I have been in the shop twice and was disappointed both times…read more On the first visit (during a Braselton Chocolate Walk), I met the owner who told me that she had originally wanted a more "cosmopolitan" and "New York" vibe for the place and emphasized her frequent travels to everywhere but the South. The message I got is that Braselton is a bit backwater for her taste. Kind of bizarre considering that the business (and her customer base) is located here. Also, with a name like "Naked South" I would expect some Southern offerings. None of their stock represents anything remotely local. Shops in Athens, Madison, etc. manage to represent local goods while remaining on-trend, so it can definitely be done. It would be nice to see that here. On my second visit, I tried to buy an item to give as a gift. The three employees in the store were so busy socializing with each other that they couldn't take the time to acknowledge me standing at the register, wallet in hand. I left without making a purchase and haven't been back since. The way I see it, this is a missed opportunity. The location is great and the layout, fixtures and finishes are really appealing. If they were earnest about providing customer service and represented the area it could be a great place to shop.

Think adorable afternoons with champagne and cupcakes while you shop. It's a fun place to browse and it always seems like everybody who both works and shops there is quick to smile or provide a compliment or suggestion about clothes or accessories. And the "babez" in the shop name, if pronounced "babies" (I really can't condone the use of "z" for making words plural or trendy) confirms the coo-worthy corner of cute clothing for the little ones. I'd suggest keeping up with their Facebook page for new inventory and upcoming salez. ;-)
