There USED to be a good selection of cheese, bread, and the typical accoutrements you'd expect. Live or work nearby? Swing by to see if you can get lucky. Props to the cashier for telling me the strawberries I was about to buy had a little mold, so we set those aside. (Which makes sense - there was SO much activity in the store that I'm sure staffers are more focused on closing the store than checking for expired items.) Want coffee? The in-store cafe was still open when I checked a few days ago, but if not, there's Thank You Thank You or Passero's nearby...

This visit I shared that the Ardmore location successfully assisted me in this process and I was turned away for the 2nd time - I was hopeful that the level of customer service would have improved but I was disappointed again! I enjoy all the offerings that DiBrunos offers (that is why they get the additional star) , but I will not return to this location again!

Not sure if she is the owner or partner; but, read the market honey! Someone is asking you a million questions , there is a line , said customer isn't buying ANYTHING, and I ask, "how much is this box" and you point your finger at me and tell me to "just wait" in a tone that you should NEVER use towards A long-standing CUSTOMER (or anyone quite frankly!). ok, I bought the box ... Gaetano! Canele'!…read more Gaetano was a previous yelp friend, ( you know the one with the pirate picture ) and I was fortunate enough to meet him in real life at the new year 'round farmer's market at the Piazza @Schmidt's, which is open every Saturday morning and early afternoon. His nickname is Gil and he has been very busy indeed with these little bites of heaven called a canele'. Gil introduced me to these delectable treats that are golden caramelized cakes on the outside and form a rich rum custard on the inside. The brass or copper fluted pans are coated with a thin layer of organic beeswax which helps to harden the outside, sort of like the topping a creme brulee would give and allows the rich custard to form its base within the center of the cake. This magical confection dates back hundreds of years from the Bordeaux region of France. Made from milk, eggs, butter, flour, rum, homemade vanilla, rum ( did I say that again ), sugar and a bit of orange zest, the custard batter is baked in a mold, giving the canelé a caramelized crust and custard like center. The Market Day Canele' makes them right here in Philadelphia when you can not get to Parisian patisseries or the Bordeaux region of France. They sell them at La Colombe at Rittenhouse, Pumpkin Market., sometimes Whole Foods on South Street has them, Clark Park Farmers Market, The Piazza and at Headhouse beginning in May. Folks can order them by contacting Gil@MarketDayCanele.com. My caneles' never made it home, but I can not wait to buy many more of these bite sized treasures to enjoy with an espresso, a cold glass of milk, a good wine or a glass of champagne. A gastronomical delight. I want a canele' or three right now!

If you want fresh ingredients and condiments that don't contain any hard-to-pronounce-bad-for-you chemicals, then please come to Condiment. Friendly owner Elizabeth explained to me how everything is freshly made and you can get daily "mix-ins" with the different condiments available. Mustard, ketchup, mayo, jellies/jams, and they also have pastries and fresh made butter! You can sample anything and the three things I did were great. The ketchup is meant to rival a super large ketchup producer and the taste is spot on to that brand. The strawberry and raspberry jams were outstanding from the small tastes I had. Elizabeth said they purchase a lot of their ingredients from the RTM including the Fair Food Farmstand. She also mentioned when I asked that the products will last for some time in the refrigerator. I'm certain they will be gone very soon at my house! You can purchase 8 or 16oz portions, and for a little more you can get a squeeze bottle. I got those and if I bring them back, they'll refill them (still have to pay, though)! I believe it is $6.99 for the 16oz size and another buck and change for the squeeze bottles. I'm so glad I work nearby. Hope they start a frequent buyer program...come to think of it, I wish the Valley Shepherd Creamery did, too. I'll be back. Definitely!

I love to come here after I have picked up steaks at a butcher and either get a butter that has herbs and other cool things in it or have them marinate my meat while I shop around. Yes, that is right, they will marinate your meat while you shop! Just buy your meat, bring it to Condiment, and they will put together a delicious marinade for you while you shop! Just pick it up before you leave and you are all set! I also really like their pot pies, roasted eggplant, and other pre-made items to grab for an easy meal. Their sauces, condiments, dips, and butters are so good, it is hard not to buy everything in sight! They are a little pricey, but it honestly is so worth it! Everything is so fresh and yummy. You can find almost any condiment here, and if you don't see it, the staff is so friendly and helpful, I feel like they would see what they could do to help. Absolutely a place to check out if you are in the area!
