Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. I highly recommend this spot if this is your first or ongoing perm appointment. It was one of the most pleasant experiences, especially for this person who does not like sitting in a chair for long periods of time.

I really wanted to like this place but they failed me on the cut. :( First off, in terms of taking precautions for COVID, this place was fantastic. They sent me detailed information on what to expect and their safety protocols. I avoided getting a haircut because of COVID but this place definitely made me feel comfortable and safe. I made a last minute appointment so there were only Creative Directors available to cut my hair. Despite the high cost I agreed to it because I figured it would be worth it and so the receptionist booked me in with Daniel. I actually hadn't cut my hair in over a year and decided to donate 10+" (my second time doing this, so I knew the process). The salon was also pretty well versed and suggested I bring a ziplock bag with me to store the hair after it's cut. Everything went super smoothly which is why I feel terrible to even write a bad review. I really enjoyed the conversations I had with Daniel but that's where he may have gotten ahead of himself. He told me that as a Creative Director, it's up to him to understand what the client wants through the conversations. So there was obviously a disconnect because the cut he gave me was NOT what I wanted. I have South Asian curly/wavy somewhat thick hair. And for the last 2 decades, my hair has always been cut in layers. But Daniel for some reason didn't pay attention to that and gave me a shoulder length blunt cut. That said, the length I have no problem with because it's going to a very deserving cause, but a blunt cut? Why would any skilled Creative Director think I wanted a blunt cut with my thick, curly bottom-heavy hair? Layers is really the only solution, unless he expected me to want to pin straighten my hair everyday. While he was blow drying my hair was actually when I realized he gave me a blunt cut, at the time I thought maybe he was blow drying it to then dry cut it (which I've had done before and is very common with curly hair) but no. His next client arrived and was waiting in the seat next to me and I just didn't want to stick around any longer, I thought it might look better after I washed it myself and let it air dry, but no. I also didn't have time to go back to see if he would "fix" it. Anyway, I gave myself 2 months to see if the cut would possibly grow on me, nope, still hate it. So I had to share my experience and disappointment. As much as I like Daniel as a person, it doesn't seem like he knows hair as well as he thinks he does.

I showed the assistant pictures of how I wanted the colour of my hair to be like but when it was done, my hair didn't have a gradient. Also the inside of my hair didn't have much of a transition from going black to dark red. In my opinion I think this salon is a great place to get a hair cut but if you are going to get colour done such as, a balayage it's best to look for another place.

I took the time and explain what I wanted and how long I wanted. The guy said easy no problem. So earlier last month danelle cut my hair and left it in a way so I can go grow out my hair. Long story short rays cut was a mess with uneven sides corners and front. In fact that's probably why he used so much gel to push down our hair. Well - pictures speaks louder than words. Not only that but the gel that this ray guy used smelled like sh**. Literally smelled like glue and completely over applied it. This guy will truely destroy this salon. I am not happy and was extremely pissed on the way out. You can't even fix it. This is the last time I along with my friend go there. We were basically set up. Again, I normally don't write reviews and take pictures. But the cut was so awful that I'm forced to write this review to let everyone know to be careful and not be a laughing stock. Me and my friend went to lunch after and the damn waitress was smirking at our hair. God. Imagine how would a girl feel if her hair is completely destroyed. Some hairdressers may want to get you in and out of the chair as soon as possible, but he really takes the time to make sure that you get a good haircut. Several times he will look from multiple angles, press my shoulders down evenly to make sure things are symmetrical, and then make little adjustments here and there. He is also chatty if you feel like talking, and otherwise more reticent if he senses that you want to keep to yourself. I always forget to bring cash, but if you pay cash and not credit card, you get a discount!

I appreciated his detailed approach. One thing I will note is that they are very straight forward with their service. English is not their first language. I am not saying they are rude (please don't misunderstand) but they are clear and concise. Make sure you have an idea of what you want and I think you will also enjoy your experience.
