Location: Hartselle, AL - DO NOT GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE…read more Connie made so many errors on my tax return that I had to get it amended by someone else. The owner, Cory Miller (https://twitter.com/CoryMillerCeo), completely ignored me and would not do the right thing and reimburse me for the late fees and interest I'm getting charged by the IRS DUE TO THEIR ERRORS. I went and saw Connie before the IRS deadline to get my taxes done. She continually made comments about how "you can't mess tax returns up with our system". She would try to continue to the next screen and the system would give her an error and she would say, "See? You can't mess it up!". I told her I expected to owe money. She finished and said, oh you are getting a 20k refund! I was confused and she asked me if I had done anything differently. I told her I had increased the payroll deductions on my paycheck and filed single instead of married. She said that was the reason and that I would be getting it in about 2 weeks. I owed taxes in Indiana and Ohio and she had no idea how to tell me to pay these and said I would need to look it up. I waited a week and then googled the state numbers to pay the taxes. I was told they had no record of me owning taxes. I called Connie and she said she had made a mistake and forgot to check a box but that she fixed it. A month later, I called and told her I had not received a refund and that I was concerned that there was an error since there had been an error made with the state taxes. I asked her to please look at the return and make sure there were no errors made. She said everything was perfect and it was just how the government was and I would need to continue to wait. A few days later, I got a letter in the mail from the IRS stating there were errors in my tax return, and that I OWED $4,800. I contacted Connie and she said she didn't know what the error was. She said the owner, Cory Miller, would need to help. I asked for updates daily and was continually told that Cory was ignoring her and she was on an island all by herself with no support. I asked for Cory's number and called/texted him. I received no response but the next day when I called Connie she said Cory had finally called her and confirmed that the error was that the system had pre-populated that I had paid 25k outside of payroll deductions to the IRS. She said it was accidentally overlooked it and she didn't know she needed to check it. She blamed her annual training. Because of their errors, I was charged interest, late fees and penalties by the IRS and received a bill from them. In my 20 years of filing taxes, I have never been late or owed penalties. I asked the owner to reimburse. I was completely ignored by Cory Miller and Connie confirmed he would not return her calls on the matter. This is terrible customer service. I felt so uncomfortable with how this was handled that I went to another tax service and had them review my return. I was informed that there were multiple careless errors in my tax return and it was recommended I file an amendment. The errors included: reporting 25k additional taxes paid, HSA contributed was reported as individual instead of family. The HSA was reported as additional income and this had to be removed, and I interest income was entered as additional taxes. This changed our amount owed drastically so that we only owe $1400 now instead of $4800. I had the entire return amended and resubmitted to the IRS. There seems to be a lack of competency. I am fearful for other people who have had taxes filed by Connie as there are likely errors and they have no idea that they may have overpaid the IRS. I will only see a CPA going forward and will never trust any business owned by Cory Miller (https://www.linkedin.com/in/corymillerceo).

I have nothing but problems with my tax return from 2019 after getting them done here…read more 1) The preparer, who was some sort of "surge support" for the tax season, didn't use the money I had paid for after school care as a deduction. *I* caught it later on. 2) Getting the amended return was another 3 trips down to their office. 3) The amount that I paid wasn't correct, as I found out when I logged onto irs.gov on 02 Nov 2021 and found that I owed $130+. For the prices they charge I expect someone competent.
