While living on the East Coast, I saw a Network Chiropractor for years. Years ago, I couldn't stand long and had difficulty walking due to pain because of protrusion on my lower vertebrates which I later learned, and I was advised to see him for healing work - 4x a week over several months. I felt significantly improved over time. Over the years, I continue to see any Network Chiropractor to adjust, align, and attune my spines - just like when you go for your car oil change whenever it is due. It's not just for the spine to be adjusted but it benefits the wholesome body, mind, and spirit as well. When I moved to Bay Area, believe it or not, there is hardly any Network Chiropractor in East Bay but a few in Peninsula Bay Area. I searched furthermore even to the Santa Cruz area, and I am beyond thrilled to find Dr. Bjorn's website. I live in the Fremont area and it's quite a commute for an appointment; nevertheless, it's always worth the time and drive after each session. Many times, when I felt my lower back tensed or misaligned a bit, the minute I lay on the table, it was uncomfortable for a few minutes-- but once Dr. Bjorn's hands lay on my back - scanning, feeling, and adjusting - the discomfort goes away after a few minutes. I used to have chronic neck pain, as well as other structural issues. After trying acupuncture (many docs), osteopathic manipulations, and many many chiropractors who used different approaches, I discovered Network Care. I have no idea how this works without wrenching and twisting and torquing the body (which can be painful as well as scary), but in most cases Dr. Bjorn uses a gentle touch and wants your body to learn new patterns. I really want to rate Dr. Bjorn on his therapeutic touch, but I cannot. I have no idea how good of a practitioner he is, because I can't afford his services. I say this, because he only offered me treatment if I agreed to buy a package of 66. That's right. 66. I met him at a New Leaf, and he was offering free posture analysis as a promotion for his clinic. Cool. I needed a new chiropractor anyway, and he was offering a good first visit deal. I saw him twice for posture analysis and to go over a treatment plan. To my surprise, though, he wouldn't adjust me without me first committing to 66 treatments. This cost came in at over $4000. When I asked what his per visit cost was if I were to pay as I go, he said he didn't do that. He then sent in his receptionist to start writing numbers on a sheet of paper, and to talk applying for care credit. This was seriously more uncomfortable, high pressured, and salesy than a car salesman or a telemarketer. Maybe this is par for the course, but I've never had a problem paying cash for my doctor, dentist, acupuncture, or Rolfing appointments as I've had them. read more

If you are looking for a gentle, real way to unlearn damaging habits, reintegrate parts of your body you thought were injured beyond repair, and receive holistic support for overall health--this is your place! I came to Dr. Bjorn with a huge amount of pain in my back, shoulders, hips, and neck due to misalignment in my spine and gross over-development on the right side of my body; an emotional memory of trauma that lived in my body; and a terrible sense of ungroundedness despite my happy life. Teaser: if you have these types of injuries, don't despair! All is not lost. Within just about 2 months of care, I could literally feel (with my hands) the direction of my vertebrae shifting back into line. I felt more at ease in my body. Pain diminished--it didn't disappear, but now I understand where it's coming from and how to deal with it. This place is a lovely sanctuary. Always super clean, calm, with wonderful music playing, hot tea. Unless you get a private session (which I would highly recommend at least once in a while if you can afford it), you're treated in a room with 4 or 5 people, who are being treated on other tables. It's absolutely not weird or annoying at all, always comfortable, and Dr. Bjorn is incredibly attentive. You should be aware that this style of chiropractic care is not "force correcting" and it a lot like yoga: you'll be asked to use to direct your breath into parts of your body, you'll by told to become aware of energy in your spine. If you're new to breath work, energetic new-agey stuff, just be open. It really does work wonders. Dr. Bjorn teaches you (or rather, leads you into teaching yourself) how to create new physical, mental, and emotional habits for better well-being. One of my favorite things about Dr. Bjorn is that he is a runner, so he understand athletes. I am a lifelong dancer, athlete, power yoga instructor, and weight lifter. Never once has be told me any of these things "caused" my injuries. His focus on what we can do now to let our bodies heal naturally. read more

Wonderful outcome! I began treatment after more than a (pandemic!) year of low back pain with occasional position-related leg symptoms due to a gradual slippage of a low lumbar disc on the one below it related to my osteoporosis, a stress injury causing a narrowing bone opening through which one of my nerves pass. From the first session (all non-manipulative) my pain clearly eased. I steadily regained function and an understanding of the integrity of the whole of the spine. Now eight months later, I welcome the surprise of the return of flexibility and smoothness of movement that I had forgotten I once had, fifteen years plus ago when a cervical disc protrusion caused months of limited activity and apparently, a not quite a return to full function. I have been getting adjusted by Dr Bjorn for several years now. I have always enjoyed a good manual adjustment, and was a little skeptical that a low force adjustment could make a lot of change, more is usually better right?
