We had scones, mini cinnamon buns with cream cheese spread, and the butter cake should be illegal !!! We also had the sticky bun coffee that was delicious. This is over hyped. The staff this morning seemed highly annoyed. I ordered several items to get a real taste of how good this bakery is. The cookies are so dry. Same with the chocolate covered waffles. The iced coffee was meh not impressive at all. They are riding off the novelty of it looking like it's freshly canned for you. Same with the canned parfaits. It's novelty at best. Super tiny store front. Unless dry cookies and other treats are your thing. Skip. Not worth it. I spent too much to be this disappointed in what photographs well but is clearly a facade. read more

So happy I FINALLY got to try Barry's Buns last weekend when I was staying within walking distance in the Crest. I didn't get an opportunity to visit the location in Chestnut Hill. Only for Barry would I get my butt up before 7a to be one of the first people to open the joint. I was 7 or 8, I forget. The shop is a well-oiled machine! The line moved very quickly. I was impressed. I was out within 10 minutes of them opening. So smooth! The shop is super cute. Smaller than I would have expected from photos but it works. For the adults, I got 2 large iced cinnamon rolls, bismarks, and croinuts. For the kiddos I got a cup of small cinnamon rolls with a side of icing. For myself (since I was buying ), I got a piece of classic crumb cake, cider donut, and a lemon bar. The portions for everything was more than ample. Enough for two adults to share one. I'm a huge snob of those three items and I was blown away. Everything was delicious. The croinut was not my thing, but still good. I was interested in their cold brew but didn't think I would be coordinated enough to walk back with two boxes, a bag of goodies, and a drink in my hand. I opted for a can of La Columbe instead. We stopped while in the area for the fireman's convention. Picked up plenty of different items and one was more amazing than the next. The waffle "chips"...oh my deliciousness. And the homemade "pop tarts" might top the list. You simply can't go wrong with anything you try. The staff was so friendly and told us how they make their products. Highly recommend. read more

I've been trying to get here for about three summers now. They sell out quickly in the summer. Thank goodness for us this is a slow week down the shore and still preseason so we were able to get some buns yesterday! The shop is cute, super clean and stocked with buns and other sweet treats! We got a cinnamon bun, a piece of crumb cake, a maple bacon sticky bun and an apple crumb sticky bun. Everything was good! The cinnamon bun was my favorite followed by the crumb cake, apple crumb sticky bun and then the regular sticky bun, in that order. I am disturbed. Unsettled. My entire body convulses at the fact that there are people out there who do not rate Barry's Buns 5 stars. I don't consider myself an expert at much - stop putting yourself down Linguini you're worthy of love - but I am quite the aficionado when it comes to buns. These are the best of the best, don't leave Wildwood without giving them a test. Barry's Buns got bunzzz hunnnnn and they are better than any buns you'll see at the shore (smirk)... you'll understand if you're surfing the same wave I'm boogy boarding on. These babies can make your trip an instant grazing of your lower lip. Just the smell... mmmm get a whiff, nay just a sniff... and find yourself barking like a British bulldog. 7 AM - 1 PM, a line that wraps around streets, buildings, stop signs, cars, hearts.... Sticky Buns oh so sticky, unlike Vicky... yes these things are the opposite of icky. Cinnamon Buns that may make you a sinner so eat these in closed off territory. The price is extremely fair and it breaks my crispy and crusty soul to see people exclaim differently. These things are simply mega sized. Barry gives these buns a Brazilian lift. There's not a chance in the world I leave Wildwood without snagging a couple boxes on a random morning. P.S. Part 2: Your children aren't the biggest fans of you. Or maybe you've just blown the vacay at the shore. Or maybe you yelled at the kids last night. Get up early get on line and get them some buns for when they wake up. After much anticipation I finally had the opportunity to visit this business. I'm not fancy. I prefer just a plain old cinnamon bun with a nice heap of frosting on top, and that's what I got. I took it home, had breakfast, and was ready for something sweet. 40 seconds in the microwave and the icing on top was just starting to ooze over the edge. Perfect. While I did enjoy it, I can't help but to subtract a star due to the fact that there was very little of the cinnamon sugar mixture between the swirls of the bun. Finally made it! First off be sure to make sure you have the correct location. This one is open 7 days a week. The other is only only Thursday- Saturday. So much to pick from I wasn't sure where to start. I am not a fan of cream cheese icing but thankfully there were several without. The buns were soft, gooey and not too sweet. My family tried the iced ones and loved! They were reasonable 6 for $15. The cup of mini buns was a bit much $5. They also have many other baked goods. I had tried the babka before and wanted one to take home. They did not have any out but the man working brought one from the back and iced it right in front of me. RATING: 3.5 Stopped by here after passing it for breakfast and seeing a line. We were excited to see what we could try! So many options (see pictures) but we decided to go with two classics - cinnamon buns and sticky buns. They were good! Were they the best we've ever had? No. But would we go back because they were still good? Yes! We brought both home and following the warming directions on the to-go box so the icing was nice and melted and the buns were nice and warm. I never thought I'd say this, but the cinnamon bun had a bit too much icing on it. It was drowned in it to a point where I was wiping some off on the plate. Wow. Amazing all around. The staff was very friendly and had us wait outside after placing our order (they called our name). We also received the cinnamon buns right away but just had to wait for the sandwich, which came out freshly hot. It is a smaller place filled with great vibes. We really enjoyed this experience overall, as it was our first visit. They had multiple types of cinnamon buns: everything from maple bacon to walnut and more. This is an incredible addition to Wildwood Crest! My parents have had some goodies from Barry's in the spring, so I was excited to try them when I came down for the summer. Definitely get here early to have the best selection of delicious treats. For Father's Day breakfast, my family and I ordered the walnut sticky buns, sticky buns with cream cheese frosting and the chocolate babka. The babka would be a great treat to bring to a potluck or for a housewarming gift- so tasty and it lasts for a long time in an air tight container. Sticky buns are phenomenal with a little zap in the microwave too. Will definitely be back to sample some more treats in the future. read more

