The last time was the cheapest, just under $800 to replace the boots on the vents in the roof that they said were the actual cause of the problem. Then it rained a few days later and the roof leaked in places it had never leaked before. Sometimes I have had to call several times to get a response, and then weeks go by before someone actually comes out. Each person who comes out has a different idea about the leaks. They do not seem to talk to one another or to review the photos or other evidence other workers have collected. They do assure me that it's fixed and they do bill me. The billing is fast. I suspect someone calls when they have nothing else going. I realize this review makes me look gullible and stupid. That's my excuse. But the roof still leaks.

An appointment was set up for a week later and that morning, we get a call that the technician was ill and would come the following week. He showed up and was literally here for about 5 minutes and proceeded to tell us that he needed to order shingles and bring his crew and we would get an estimate the next day for the total cost of the work. My husband said to him "this is not going to cost me $2000 dollars is it?" and the guy looked at him in shock. Fast forward a week later and we have no estimate. I called yesterday and suddenly I have a bill for $250 for this technician's service fee to view the job (for 5 minutes!!!). When I call to ask about the estimate as this $250 will apply toward the job if I hire them, I am told that I do not get the estimate until I pay this $250. That was never mentioned to me on the initial call or by the technician when he was here. So I basically told them that I am not paying for this until I see the full estimate. I'm not stupid -- I know a pack of shingles costs between $35 to $45 and he's telling my husband he needs to come back with his crew? It's two small little vent covers which I've already purchased and they were not cheap?! I don't get this, but particularly the bait and switch tactic and nobody told me I had to pay to get my estimate. I fully expected to be upsold or told I would need a roof replacement because that is what these guys are in business for, but to withhold an estimate on a tiny job -- and I told them at the outset -- this is a small job and I don't know if you even do this type of job and the guy who answered the phone said he never heard of covers for the vents before -- so how experienced can these roofers be? I'm still waiting to see if I see the actual estimate and will share the amount for laughs and giggles because I'm sure they saw my house and figured they could charge me a fortune, but I'm a New Yorker and am very street smart so I don't get taken advantage of at all.

On January 14, 2026 I contacted La Mariposa Construction, LLC regarding possible vent/flashing…read moredamage to my HVAC exhaust vent. I was given a quote of $600 over the phone and was told they would "price match" another company I had contacted. The first time La Mariposa came to look at my roof it was dark. The text had said that was no problem, they had flashlights. When they arrived, Roussy, (wife) came inside and explained what her husband Jesus was going to do - examine my roof and attic for a possible leak where the upstairs HVAC was located. At one point she went outside to see what he was doing and came back inside with an infant. (I assumed the child had been outside somewhere with a third adult). Jesus then came inside and told me what he had found. I asked for a written estimate: I received one the next day which stated it would cost $1150 to "repair furnace roof flashing." When I asked about the condition of the other vents, Roussy told me if I wanted them to "return in the daytime to check all vents," they could but that it would cost $99 for a "full roof report." I agreed and they returned five days later. Several things happened during this second visit: Roussy had an infant with her in my home the entire time Jesus was on my roof; she went outside at one point and returned with a second child; when Jesus came in he brought a third child. After Jesus went back outside, the third child used the bathroom and then two of the children wandered over to an area in my living room where I had kenneled my two dogs. I asked Roussy to please supervise her children - I was afraid one of them might stick their fingers in the kennels. (I wondered where the children had been while their parents were in my home. I looked outside when they left but did not see another adult.) Bringing children to a potential customer's home is unprofessional and unsafe. I was supposed to receive the report I had paid for the next day. When I did not hear back from the the company I texted Roussy who told me that Jesus needed to return to my home because he had not taken all of the needed photos of the vents/flashing on my roof. She then texted and said they had found the additional photos on another phone and I would receive the report later that day. Two days later and after many texts from me, I received the report. I reviewed the report and texted Roussy three times asking for clarification regarding the photographed vents. I have never received a response. I later researched this company through their CCB (construction contractor license). La Mariposa Construction has had their license suspended twice in the last 10 years and has a pending complaint filed against them (opened 1/14/26). I do not recommend La Mariposa Construction for any work. They lack professionalism; did not complete the work I paid for and they were unresponsive to my requests to complete the work.

I reached out on 12/27/25 to let them know I'm ready for the lights to come down when they are available. They (Roussy and Jesus) have set up 4 times they would be here to remove the lights and don't show up and don't communicate this with me. I'm not the only one that they have done this to this year. After taking full payment for the service, they are not completing the job and we are having to pay someone else to remove our lights. They don't respond to texts or answer the phone when I call.

Da Bella Sales reps came to my 93-year-old Korean War veteran fathers' home for quote on roof replacement. they invoiced him over $32,000. and got a check for $7,000 down payment. Fortunately, i found out 2nd day of 3-day cancellation period in contract and cancelled. Sales reps showed up at house after cancellation to inquire why. They were rude, telling me as far as they were concerned, I did not exist. They had a signature on a iPad device which was clearly not his signature. I kicked them out of the house. All the way out to the street they continued to tell me i had no authority and I did not exist as far as they were concerned. Incredibly rude. Like i would let the job proceed after this????? Apparently, this is a new business model that some roofers are adopting. Da Bella is a sales company that acquires contracts and then subcontracts with local roofers for the work and then the homeowner cannot rectify any problems later on. This has all been documented in other reviews. I even contacted the Dept of Revenue about a business license and was told that no license existed in the Da Bella name. The DOR also emphatically recommended that I stop payment on the check IMMEDIATELY. I did. I hired a local Roofer called Valiant Roofing at a cost of $13,000 to re-roof dads ranch style house. How is DaBella allowed to do business like this?????
