The meat is also really great quality and there is a wide range of different additions to the meats including various marinades or herbed crumbed. This takes a lot of the extra cooking work out for you so will help cut the cooking time in half when you get the meat home! I went there on a Friday afternoon and was the only customer, which meant I had the full attention of the owner who helped me choose some tuna steaks (frozen), snapper cutlets and scallops. He also answered my questions about how best to cook each one. All of their seafood is wild-caught except the salmon and the barramundi. They used to sell commercially only, but since they catch all their own prawns, they decided to expand the business to meet the needs of most people in Adelaide who are hopping on the Paleo lifestyle bandwagon. For 2 snapper cutlets, 2 tuna steaks and about 20 scallops, it cost me $40. I don't usually buy this kind of seafood so I don't know if this is expensive or reasonable, but after cooking up my snapper last night and knowing I was eating a delicious, natural dinner, I decided I was happy with the cost. They are open 9-5 Monday to Friday, and 9-12 on Saturdays, but not in the winter months.

The meats on offer are of a very high quality, but unlike the 1980s, Tancredi offers a large range of marinated and prepared dishes like lamb curry, chicken kiev and marinated steaks and roasts. Aside from the great service, one of the best things is their extended opening hours, perfect if you're coming home from work and need to grab something quick for dinner. It's got a nice butcher shop tiled-walls character to it and the butcher is knowledgeable and friendly. He doesn't use a cash register or a calculator for addition so RESPECT! Getting a little off topic, I would never have expected to find perogies (Eastern European dumplings) here!!! This is the first time I've had perogies since leaving Vancouver two years ago. If you've never had perogies, I highly recommend trying them. Make doubly sure to accompany with fried onions and sour cream. Palmdale sells them for $20 per kilo ($15 a kilo more than I'm used to. OK this is expensive, but their meat is better priced.), but it might be worth it for the novelty. And getting even more off topic, according to Wikipedia the Canadian perogy market is second only to the United States, which has 10x the population. My regular buys here are the Black Forest Ham, Schwarzwalder ham, smoked turkey, polish hunter sausage, weisswurst, sauerkraut, spanish salami and the chilli bratwurst. The staff are friendly and will cut the meat the way you like. They will also let you try some first if you ask nicely.
