The dental assistants/ hygienists are very nice and go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you are comfortable. They also explain every step of the procedure so you aren't left wondering what they are doing, which puts your mind at ease as they do the work. No surprises. They also do an awesome job with special needs children. I would highly recommend Dr. Rawa to everyone who wants great work and great people to work with you and your dental needs. I used to be very, very skeptical of dentists, but no more. I now drive over an hour to see Dr. Rawa and it is well worth every mile to get such a great dentist and quality work done as well.

We did the Invisalign and it corrected my bottom teeth (they moved after my wisdom teeth came in)....all but one tooth. We tried another round of Invisalign to move the one remaining tooth and it did not work. But Dr. Schratz wouldn't give up on me until I had a smile you would only see in a Tic-Tac commercial. He put a couple clear brace brackets on for 2 months and that did the trick. I share this because it just goes to show the dedication he has to his craft and to his patients. I also cannot tell you how kind and accommodating his staff are. His daughter Alison works the front desk and MJ is the orthodontist assistant. They are both professional and helpful. After I got my brace brackets on, MJ even called me the next day to make sure I was adjusting to them okay. I doubt you would find that outstanding customer care at other practices. If you are in the southwestern PA area and in need of orthodontia work, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not go to Dr. Walter Schratz. They are a solid 5-star practice.

After almost 4 years of pure dental hell-so many oral surgeries, I've lost count. Over and over…read moredental implants and bone grafts that kept failing and getting infected. Tens of thousands of dollars spent. So much pain that I've cried in despair thinking it would never get better. The emotional and physical trauma of it all. I had no choice because over a lifetime of grinding my teeth so that all the nerves were painfully exposed (I couldn't even drink a sip of cold water without near screaming pain), I finally as of today have a successful full mouth of permanent dental implants that look beautiful. Tonight, for the first time in about 30 years, I ate a meal like a normal person WITHOUT pain! If you're ever considering dental implants, know that they aren't as simple as the marketing suggests. There can be complications though not always. Be prepared for what might not be so simple. All in all, despite the trauma, expense, and pain, I'm happy with the ultimate outcome. The first visit,…read morethey said i had cavities that needed filled...ok...so I got them filled the same day....and they weren't filled smoothly!! I had to come back to get the filling smoothed out because they left a ridge and it was bothering my mouth!! they also said i needed MI paste (for $30 from them when online it's ~$15)....ok...so i got that as well not knowing it was something I could get outside of the office I had to come back in for deep cleaning. When i got there however and went through the process, the "deep cleaning" didn't seem like a deep cleaning at all. The initial cleaning the first day seemed more thorough and hurt longer. They did all four quadrants in one session, no novicaine (which if you've had a deep cleaning before...it HURTS.....I needed the nitrous oxide the last time I had one.....and it hurt for multiple weeks after as well when I went before). One of my friends that also has had deep cleanings also said that they're painful and hurt for days afterwards. This one instead didn't hurt except when i was poked a few times, and i was fine to eat/etc right afterwards. While getting the deep cleaning the hygenist (because I never saw the dentist except for the fillings when in the past I saw them for deep cleanings as well) said that my mouth was much better and that she thought the pockets (the reason for the deep cleaning) were probably false pockets, that my mouth was much better than the previous month, that I probably didn't need the deep cleaning and that no antibiotic would be needed...maybe if I came in next time I would need them. So I got a deep cleaning that I may not have needed, didn't feel like a deep cleaning, and set me back $900....in about an hour (they also usually take longer) Poor experiences multiple times... oh--and never met Carl.

They're definitely a great pair; I can only assume that I don't outright hate or fear going to the dentist as much as the average American because I've had relatively good experiences with these two. I won't even pretend that I've always been the best at taking care of my teeth (boy, was I a challenge to deal with when I had braces and did absolutely nothing in the ways of caring of my teeth!), but they don't hold it against me (openly anyway). These days though my visits are actually usually fast and pretty painless, with the occasional additional matter that requires a little more than a basic check-up. Whenever I come in the staff is always interested in hearing about new developments in my life, which is sweet of them. And the office, which isn't the biggest place in the world never seems too packed or noisy, which is a plus in my book considering that I can be a little stressed waiting for my appointment to start as I hope there isn't a new problem with my teeth. I definitely think this is a great little business run by a great pair of people, and I totally recommend this office to anyone in the area who's looking for a new dentist.

They also continuously lie about what needs done on your teeth, constantly finding new problems that weren't there before just to keep your braces on "just a few more weeks." We waited, we wanted to USE HIS Insurance benefits on his work. They never did it correctly so we had to pay the full sum out of pocket!! ‍ -After we spent $20,000 with DR K! -I believe ALL this occurred bc he had office staff that were embezzling? -Dr K called us asking if we could go to OUR Bank to get a copy of our $18,000.00 CHECK to see WHERE it was deposited! IT DID NOT GO IN HIS ACCOUNT! -It was DEPOSITED into an employee's Account. We went to our Branch Manager, then TOOK Banks copies to him, out of courtesy, kindness, as one should. -Still, Dr Kovacevic turned us over to collections for hubs work after we went out of our way to help. -I am unaware of what happened w his employee, the funds.
