This has to be the worst correspondence I've ever had with a veterinary office. I call the office…read moreand ask which days they perform surgery. My pup needs a dental cleaning and these are performed on days surgeries are done. The woman on the phone says she isn't sure which days are for surgery. Ok, maybe she's new. She asks for a call back number. 4 hours pass by. I call back. She answers. I identify myself and she says she's alone and doesn't have the information yet but she would call back. This is odd. Is this a new establishment? I don't ask but say ok. Next day I call and a new woman answers. I identify myself and explain everything. She says she sees a note left by the other woman. I ask the woman in the phone if she has the surgery dates and I ask if I can schedule something. She says she isn't able to schedule anything and she doesn't have the pertinent information. I ask if there's anyone else i can speak to and she says no. I'll have to wait until the other woman is back to the office the next day. So, 2 business days in a row and I can't get any information or schedule an appointment with this vet. Next day, I call back and reached the initial woman I spoke to and get a lot of information. GREAT! I get a form sent via email that they need filled and to send it back. Great! No problem. I send the form, my pup's vaccination records, medical history. They then ask for a copy of my driver's license. This is unprecedented. I ask multiple friends and family if they've ever accounted this (as I haven't) and nobody has ever been asked for their driver's license at a vet's office. So, via email (see photo attached), I ask the office why they need my license as this is irregular. They could have responded saying it's just their protocol. They could have responded with a string of bad incidents with clients. Instead, the office seems offended! In 30 years of being in operation no client has ever asked such a thing! So, instead of simply answering the question I get what seems to be a nuclear response. I'm to blame and how dare I question them! Who am I to ask?! What nerve! They informed me that my appointment has been cancelled and my pup's records have been shredded. I've never in my life!!!! Read the office's response in the attached photo. Take your business elsewhere. You deserve better and so does your pet.

Then after I said goodbye to my sweet boy they were supposed to be prepping his paw prints and whiskers for me to take, they were gone for about 30 minutes leaving me in the room to wait wondering what was taking so long. Then they brought me out of that room for check out and again the lady is clicking around through the computer for an extremely long time just to charge me for the cremation. During this time there was another couple coming in to pick up their pet and they are behind me "oooing and ahhhing" over their pet while I'm am the counter just wanting to get out of there while this lady is clicking around forever just to check me out. NOT a fan. The items they gave me for my boy were very nice and I appreciated them. Oh and the next few days out, not one person called me to check in on me to see how we are getting on without our boy. ZERO care! This place is just an emergency money grab. They capitalize off the fact that they are one of the only ER vets in Jacksonville. Everything about their systems says that they don't actually take their patients and humans into account in the things they do or the way they do things. They made the worst night of my life, so far, so much worse. If you have the choice, don't go here! If you don't have the choice, I'm so sorry.

I had a healthy vibrant 7 year old Labrador retriever. I…read moretook her to be spayed. 8 days later, we took her back due to lethargy and no appetite. Up until day 7, she was drinking and moving about... ate small amounts. They told us she was dehydrated and nauseous due to the take home meds and her blood work showed signs of infection so they gave her fluid, take home meds for nausea and oral antibiotics. The next morning, she collapsed and was unconscious. They told us to take her to the ER. They did an ultrasound and bloodwork. The diagnosis was sepsis, a large blood clot in her abdomen, and fluid in her lungs. They recommended euthanasia. There was nothing they could do at that point. The response from DR DILL was, "Sorry for your loss, she was an older dog." She was also an emotional support dog for my nonverbal ASD grandson. We are heartbroken and certainly didn't see this coming. They didn't even try to help and I still have $3000. to pay on the credit card. After receiving her records, they state we were told she was septic the night before and she should be treated in the ER. That is a lie. They spoke to me on the phone and my daughter is the one that took her. Nothing was said. I have reason to believe the records were altered afterward. This animal "hospital" is the worst place I've ever encountered. Dr Dill couldn't even bother to introduce himself and talk to me when I picked her up after the surgery. Also, I have to add that she was examined and had bloodwork, prior to the surgery, and was deemed to be in great health. Do yourself a favor and find another vet immediately.

Unfortunately, their response misrepresents my experience and shifts blame onto me by suggesting I declined care. This is categorically false. At no point did I refuse treatment--once pyometra was suspected, I immediately agreed to surgery because I trusted their team. The issue is not that pyometra carries risk. I understood that. The issue is that after surgery, when it was clear Luna was deteriorating, I was never directly told the truth of her condition. Instead, I was reassured she was "fine," instructed to "monitor her at home," and told to "bring her back in the morning if she worsened." Staff placed her--weak, pale, and struggling to breathe--into my car as the clinic was closing, knowing she was not stable. Within 20 minutes, she died in my backseat on the way to the emergency vet.I was never given the chance to make an informed decision about her final moments, such as pursuing immediate transfer or humane euthanasia. I was denied complete medical records documenting what, if anything, was done to support her after surgery. This is not simply about a tragic outcome--it is about a lack of transparency, compassion, and accountability. A family should never have to discover their pet is actively dying only after leaving the clinic that just discharged them. I continue to call for the clinic's leadership to take responsibility for the failures in Luna's care and to ensure no other pet is sent home in such a condition.

