We stopped by Philly Pretzel Factory and ordered a pretzel dog and a mini pretzel to go. Both were pretty solid, the pretzels we got were fresh, hot, and straight from the oven, which was a nice surprise! The dough was soft on the inside, with a bit of crispiness on the outside--exactly how you'd want a pretzel to be. One thing I really liked was that they have a variety of sauces on the side you can pour onto your pretzel. I tried the honey mustard, and it was super tasty! I'm also looking forward to trying the cinnamon pretzel on my next visit. Overall, a good spot for a quick, warm snack--especially if you get a fresh batch like we did! read more

Place is an absolute joke. Definitely needs new management or just needs to burn the whole store down. Had a pickup order for 2 and got there at 1:57 and they hadn't started order yet. We ordered in advance was not ready as the same orders that were there was still not picked up wasted another half hour before our order was ready. Just looking at the same order still sitting there infuriated me. This is the worst phila pretzel factory I ever went to. The lady at the counter was miserable. Won't go there again. read more

On two different occasions, I ordered party trays and received terrible service. The first time, I ordered approximately 2 or more weeks in advance online. When I arrived to pick up my order, the woman who appears to be the store manager told me that they didn't have my order ready and that I should not have used the online system but should have called instead (even though Philly Pretzel obviously allows online ordering). She was rude and condescending about this, but then found my order within seconds once she looked on their computer. My order was eventually made but was about 1/2 hour late and caused me to run late for my event. Despite this I tried to give them a second chance. This time, I called and placed my order by phone over 1 week ahead of time and did not use the online system based on instruction from the last time. This time, the same manager was there and had my order listed, but it was again not ready on time. By the time my order was about 15 minutes late, I asked how much longer. The manager said it was in the oven. Pretzels then came out and were handed out to others, not my tray. I then checked again at about 25 minutes late. This time the manager said she did not know how much longer it would be and she cannot control what the workers do and the order they make things or how long it takes. This, of course, makes no sense for a manager. At this time, another woman chimed in that she was waiting for her tray too but hers was almost 1 hour late. I then asked the manager why this keeps happening, this being the second time with this issue. She said they are busy and that I just have to wait my turn. I asked what the purpose was then of my placing my order ahead of time. She said she cannot lock the doors and people who come in will get served anyway. I explained that if you have reservations for trays, you should decline walk ins so that people who ordered ahead of time get the service they expect. She replied she cannot do that because she does not own the store. She was extremely rude to me and essentially told me she would prefer to just refund my money and that I should just go get a tray at the grocery store instead - which I did. While I like Philly Pretzel, I will never use this store again. This manager is one of the worst customer service representatives I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend ordering from here for an event in particular as you may well be late. read more

I stopped by to see the store hours and the person working came out to let me know she would have pretzels ready in 15 minutes, the store didn't open for another 1.5 hours. I came back 20 minutes later and the pretzels were waiting for me. Great staff that are customer focused and making sure the product is perfect. Great store and will be back soon. read more

I ordered a tray an hour before a party - 11 AM and prepaid for said tray. I arrived at 11:10 to pickup my order. It was not ready. Figured it would be a minute. I got my pretzels at 11:45 AM because they didn't even have enough cooked to make a tray. While waiting a guy arrived for a 10 AM tray and was told that it wasn't made yet. She told him they don't make them ahead of time in case people don't show. I paid for the pretzels. If I don't show, throw them in the trash. There is really no reason to pre-order anything at this franchise. I have ordered at the franchise near my house and the tray is ready to go at my arrival. I live Philly pretzel factory generally but the Rio Grande location is a joke. Pretzel trays ordered in advance are never ready on time (tried 3 times). And the female worker we dealt with each time had a terrible attitude. I will never go to that location again. read more

Didn't even have to go inside before we were yelled at by a lady who works here. We parked in the public parking lot to go to the Escape Room on the property and got told to move our cars so they weren't in front of the shop because it was "busy". There wasn't a single customer inside the pretzel store. This lady didn't have customer service skills whatsoever and started calling our party names. Do not give these people your money. read more

Our son used to live in Philly, I know soft pretzels, and living in the South rarely get them - so I was excited to find this place. And they were decent - but i expected more. Like to be out of the oven warm, not under the warming lamp warm. And to taste a bit, well 'Fresher'. Again, out by of the oven fresh, not made this morning and it's now afternoon fresh. I am being generous with a 4, it's really a 3.5 and Yelp rounds up.... service ranked about where the pretzels did. Dips were pretty good, though - which is the extra rating round up! BUT - when your only business is pretzels, you need to be better than a 3. Or I'll just go to the frozen food section, buy a box, and cook them myself. Just sayin' ..... read more

I tried this location twice and was very dissapointed. I ordered rivets (a small box) the first time and they tasted stale and were solid. The second time I told my husband to make sure that were fresh ... which he did not. We ordered a large box and half were stale and hard as a rock. The other half was soft. Maybe once is a mistake, but twice is unacceptable. I guess I'll still to the Philly Pretzel Factories in Philly. If they are not fresh and have been sitting that long, don't sell it to me... it's just bad business. read more

I went to the Philly Pretzel Factory early this morning. There was a person in front of me but the young man that was working behind the counter immediately asked to help me. The store was immaculately clean and the staff was extremely friendly. The rivets were such a hit with my friends and family. I would definitely stop by again. read more

Loved the ice cream.. lemon blueberry, peach cobbler.. fantastic. Soft salted pretzels were delicious. Love the choice of toppings to go with. Only complaint is the service seemed a bit cranky. Being a Jersey girl I get it. But you may not!! read more

Really friendly staff, very good pretzels. It was our first experience and if we were local it would be hard not to go on a regular basis!

My first (and will be last) experience with this location of the Pretzel Factory was pretty disappointing. I go to place an order for a half tray of VARIETY rivets and the next day I go to pick it up and came out with a tray full of salty rivets. No variety. It was supposed to include poppy, salty, plain, sesame, garlic and everything pretzels. The lady who took my order was so miserable I almost felt like I was burden being there. I had a feeling the order wasn't going to be right and to no surprise it wasn't. The total was $28 dollars yet online it says it should have only been $20.00 so I assume I also got charged for the variety tray which I never got. This was supposed to be for my grandfathers 91st birthday. Very disappointed. read more

The young lady that is the manager is a pleasure to deal with. She always has a smile and will make you feel welcomed as a valued customer. The business is a different story. They NEVER honor any coupons that I bring in no matter where I get them from. I have taken in coupons from the corporate office and the owner has told me no she does not accept them. There are deals that are advertised for all Philly Pretzel Factory and when you go into the Rio Grande store the owner will tell you she is not participating. She seems to NEVER accept any thing that resembles a deal. The products are good and taste great, if you go in the morning, when the manager is there, recently the afternoon people, a young man and a young woman, have been selling product that is a little under cooked, and when you ask if it is possible to put the product back in the oven for a few minutes, they give you a nasty attitude and mumble under their breathe, so I only go in the morning when the manager is there. Honestly, if that manager ever leaves I think my trips to the Philly Pretzel Factory will STOP. The staff is nice and will usually try to make your experience at the store very pleasant. I would shop there more often if there was some type of appreciation shown to the returning regular customer. read more
