On school holidays the park is open to the public! Wish it was open for everyone from dawn to dusk! The other downfall of this park is that sometimes if it rains to fast the park will flood! There were wild Javelina roaming the grounds and burds of all sorts. The mansion was gorgeous. They had benches along the walking paths and lots of shade. Located on Chapin Road at the North Jackson intersection in Edinburg, this is a one mile long…read moreconcrete hiking / bicycling trail developed and maintained by the City of Edinburg. The trail does a loop around a retention pond. It would be prettier if some plants or trees were placed around the pond, but it is what it is. There is a nice, paved parking area which includes a few handicapped spaces. I think it is cool you can bring a friend who is wheelchair bound and walk them around the pond to give them some fresh air and scenery. The sunrise and sunsets can be beautiful reflecting on the water. The parking area is lined with Texas sagebrush bushes trimmed into rectangular shapes. There is also a shaded seating area at the corner. There are no bathrooms, but there is a porta potty. Because of the RGV Summer heat, few venture here mid-day. However, this trail comes alive with joggers in the evening or early morning. Some hikers bring dogs, and some of those dog owners do not pick up their dog's deposits. So, keep your eyes open, and watch your step.

This park is a peaceful park that isn't too loud nor too crowded. For walkers, there is an inner…read moreconcrete side walk, a good 13 feet of dirt and grass, or a street option around the entire park. You can find runners, cyclists, and hikers here, but all exercising in a peaceful way. Cyclists can be seen circling hikers and joggers also circumvent them. For children, the playground area offers shade by huge trees and restroom facilities nearby with a water fountain. You can find swings, slides, monkeybars, and bridges that are well maintained. A pool is available during the summer and it's usually packed, but relatively cheap to spend a day in there. During off season, it's closed and gated to prevent children entering. On the northern side, they have two tennis courts open to the public and two soccer goals. They aren't the full length of an actual soccer field but many a soccer player can be found daily. Newcomers are usually welcomed to join to have more complete teams. Basketball courts are also available with night lifting. Overall, it's a safe park. I usually come around 9 or 10 pm and done feel in any danger whatsoever.

But we wait until 9:30 . So almost two hours after we get in to the house.. Been there they gave you the glasses 3D, they were all dirty (no bueno).. they were useful in some of the rooms but most of the time not. And also they make you feel dizzy. It took us like 5-10 min to finish the whole tour of 27 rooms. It's worth it if you get free tickets or from Groupon a better price. But for the wait.. not worth it.

I finally got a chance to head out and see one of the toros games. Sadly the stadium isn't ready…read morebut it will be done at the beginning of the 2017 USL season. They play in the practice fields for now which are right next to the future stadium. The place is beautiful and modern looking. They have made it look like what the major leagues stadiums would look like. The staff was very helpful since they beginning by offering rides from the parking lot to the practice fields. They also were very helpful in informing people about the team and is current situation in the season. This game was actually a playoff game and was the first in the teams history which sadly ended with a loss. My experience was great and will make sure to make it out to every possible game next season because of the great environment! I recommend for everyone to give this place a try since they will have a beautiful stadium next season and good quality soccer go watch!