I was one of Dr. Patel's first customers with my little Chihuahua BuBu I am reading some of these…read morecomments and you're complaining that you are trying to get healthcare for your animal and you don't have any money. I'm in the same boat. You all need to apply for a care credit card and have it on hand, you cannot go into a vet and pay half there and half later it's just the fact it's not Dr. Patel being ignorant. He is a very compassionate man towards my dog so when he tells you he can't have a payment plan it's your fault, especially if you are reading this and don't apply for a care credit card. I had to take my dog to the emergency room the other night down the street. They cleaned me out because he had seizures tomorrow morning. I will be walking into see Dr. Patel to tell him everything he gives it to me straight, tells me the price tells me what I can get by to pacify my dog and always has been. I moved away to the beaches area. I still commute to him his medicine that he distributes out of there is at a very fair price try going somewhere else and getting it. It will cost you sometimes twice as much. I can't say anything better than Dr. Patel other than I wish he was a 24 seven emergency care when he is out of town. He has other veterinarians that are very compassionate that sit in for him. my dog has heart problems and now has to be put on a seizure medication as the emergency room at blue pearl down the street says which is another excellent place so do not complain about a man who is running a tight knit business and doing it well he is reasonably priced in is thorough my Chihuahua BuBu is well taken care of by him. His medication's cost about 65% of which other vets have charged. He has stated the art equipment. He is a veterinarian that doesn't have a bunch of decorations on the walls. He just takes care of animals and has taken care of my dog for years since he is opened do not complain about price or that he can't put you on a payment plan get a care credit card use it here and there because it will cut you off if you don't use it and if you have an extensive problem with your animal, they will cover it. Yes, it is about 20% on the dollar but what are you going to do when your fur baby is in peril and you go in there and the bill is $2000 and you only have 500 bucks in your pocket so give this man a break he is awesome.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this veterinary clinic…read more Yesterday, I called for a same-day appointment because I was concerned that my dog was declining. He had been seen at this clinic just 10 days earlier and was started on medication, but he was not improving. I became especially concerned when I noticed his tongue appeared pale. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was kind, professional, and got us into a room quickly. Unfortunately, that was where the positive experience ended. For context, my dog had a large lung tumor and had been under veterinary care for several years. We had recently moved to the area, so this was only his second visit to this particular clinic. During his first visit 10 days earlier, he was examined without sedation and there were no issues. While my dog can be protective of me and my children, especially in unfamiliar situations, he has never bitten anyone, attacked anyone, or required sedation for routine examinations. When the veterinary technician entered the room, my dog barked. I had my infant with me, and he was clearly being protective. The technician immediately jumped back and left the room. A short time later, she returned and began discussing the cost of x-rays. I explained that I wanted the veterinarian to examine him first so we could determine whether x-rays were even necessary. At that point, I was told that the veterinarian would not examine my dog without sedation. I explained that he had been examined at this same clinic just 10 days earlier without sedation and without any issues. The technician then stated that my dog was "coming after her" and that no one would enter the room unless he was sedated. This was shocking to hear. My dog barked, but he never lunged at anyone, never left my side, and never attempted to bite anyone. Given his history, his condition, and the fact that he had been examined by this clinic only days earlier, I felt that the decision to refuse even a basic examination without sedation was unreasonable. One of the reasons I initially chose this clinic was because it appeared to be a lower-cost option focused on accessible and compassionate animal care. Because of that, I was especially disappointed by this experience. Instead of assessing my dog's condition first, the conversation immediately shifted to sedation and additional procedures. Whether intentional or not, it left me feeling as though the focus was on billing for services rather than evaluating a patient who was clearly in distress. I ultimately decided to leave and seek care elsewhere because I no longer felt comfortable with the treatment we were receiving. At the second veterinary clinic, I was told that sedating my dog in his condition could have been unsafe because he was already in significant distress. Tragically, we ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize our beloved dog that same day. I am incredibly grateful to the veterinary team that cared for us during those final moments with compassion, empathy, and dignity. What makes this experience so upsetting is that what turned out to be my dog's final day began with me feeling dismissed rather than supported. During one of the hardest moments a pet owner can face, I expected compassion, empathy, and a willingness to assess the situation before recommending sedation. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we received.
