7:15am on a Friday in the summer

First visit here. At 7:15am, as you drive along Pacific, there are just a few souls out and about. But as you near Britton's Gourmet Bakery the street becomes alive. We arrived at 7:15am to a line half way down the block from Britton's. And a glorious smell wafted down the block. It took us about40 minutes to entry the bakery, where we found 5 or 6 workers energetically filling customer orders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went right for the home run - a box full of apple fritters and a chocolate glazed donut for the road. They were delicious, sweet, gooey, and filling[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. This won't be the last time for us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Highly recommend the apple fritters![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I stopped by at around 7:30 AM. There was already a pretty long line, but it moved quickly and I was inside by 8:00. We got a bunch of different treats. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The apple fritters were very good[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], [[HIGHLIGHT]]everything else (cinnamon bun, frosted donuts, Boston cream donut) was just okay[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], with the exception that [[HIGHLIGHT]]the cruller actually tasted bad.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Me trying the Boston cream doughnut, which I was not happy with the cream for some reason tasted off inside

Just picked up our donuts for the first time after I take a couple bites of each I will let you know my full review. We arrived at 7:45 in the morning so everything should be super fresh hang onto your hat. I'll be back. four stars for now until I eat it and then I will give my other Star review when I'm done. The four star review for now is for the service which was very good. Sfogliatella was fresh and delicious the apple fritters were delicious. The strawberry and cheese thing was also good. We also ordered two Boston cream donuts to be fair. We are Boston cream fanatics for some reason the cream tasted a little off I thought so and also my partner, so that's two teas buds that also felt the cream was a little off, sorry but I'm gonna have to remove Star

They are usually great, but seriously skimping on ingredients for the holiday . There cinnamon buns are usually covered in nuts. IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT WORT WAITING IN LINE FOR AN HR

Stopped by on a Saturday morning while on vacation based on recommendations from locals. We arrived about five minutes after they opened thinking we could beat their infamous lines. Nope! The line was already out the door and a block long. They only take cash, so be prepared. There is an ATM inside though. Only 3 allowed with masks for COVID19. I ordered a bit of everything. My favorite is their old fashioned donuts- only a buck each. You can taste the freshness honestly, light and airy goodness. They have all kind of treats from sticky buns, apple fritters, bagels, danishes, muffins, donuts, coffee cakes and coffee. No hot chocolate though. Do yourself a favor and walk there! The parking is tight and well, after eating these calorie dense blobs of dough and sugar, you may even out nutritionally. I had a serious sugar rush followed by an immediate crash requiring a nap. And yes, was glad that I walked the 2.5 miles from our hotel.

Here at 7:30am on a Thursday. Only 3 people allowed inside

Food: 4.75 Out of 5 Talk about guilty pleasure! Their donut and pastry selection warmly invite you in as they glistened so nicely in their display boxes. I only intended on buying a couple treats, but of course that didn't happen. I ended up with half a dozen of donuts, two apple fritters, sticky buns, and two chocolate croissants! The donuts were a perfect pair with my coffee, light and a perfectly balance of sweet & savory. It felt like biting into a pillow of perfection! Service: 5 Out 5 Wonderful and friendly folks happy to explain and fulfill your needs. Environment: N/A Due to COVID-19 only a limited amount of guests are allowed in at a time and only a to go option. Overall: 5 Out of 5 You better bet I'm coming back for several half a dozen boxes for family and friends when I'm in the area! Bring cash! They do not take debit or credit cards.

Customer service wasn't as good as other reviews. Guess we got the angry bird out of the bunch. Would recommend to stick with the fritters. Doughnuts are not as good as we had hoped. The glazed ones tasted stale.

Variety of pastries - apple fritters, cream filled donut, crumb cake, blueberry cheese danish

We had to wait for 50 mins this morning, got there around 6:50. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Got a box of cinnamon buns (just came out so still hot) and a few other patreis.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The famous apple fritters were so good and earn the name![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Of course, the cinnamon buns were awesome, nice, and goooey![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Morning wait. I am told it's worth it but would be better with a cup of coffee in my hand.

Apple fritters at this bakery are amazing. Worth the 2hr drive to get here. Best fritter in NJ if not the east coast.

Only for Barry would I get my butt up before 7a to be one of the first people to open the joint. I was 7 or 8, I forget. The shop is a well-oiled machine! The line moved very quickly. I was impressed. I was out within 10 minutes of them opening. So smooth! The shop is super cute. Smaller than I would have expected from photos but it works. For the adults, I got 2 large iced cinnamon rolls, bismarks, and croinuts. For the kiddos I got a cup of small cinnamon rolls with a side of icing. For myself (since I was buying ), I got a piece of classic crumb cake, cider donut, and a lemon bar. The portions for everything was more than ample. Enough for two adults to share one. I'm a huge snob of those three items and I was blown away. Everything was delicious. The croinut was not my thing, but still good. I was interested in their cold brew but didn't think I would be coordinated enough to walk back with two boxes, a bag of goodies, and a drink in my hand. I opted for a can of La Columbe instead. Yummy! I hope they're able to find a spot again in the Philly area so I can visit more often. Until next time, Barry!

I spent too much to be this disappointed in what photographs well but is clearly a facade.
