I grew up just outside of Philadelphia, and these are the flavors I remember. Even though it's called "the Florida," this is the cheesesteak I grew up with. The Italian hoagie and cheese fries are spot-on as well. I'm sorry they had to drop the sausage sandwich from their menu, as this was another favorite from home. It actually doesn't look much from the inside either with a small window to order through. Once you get the food though you can see what the fuss is about. I had the Floridian with peppers, mushroom and onion with a side of fries. Fries are clearly homemade and of a very good standard. The thickest cut ones were just a shade off being done but very good. The Philly steak, I don't have much by way of reference as a Brit bar a few poor samplings at Hooters and other places but if this is what it tastes like normally then come back, all is forgiven. Very tasty, great flavor, great portion size, moist, filling. Fantastic. Will be going to sample a few more varieties in the near future. You won't get as much meat as some of the other joints, but the quality if much better. Don't get me wrong: the large size was PLENTY filling for a 230 pound guy who came in hungry. Order came up quickly and you could tell how fresh everything was. Big screen TV on the wall showing movies and sports, time-depending. Stopped in there today thanks to fellow yelpers and was happy with everything. The staff was friendly and offered recommendations on the menu. He also explained that they could change our order how ever we would like. The place is outfitted with various sports memorabilia and looks authentic. Had a HDTV playing Fast Five which was a nice distraction while waiting for the food. Speaking of the food, the reviews were right it is one of the better philly's you can get. It was made to order and I was happy to finish the whole sandwich. I thought the meat was a little low quality but I'm no expert so I could be off a bit. The fries were excellent as an added bonus. I wonder if they would do some chili fries for me next time? That would be awesome. Absolutely avoid. I had a craving for a cheesesteak. I'm not fussy or particular. I'm not from Philly. I'm no expert. Just wanted a savory cheesesteak sandwich. I should have turned and sped away. The first warning sign was the unenthusiastic waitress smoking a cigarette outside while scrolling her phone. I entered the store first before she decided she wanted to stop what she was doing and, oh...I don't know...show some customer service. She begrudgingly followed me inside and (the second warning sign) the place was D-I-R-T-Y. (She didn't wash her hands, that I noticed). Yuck. The floors looked worse than my auto mechanic shop (from which I just left, actually). The tables were smudgy and pasty from yesterday's service. And there is really weird, outdated memorabilia in old display cases. It's like an old, sad, confused auction waiting to happen. The third warning sign was no sign whatsoever of an offering of green peppers on the cheesesteak. It's just not offered! WTH?! The fourth warning sign was watching this guy pull out an ungloved handful of soggy-looking fries (were they frozen?) from a big white bucket. Gross. Just gross. The final insult was the taste of the fries and steak. It was nothing more than bland beef stroganoff beef on a steamed, soggy bun with fries that were grease filled and limp and soggy and GREY. The fries were grey. I even took it home to my husband who took one bite of the cheesesteak (I said nothing to him about the awfulness) and he put it down immediately and didn't retry. He did not like it either. Just don't waste your time here. These aren't cheesesteaks (to me). An over-produced franchise like Charlie's is better than this nightmare. Awful. Just awful. From the reviews, I expected an amazing cheesesteak, but I was underwhelmed. There were a few positives though. The Greek salad (with delicious homemade house dressing) was great, the fresh cut French fries amazing, and the food was decently priced and came out pretty fast. As for the Philly cheesesteak, the bread was great, but the flavor just wasn't there. It had a large amount of white cheese melted on it so that could have smothered the flavor a bit. Overall, I think your main product/namesake has to stand out and it just missed the mark. read more

Popped in here after driving by and getting to know my new area. The cashier (short haired blondish-brown haired lady) was rude to her staff and to me. Ordered an italian, which was amazing, despite the lack of professionalism given. I was going to sit and eat my sub, but after listening to the cashier b*tch and complain to her staff - and oh - not do anything else, by the way, I decided to take it to go. She begrudingly told the cook to make it a to-go order, who simply smiled and said "no problem". I was the only customer there at the time. Tables were clean. Ambiance was lacking. Happy to hear the cook tell me they also did delivery, so perhaps I'll give that a shot next time. Worse place and sandwich. Ordered a steak bomb and a steak and cheese. Bread was dry barely any steak skimped on cheese. They are extremely over priced manager has no want for customer satisfaction . Called them back right after i got home to tell them about my order was told they were closing and couldnt do anything about it that night told me they would talk to manager and have her call me back the following day when I did not receive my call back I called them a girl answered she said she would have sandwiches ready when I got there. When i got there to pick them up she says you have to pay for one and she was gonna have manager stop by. when she got there she did not care about what I had to say wouldn't refund me do to bad quality of my food she said she only will replace one of them I told her that its not right they could not fix my order last night because they told me they needed to close the store and we can fix it the next day which they did not do she had no care to put this right to keep a customer happy and coming back this place should be ashamed not only are they ripping people off with there pricing but the poor quality of food and lack of customer satisfaction If you want a good steak and cheese and better customer service Richies was good read more

The food is way over priced. Ordered a cuban sandwich and it wasn't even close to an authentic cuban this only had 2 slices of meat a pickle and cheese on regular bread for $10.00 . I have gotten a lot better cuban sandwich with a lot more meat on real cuban bread for half the price. I gave them a 2nd chance and got the Philly cheese steak. It had plenty of meat but it wasn't even close to a real Philly no peppers or onions and the wrong cheese on it. I will not go back again. read more

I had gone here a few years ago and was really disappointed with the service so I avoided it. I recently started working in Spring Hill and saw this place on my way home. I decided to give it another try. The food was just as good as I remember it. I love the sandwiches and the fries are great too. They're thick and actually taste like potatoes. The service is a bit slow (it took 20 minutes to get my sandwich and fries) so don't expect to get in and out really quickly. The food is well worth the wait in my opinion and this time the food was really fresh and hot. The service was a hundred times better this time. The guy behind the counter was really helpful and brought me some stuff to wrap my sandwich in and a bag and he stopped and chatted with me for a few minutes.
