Bought a groupon for a 90 minute session with Phil. The groupon was for 30 minute consultation and 60 minute massage including acupuncture/acupressure as needed. (See photo) When I called to schedule appointment, Phil said the appointment would be a 50 minutes of chatting/therapy session and the remaining time would be to discuss further treatment with purchasing supplements- WHAT? I paid for this groupon specifically because I have debilitating back pain and needed a massage. I do not need personal therapy or to give you more money to buy vitamins from you. When I told him that was not the groupon I purchased he told me I would have to "find someone else." I asked what he meant by that and he got very weird and short with me. I said so you won't refuse to redeem the services I paid for and that you advertised?? He got very rude, said he had to get off the phone and hung up on me. When my last acupuncturist who claimed to be a "Doctor" got upset because he said I was adding a different illness every week and that I was not in enough pain to justify coming in for treatments twice as he had suggested, that was it for me. I ended up canceling 18 appointments and never walked into his office ever again. I went to Alliance's webpage since I am on Medi-Cal and that is how I found Phil. I could not be any happier as he has taken up any of my health issues and believe me I have a lot of them. I usually write them down as it is just easier for me. I have what is called Essential tremors, seizures, and a possible stroke, he has not once shied about from any of my health issues. He has his own office with a nice waiting area. The bathroom is spic and span clean. He takes the time to explain what he is going to do to you and if there is a treatment you are not comfortable with it, you don't have to do it. For instance, I don't like needles under my feet or my chin so he doesn't do those areas. Because I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease I am always cold so I just remind him to turn the heating pad on the table up which he does and also the heating lamps. He lets me know that I am the Goddess and that I am in charge of my sessions with him. He has done some very awesome work on me. Very disappointed in this entire experience. As we came in for our deep tissue massage we were shocked by the horrible herbal smell. First I had to sit on a rolling stool because someone had broken his massage table. Then while he rubbed my shoulders he used a very strange pen like metal tool. He used no lotions or oils so it was a very uncomfortable feeling. He did do some accupunture and needles were sealed, but they were in a box on the floor, he didn't use alcohol wipes at all on me, and would pull out needles and move them to another spot touching them with his fingers and reinserting them. He also put them in thru my leggings. He only left them in a few minutes expecting them to instantly take away the pain in my back. Then he said he needed to draw blood from my ears to help with inflammation-so strange and it hurt. He talked about his healing program and all I could think was I wanted to get out of there. But the worst thing was the clutter and debris that was everywhere on the floor and had to move stuff to just sit. I just wanted to leave and we left after about an hr for both of us and we were both supposed to be having a 90 minute massage and Accupuncture session for our girls trip. Such a terrible Groupon purchase and he had great yelp reviews that I was sooo shocked about our "spa day". I have been seeing Phil for going on a year now, he is amazing at his job. Since this virus has started I will say he is doing everything to keep his office sterile, from the minute you walk in the door, he sprays door knobs, the furniture, and then he checks your temp.
