Had the absolute worst experience here. Would give 0 stars if i could. I went in trying to get 3 vaccines for my dog-- bordatella, distemper & rabies (3yr just expired) I understand the 2 hour wait, and not frustrated about that because this is a walk-in clinic and I was expecting that. However, while we were in the room, I asked the vet tech to confirm that we were getting the 3 yr rabies vaccine. She said no, and her excuse was because they didn't have my dog's prior vaccine records. I told them I have the official email from her old vet stating her rabies vaccine is expired with the date and everything; and along with that-- we can call the clinic and they are pretty diligent with sending the records immediately upon request. She rejected my suggestion, did not even look at the email that I offered to show, and insisted that my dog will have to come back in a year to get rabies vaccination again. What a lie of an excuse because the only reason I even confirmed what type of rabies vaccine we were getting is because prior to going in the room, while they were prepping the vaccine tray, I overheard them talking at the front desk about how they couldn't find their 3 year vaccines. But fine right, I let it go. They asked me if i wanted to do heartworm test and preventative meds, which I initially said no to. But after they gave me my total for the 3 vaccines, I changed my mind because altogether, it was still within my budget to include the heartworm testing. We were done, they handed me my receipt which showed different more technical names for the vaccines that my dog got. I waited for them to write me a prescription for the heartworm medicine, and when they handed off the prescription to me, they said goodbye have a good weekend. I was about to leave but decided to double-back and make sure that I got the 3 vaccines that I wanted because they were named differently on the receipt. So i asked-- "just to be sure, she got bordatella, distemper, and rabies, correct?" They go into my dog's file and say, "yes, but oh, by the way, you have to come back in 3 weeks for the 2nd dose of distemper" I was baffled because no one informed me prior that the distemper would be 2 doses. Before getting frustrated, I double checked and asked "okay, but that's included in what I already paid for today, correct?" ($220) They said "no, you'd have to pay another $117 for a wellness check and the 2nd dose when you come back" What the hell. Never have I thought i'd have to spend a whopping $300+ for 3 vaccines for my dog. Had I been informed initially that the distemper vaccine came in 2 doses and i'd have to pay additional for the 2nd dose and another mandatory check up-- i would have rejected the heartworm test & meds. More importantly, if I didn't double back to confirm the vaccines my dog got, they wouldn'tve told me at all that I had to come back in 3 weeks for another dose-- considering they already sent me off with "bye have a good weekend" NEVER COME HERE. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS.

Our dog was well cared for. The vet was mindful of her care and also of making sure the Rx was the less expensive option.

I have also had animals my whole life and experienced many different veterinarians. My pets have been to The Center for Avian & Exotic Medicine (in NYC), the Animal Medical Center (in NYC), the Plainfield Animal Hospital, and also Fanwood Animal Hospital. I have experienced many different vets and I have to say that Dr. Stuart is the first one to really know what he's talking about. He understands the science behind everything that goes on in the bodies of animals. He's not someone who just went to Cornell or some other Ivy League vet school, has a fancy degree, and no experience or real knowledge to draw from. What's especially important to note about Dr. Stuart is that he specializes in small and exotic animals. Again, it's easy to say that you specialize in that but not have real training and life experience to guide you. However, he does and you would know that from one visit with him. I really appreciate that Dr. Stuart will spend as much time as necessary with you to help you understand what is going on with your animal(s) and he isn't worried about just pumping customers in and out. Overall, I started bringing one animal to him for the sake of convenience, and now all of my animals are being taken care of by him. If you want the best for your animals, bring then to him.

The fees on the bill included services I was not told were being performed and never once was I given any idea of how high the charges would be. The bill would have been easier to swallow if my gecko at least showed signs of improvement or at least even made it through the night. I have another Pomeranian Louie, who I rescued from a cruel family. They beat him and kept him outside for three months chained up in the sweltering heat and rain.Louie is a beautiful 3 year old toy Pomeranian. I brought him here for a check up. Just recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic somerset veterinarian group does things a little bit differently. I had to make an appointment over the phone, and once I arrived I was asked to wait in my car and they would come out and get me. No one waits in their waiting room anymore, they bring you right into an exam room. If you just need medication you can call over the phone and give them your credit card number and they will leave the package outside in a special area designated. If your pet needs bloodwork then they must be seen first. They are taking great precautions to keep everyone safe. I love Dr. Miller she is very kind and caring veterinarian. I have used another vet at the office who also was very nice. They put my dog at ease, he's very scared and anxious around people and the staff really takes good care of my Louie. They throughly explain everything that my dog will need in order to stay healthy. I'm given a list that is itemized and has each fee listed. They will work with you if you don't have a lot of money. I was directed on which shots are the most needed at the time, and then advised to the ones that can wait a little bit. This way you don't get stuck with a $500 bill all at once. I also like that they were associated with Animerge in Somerville. That is an emergency veterinarian hospital that's open 24 hours. This Veterinarian is located on route 22 E. in Bridgewater right after the Valero gas station.
