We stayed in this hotel on October 29, 2023. As we entered the lobby I spoke to a young lady who…read morearranged our room. The young lady told me it would be a $200 peso fee that goes to the hotel since we paid our room thru Expedia. Thru Expedia I chose to pay for the "premium room with a partial view to the beach." I asked the young lady if our room had a partial view to the beach. She assured us it did. She told us that our room was located on the 5th floor up the stairs my wife asked her if there was an elevator. She told us that the elevator wasn't working. As we went up the stairs I noticed our room was in a corner as I opened up the door the window was small and it was half ways frosted. The view was to some trees and a building under construction. You could also see the roof with the air conditioner and other objects. I was like this is not what I paid for. As we decided to go to dinner I asked the young lady in the lobby that I wanted to move rooms because there was no view to the beach. Her response was " I knew you wouldn't be happy with that room. We gave no more rooms available but if you wait till tomorrow we can place you in front of the hotel with a room that has a balcony but you will here music playing all night until 3 am." We would rather sleep in a corner instead of hearing music all night. The next day we decided to try the breakfast. Didn't realize you have to walk a block or two down Avenida 5 to go to a hotel that gas limited options. They were giving taquitos with papa for breakfast. If you wanted more you would have to pay for it. We were willing to pay for other options but the kitchen had no items. We never went back for the free breakfast we would rather pay for it in a real restaurant. Our last day we woke up to no water in our room and came to find out the whole hotel. I had to walk to the ocean at 5am to wash my hands. It was off for several hours. This hotel maybe by the beach but they really need to step up their game. I asked for a partial refund thru Expedia because of what the hotel shows for a partial view to the beach and for what I got. Big difference. They refused. I would never stay here again.

It was inhabited from the 13th to 15th centuries and played an important role in defense and trade. My husband and I toured the Tulum ruins with a tour guide. The site was walkable, although the weather was very sunny and hot. We saw the structures El Castillo, a castle overlooking the beautiful shore; the Temple of the Frescoes, which has wall murals; the Temple of the Descending God; Casa del Chultun; and many others. The ruins were roped off, so we could see them only from a distance and not touch them, but they still looked impressive and interesting. We also enjoyed seeing wildlife such as iguanas. We have visited other Mayan ruins in Mexico and in Belize, and in comparison, I do recommend visiting Tulum.

We went on a March weekend and was surprised it was not crowded which was great. I would love to come back during sunset next time - the dramatic scenery, combining ancient ruins with a beautiful beach and the ocean view, will definitely be worth it!