I am extremely happy with my first visit to Barry's Buns. After years of Cinnabon and random coffee shops, it was refreshing to try a tasty Cinnamon Bun. After looking at all the options beautifully on display I settled on the Apple Crumb Bun. The bun itself was truly amazing. It was just the right amount of sweetness (not overly sweet and processed). Located within the Bourse Food Hall, Barry's Buns has exceeded my expectations every single visit. Hands down, the best spot in the entire Food Hall. They have plenty of pastries, cookies, waffles, but are known for their cinnamon rolls (at least in my opinion). I really like that they are one of the only establishments open in the morning when the food hall opens. It is great to grab a pastry and a coffee and relax before the crowds come in. The Cinnamon roll, still dreaming about that massive piece of heaven we got. I saved mine until the morning and gave it a quick heat in the microwave and the icing was dreamy. The ooey, gooey frosting is to die for. The roll itself is sweet, as it should be, but so fluffy. I think we're going to be ordering these buns as birthday cakes in the near future. If I could eat one every day, I would. These delicious buns are topped with a healthy (okay, not at all healthy) serving of cream cheese frosting. YES PLEASE! Are you drooling yet? *Edit- we've gone back numerous times for these buns. Be sure to get there early because they do sell out! I grew up in Philly in the hospitality industry, so when I came home for a quick visit and heard the Bourse had been redone, I wanted to stop by. Unfortunately, at 8 AM, not a lot was open, but one of the open places was Barry's Buns! It's one of those places where you want one of everything. They looked delicious​ and they should charge for the smells. The Seasonal Sticky Bun was pumpkin, not be confused with the fall pumpkin spice craze; this had a pumpkin schmear throughout the fantastic, sweet, buttery, sticky bun with a dollop of frosting. So, a representative of Barry's Buns reached out and clarified the mishap i had with my minis and also offered a refund. I think that that level of attention to customer service is admirable and very rare. As such i decided to give them another shot since I work in the area anyway and since they consistently get good reviews. I figured that my situation was a one off or just a strange anomaly. Of all folks who recommend this spot, it was my CrossFit coach but man it was worth the calories! Barry's buns is not to be missed when it comes to breakfast pastries. The buns, the breakfast sandwiches and the nitro cold brew all exceeded my expectations. The service was above and beyond as well and the girls behind the counter were as kind and patient as can be. Barry's is known for their sticky buns, and they do not disappoint. They are nice and warm, so soft, and so delicious... sheer perfection. They are not so well known for cupcakes, but they should be. Their red velvet cupcake is the best red velvet cupcake I've ever tasted. It's topped with the most heavenly icing. Just as I was wishing there was even more icing as I ate it, I bite into the middle to find that there is more icing stuffed in the middle! That was a nice present that had me feeling like it was my birthday. I've also tried the Jewish apple cake, which was tasty as well. Move over Cinnabon because Barry got buns, Hon! Seriously, these cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever had. My favorite here is the autumn seasonal....which won't be around long. It's a cinnamon roll with pumpkin pie filling. Seriously, amazing. I spotted Barry here, and he told me his secret ingredient of what makes his baked good soooo much better than everybody else....get this..... It's butter!! Well, he's right. Much lesser bakeries take short cuts or try saving money by using shortening or margarine, which besides being more unhealthy than butter, tastes worse. And if you're indulging on baked goods, it's all about taste anyway. My only negative about this place is that buns are not always fresh out of the oven. I know, I'm difficult. So my tip is to ask for buns to be miicrowaved if they're not hot. Not ideal but an acceptable work around. Also bangin' here is the Jewish Apple Cake and the coffee! read more

But thanks to Barry's Buns in the newly renovated Bourse Food Hall, they helped me out! The other alternative was the Dairy Queen which was suppose to open at 11AM but was still closed when I got there. The spread at Barry's was amazing and mouth watering, and this is from a guy who isn't into desserts, I'm more of a savory guy. They had cupcakes, pies, a wide assortment of crumb cakes (blueberry, apple, etc.), cinnamon buns, and cookies, lots of cookies! I was looking forward to these buns forever! I finally bought a half dozen this weekend for 15.00 they looked amazing.. walnut raisin my absolute favorite. Sorry to say they were so DRY, I had to cut the bottom off and just eat the tops and yes I also tried to microwave them per instructions. Still DRY. It's not teamwork that makes the dream work at Barry's Buns, it's cinnamon - and trust me, their cinnamon rolls are a dream come true. The dough is delightful: soft & sticky; somewhere between a challah roll and a croissant, but the cinnamon is my favorite part, and if you're a cinnamon fanatic you'll agree. It's spicy & sweet and it coats each layer oh-so-carefully. (P.S. if you love this cinnamon - stop by Penzeys on your way out of the Bourse and pick up some China or Vietnamese cinnamon - WOW!) The cream cheese icing is another masterpiece, and fortunately most of their buns don a generous portion of it. It's soft & creamy and reminds me of my mom's favorite buttercream frosting. They sell small containers of it solo, and I highly recommend you treat yourself to one of these if your bun comes without. Aside from the cinnamon buns - which you MUST get - Barry's Buns always has an impressive display of cupcakes and cookies that look so perfectly crafted it's a little suspicious. :) read more
