Very UNPROFESSIONAL OWNERS...I rented this hall in April for my wedding reception in August of…read more2012. A few things happened a couple weeks before the the event and afterwards that everyone should be aware of. First off, a family member of ours inquired of a hall rental on a Saturday (same as ours) 125 guests (same as ours) 6 hr limit (same as ours) and no need of their decorations (same as ours). The difference came in price. Ours was $640 and hers was $375. Another difference. We're African American and she is Caucasian. When we asked the owners Jeff and Judy why is this, Judy gave her famous line of "I dont understand your question" and Jeff said because we were having alcoholic beverages then there was bound to be problems. The funny part about his statement is we never told him we were serving alcohol nor did we serve any. When I informed him of this of course there was still some lame excuse after another but still the price never came down. During clean up after the reception, our wedding coordinator was taking his iffel tower vases to his car and their clean up guy very rudely came up to him, put his hands around the vases and said "those are ours" and preceded to try and take them out our coordinators hand. Thank God our coordinator was professional and told him to read the contract we signed that stated "Crystal Garden will not be providing any decorations". Again, unprofessionalism on their end. Last but not least but NEED TO KNOW!! We gave them a CASH DEPOSIT of $75 which was to be returned to us HINT.. BY CHECK within 7 days after the event. When we didnt receive the check after 9 days, we called them only for them to tell us to wait a couple more days. It probably got lost in the mail because the post office always loses mail or our neighbor has it. We waited 5 more days and still no check. Again called them back and asked for a copy of the check so we could file a police report on it in case someone else cashed it and she told us that she couldnt give us a copy and if we didnt receive the check by now then they dont know what happenened to it and then hung up on me and now will not take my calls when I call. I will be taking them to small claims court which will cost them more than the $75 in the end but hey if thats how they run their buisness, then they shall soon see how I take care of mine.

More recently, I have been able to see her process when I saw her offices and met some of her clients on-site. She has excellent relationships and truly cares about each of her brides or clients, is always quick to communicate via email or phone call and has built up a rapport with so many wonderful vendors to partner with her clients. Brides are lucky to have her and she is so humble and down to earth, she listens and provides what her clients want. There is sanitary issues as well; from the kitchen to the bathroom to the bar itself, which includes the staff who do not appear to be professionally groomed. The customer service is terrible as well. No apologies for long waits or not being properly stocked. Why are there long waits when there is less than 10 people at the venue? There's really no wonder why this place is always empty. The owner continues to promote The Social Club on social media with attractive flyers but once you get there, you will be extremely disappointed.
