This is the perfect place for a nice, local hangout. The bartenders are always extremely nice and they always have some sort of activity, event or live band going on. I live in the apartment complex right across the street from the barn so on top of the close proximity of this bar being a plus it's also an awesome place to go. It's a big bar with plenty of space and seating. They've got two pool tables, a shuffleboard table, an outdoor patio, and a private party room. It's never overly crowded and they've got great prices. I've never eaten there so I can't attest to their food but for the most part they offer your typical bar food. For NYE I rented out their private party room and not only had a great time during the night itself but it was also a pleasure working with The Barn staff. They were very accommodating and worked with me to ensure the night went off without a hitch. It was extremely reasonably priced and it was a great space for my group of friends to ring in the new year. I would never go back here, 2 stars is only because it was clean inside.. But for a place trying to be a gourmet restaurant, they failed miserably. Have had better food off of a food truck We were a party of 15 people and yet only had 1 waitress assigned to us who was also overworked at other tables as well. It was very obvious they were overbooked and understaffed, crazy since we made reservations well in advance. Waited forever for just water, let alone to place and order and finally get food. When the food arrived it was bland, basic and room temperature... Was not worth the price tag at all, got invited here by others and now know this is the spot to avoid unless all you care about is a cool looking joint with no open parking. read more

The Barn is like that friend with some kinda personality disorder that can change dramatically depending on the day of the week. I've seen many sides of the Barn. Let me talk about a few: The Friday/Saturday Barn: I dont like people. Especially douchy people and/or lots of people. Bands play, bands people like, probably good bands but they are loud and it's crowded and this is not the place for me. The Sunday/Monday Barn: Oh that's right, the Barn isnt open on Sunday or Monday. Sad panda. The Tuesday/Thursday Barn: This is the best its going to get. There is lovely low lighting, its clean, its a super cool authentic barn atmosphere. The music is usally a skosh too loud and a skosh too young but its nothing terrible. Beer is never really cheap but some nights martinis are $5 and some nights you pick a drink and it's $4 all night. Not bad. There is a nice big bar area and lots of comfy couches and chairs. The Wednesday Barn: Wednesday is trivia night. Apps are half price until 7 pm. This is a very good deal. The chicken taquitos are really good as well as the buffalo chicken dip and at around $3 each make for a super tasty cheap dinner. Trivia starts at 7:30 and there are usually between 15-20 teams playing. The place gets pretty busy and if you want 6 - 7 seats all together you need to get there and stake out a table before 6 pm. This makes for a pretty long night. The trivia is fun but I think it is one of their busier nights and its very difficult to get any service at all, let alone good service. It is one of the more fun and competitive triva games I have been to but its popularity is also its downfall. Bottom line is I can practically throw a rock at this place from my porch. In other words, being able to walk home or drive home in less than 1 minute is a HUGE plus in my book. I also quite enjoy this place when it is not crowded. All this considered I will definitely be back and therefore it would not be fair to give the Barn less than 4 stars. read more

Great place to be on a Friday night as they have bands, and it gets VERY packed by 11p. Place looks great inside and plenty of room as well (dance floor, ample seating and back area for more space). They've even placed a back deck the past couple of years if you need some fresh air! Trivia on Weds nights are pretty hardcore, but lots of good people and service is very good for the most part. Still not sure why they have Bud Select and not Bud Light/Budweiser....but plenty of other beer to enjoy. read more

If you are looking to pick up a cougar this place is for you. Not a fan of the red lighted/tint throughout the bar because it reminds me of the Korn music video Falling Away From Me. They do have live music on weekends and they have a pool for the people who live in the Edwards Farm Community during the day that is nice. Staff is very friendly. read more

I rented the party room at the Barn for my only sisters bridal shower on a Sunday early eve gathering. It was very pretty with lots of natural sunlight from all the windows, and the furniture pieces were in no need of hiding. Gorgeous for the room. Plenty of tables, clean linens, wood floors, and definitely quiet area to rent since they are not open on Sundays;) However, the customer service aspect... Not there. As if I'm not major stressed as it is to get the food and decor placed before the bride arrived, a mis communication occurred over how many bottles of champagne were ordered. (Not allowed to bring in your own alcohol and must rely on The Barn). I did not have enough provided and when I asked her about it , it was like I was watching my 2 year old have a temper tantrum. Had an argument (in front of my mother and brides future in laws. not cool), about how much SHE thought I needed. I've known my sister for 31 years, I know what she and her friends would want. I absolutely did not need that kind of speed bump in the middle of setting up a bridal shower. Was accommodated with wine from their bar with no apologies. Found myself apologizing to her! She was very pleasant until this incident too. I recommend the establishment ... But make certain anything you have ordered is exact! Which we did, but still was wrong. ( have to add..the young guy who was left to take care of our party was very helpful with ice and opening a stubborn bottle of champagne) read more

Love coming on Wednesdays for trivia...starts at 7:30pm, but you might want to get there a little early to make sure you get good seats. $4 You Call It Thursdays are great too - $4 drinks are never a bad thing. read more

Apart from the bands that play on Friday and Saturday night, this place is no bueno. One pool table that hasn't been maintained and the pool sticks are terrible. The ambiance is mediocre (the red lights are annoying). One urinal and the bathroom is always trashed. Great bar for an apartment/condo complex. Very "barn authentic" atmosphere with wood walls and floors and large exposed wood beams. They have created several different areas using differing styles of seating. Really helps to separate the room. It even has a fireplace with some couches. They occasionally have bands there which depending on the band can be good or bad. This time around the band was "Lt. Dan's New Legs" and they were excellent. They got everyone on their feet dancing and having a good time. One complaint is that they only serve Miller Lite on draft (no bud light, coors light, etc.). Not a deal breaker but would be nice to have more options. Service was great for me as they had a roaming waitress and I never had to get up to go get a drink. Would definitely recommend checking it out. Especially if there is a known/liked band there. read more

Oooooh The Barn. Not really sure where to begin on how to describe this place. I will just say the evening bar experience is superbly better than the weekend pool experience (which isn't saying much). I only consider going to this bar as I no longer live downtown and sometimes on the weekend I just don't feel like making the commute/crashing on a friends couch. Apparently the pool thinks they're some South Beach or Las Vegas place that warrants chicks wearing full-on makeup, heels, and oversized jewelry. As Courtney Kerr, from Most Eligible Dallas, explains, chicks should wear flat sandals or flip flops to the pool. A cover up buys you a wedge. But never stilettos. (I paraphrased, but that's the gist of her pool attire theory). Can't bring in your own alcohol. Super lame. I don't live in the apartments, but I live in the vicinity and had to call on a Sunday to have them turn the music down. Sunday is the day of rest (well in my case it was bar exam studying). Not clubbing at a pool no less. They did fulfill my request in a timely manner so I don't totally hate this place. read more

This place is extremely clean and has an upscale atmosphere. It's always packed on the weekends and the bands every Friday night are excellent. Drink portions are awesome, asked for a double shot of whiskey and I basically got a quadruple shot. Definitely making this my go-to bar on the weekends! read more

Finally made it out to The Barn. Holy bourbon! I was surprised they have Angels Envy. The fillet , Oscar style is out of this world good.
