were average. Nice lake view, good drink list, good service and wait time, but food was poor quality. We ordered the mozzarella sticks appetizer, a BLT sandwich, and I had the cod fish fry. Very disappointed in the cheese sticks. Just a school lunch string cheese wrapped in egg roll wrapper and fried, served room temperature by the time it arrived. BLT was okay. Fried cod pieces were tough, chewy, and small. The coleslaw that came with the fish meal was likely a day or two old, wilted and soggy. The mac&cheese that came as my second side with the fish was the same as my childhood Kraft mac&cheese from a box, shockingly the part of my meal I enjoyed the most. Would not return unless just for drinks, because those were good, well priced, and cold. We drank tap beer and Chardonnay wine, which came as an entire mini bottle just for me. read more

Great lunch on a weekday. The sun was out but we sat in the shade with a lake view overlooking the swimming area and stage for live music. The wings, curds and shrimp were all good. Service was good and fast. It looked like a very fun spot later in the day as they had corn hole, other games and lots of room to move about. Excellent atmosphere on Lake Koshkonong. Been there several times and never disappointed in food or service. Frequent entertainment in lakefront stage. Very enjoyable and we will make up excuses to head that way so we can stop for a beverage and a meal. Bees and hornets hang around as you can expect this time of year but it is an outdoor restaurant. New to the area so I thought we would give their Friday fish fry a try. We were seated on arrival as the place was almost full but had a couple of empty tables. Our waitress took our drink order and food order in a timely manor. Drinks were very high priced for the area but not out of line if you were in Chicago. Food prices were high for the area and type of place it was. No French fries were a choice with the fish fry which seems odd. They offer a really bad boxed cheesy potato or up charge you $2.00 for a luke warm baked potato. The portions of fish were small and over cooked so the $14.50 price seems to be a bit much. Might be a good place to have a cheap beer and listen to some music in the summer but as for a Friday fish fry place there are much better options in the area. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant bar for four years now the atmosphere is great and the food and service has always been exceptionally done well. I would recommend this nice bar restaurant to my friends and family to come visit if you're close to Newville Wisconsin it's not far off of I-90 headed towards Madison. My husband and I use to stop in for a great meal when we owned a boat!! Plus, Friday Saturday & Sunday's they always have great outdoor entrainment stop by for some awesome food and listen to some nice music. read more

Good evening.. Just left Lakeview had order my dinner. California burger says it comes with avacado on it. Nope it was not it had the consistency of ketchup. Also there was a hair in my food. Waiter was great. Management not so much. Manager didn't even come out and say sorry. She hid inside like a coward. I am so disappointed in this place we go every Sat. from May-Sept. and a couple times in the winter. We sometimes have a party of 10 or sometimes just the 2of us. We had a lot of fun stopping in here for the first time ever. We had a little trouble finding the place at first, however it is well worth the search. For an appetizer the bartender suggested some Coconut breaded shrimp with an amazing coconut sauce for dipping. Then for a sandwich my wife and I split the crab cake grilled cheese. It was wonderful and the crispy sourdough bread made the the sandwich. We ask the bartender several questions about the area and other nearby business's in which she happily answered. They have a beautiful view of the lake and a large sand beach to relax at. Lots of great photo opportunities here! Not to mention Playground equipment for the kiddos to play on and so forth. We had our staff Christmas party here for 10 people. I ordered California grilled chicken and upgraded to sweet potato fries...that was a good call! They were crispy and just right. Others ordered variety of sandwiches, burgers, chicken strips, or quesadillas which everyone really liked. We were able to play games and visit for awhile after eating. We weren't rushed to leave which was refreshing. I would go back try something different..I hear great things about the burgers. read more
