    Painted Chickens...
    Laura H.

Good diner food is a passion; growing up in New Jersey will do that. Although able to forswear the mall hair, the desire for a great diner meal has remains. In this respect, you won't be disappointed in the Breakfast & Lunch Nook! The place is moderately small, but well staffed. Painted chickens on the wall made me happy and feel like this little family-owned place was decorated by them as well. I had the hot open roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on the side. At the first bite, I sighed in delight and happiness! The corn was fresh and tender, and the sandwich and mashers were out of this world. My friend had the spaghetti and meatballs with a roll and a side salad (iceberg-ly uninteresting, but fresh)--served hot, delicious, in a substantial portion and the meatballs were exceptional! The highlight was the homemade apple pie á la mode--a slab worthy of the name slab, with cinnamon baked onto the light, flaky crust, and a generous amount of vanilla ice cream along side. Our server was a delight (and she made me eat my veggies!), and almost all of the customers that came in were greeted by name, and some with hugs. Friendly, genuine and delicious. And worth every inexpensive penny! A wonderful find! CASH ONLY! Closed Monday. Tuesday-Saturday 7 am - 2 pm (breakfast ends at 11:30) Sunday (breakfast only) 7 am - 1:30 pm

    Cute little place

The bacon is good. My husband says the burger was about a 3 out of 5. So not bad. However don't let the name fool you. They don't serve breakfast the entire time! It's called Breakfast &Lunch not breakfast then lunch. Very disappointing. I have to eat a gluten free diet and breakfast is the easiest way to do so. I thought sure let's go to the place with breakfast in the name. Nope. They cleaned the egg skillet already and didn't want to have to wash it again‍ it was more than an hour to closing. She said they serve breakfast then lunch. So just be ready if you go to late don't expect breakfast. The service was a 3 out of 5. She didn't even try to suggest anything else. It felt like I was bothering her by coming there to spend my money. The girls all wear scrubs, which is a bit odd, maybe it's their signature??? With all the older people there though it felt a bit ominous. ‍

Stopped in for a late breakfast with my Dad. Good service and decent food at reasonable prices. I will certainly come back.

Service was great, but the food was basically bad hospital food. Bland, bland, bland. The coffee was also a big let down. Brown water.

I recommend the scrapple and, if you're a slow cooked grits kinda person like myself, you will NOT be disappointed with theirs.

Even though they were pretty busy at two in the afternoon we were seated promptly. We had a nice table by a window. Everything looked nice and clean at our table. Our waiter Chris came right away to get our beverage order. We always order their unsweetened iced tea with lemon. Very, good flavor, very fresh. You can order breakfast all day if that's your choice. Their menu choices are plentiful and varied. They did have a couple of new dishes for the holidays which looked enticing. I chose Cracker Barrel's Country Fried Steak with three sides. The steak was flavorful and tender. The portion size was ample. Fried to perfection and had plenty of their signature white Sawmill gravy. So delicious - a great treat. My sides were their Country Style Green Beans, Grits and Coleslaw. I don't know how they make their green beans but they taste great. I think they cook them with some bacon flavoring. Grits were fantastic as usual. I add extra butter to make them a creamy perfection. Their Coleslaw was my only slight disappointment - they lacked some seasoning for my taste buds. All in all another wonderful dining experience at a restaurant that embodies the welcoming country lifestyle. Their Country Store I could spend a fortune in is also part of the Cracker Barrel charm, I hope it never changes!

I bet most of us have, or had, a Nanny. A matronly figure in our lives who somehow earned the moniker, the nickname, Nanny. I know I did. That was my mother, to my kids. She loved being called Nannee. So, with that said, I already had a fondness for the place, before my Fav Fab One & I stepped in. Newbies, as it were. We were seated and greeted by the fabulous Crystal. Her eyes mesmerized through a gleeful palette of eyeshadow-y creativity. Funny how that ensured my Fab One, and I, that our Nanny stand-in du jour was gonna be fun. We found a mutual icebreaker. Now found, the nurturing Nanny-ness began. Picture this woman, Crystal, homing in on each diner with a GPS precision that magnified her magnificence. LOL Zooming by, then to a halt like a bridled and tied up thoroughbred. Fab One agreed we were watching 'greased' lightning (I love that one!). The woman I'm nuts about ordered The Landlovers BLT. She ordered bacon, folks! She is definitely a keeper! I enjoyed watching her enjoy her meal. As I munched on my Gyro Greek Omelette. A 3-egg 'egg roll' of Mediterranean might. Those slivers of Greek Gyro meat, the kind that is shaved off of a cone-shaped spire of blended meats. A masterpiece in meatology. Crystal slid in a cup of that oddly exotic Tzatziki sauce. White creamy concoction of cucumber, yogurt, garlic and more. Yum to the YUM. We also got the occasional maternal check-in from another wonder, named Chrissy. Hmmm, Crystal AND Chrissy. Sounds like a sitcom duo. She provided the appetizing background on Nanny's. Offerings of the day we might like to savor. Samples of carrot cake. Along with a batch of kindness. Yeah, we had a grand time. Our first time. Not likely to be a one-time wonder, either. Imagine that, just a turn signal's width off of 19. Put your signal on and turn, next time by. We gotta turn and return. A Nanny is there.

I had been here previously and loved the food and especially the good service but he had never been so I decided to treat him. We see now that there are new owners, and it is now actually called The Siren's Spoon! and the pictures will say everything. Their water bagels are fresh and crispy and absolutely delicious. Everything here is super fresh. I was very impressed by that. Give it a try-you won't be sorry. It's a small place. It's nothing fancy, but oh boy, let me tell you what- Chrissy is the best server I've seen in a long time for a Mom and Pop Place! I have a feeling this little gem is going to expanding and do very very well . Give it a try y'all. They have done some work inside the restaurant with some very cute aquatic themed silk prints and they have "Siren TV" which shows some cute mermaids holding different specials offered every day. But enough about the TV and all -that the food was spectacular. I had one of the best Mediterranean omelets I've ever had in my life! Swim on in and have a fabulous meal! ‍

My son and I went to breakfast - this restaurant is right next to Publix, so there's plenty of parking. Strip mall type of situation which I guess is why I've overlooked the place previously. Glad we didn't, today. The restaurant was packed!! Yet, we were able to get into the last table within a few minutes. As we sat, it seemed customer turn over was consistent too so I'm not sure anyone had a long wait. He got the ham Benny - it was delicious and big! He brought some home for later. I got Eric's Special - 2 eggs, 2 bacon, w sausage with fruit cup and a huge warm biscuit. I brought some home too. Coffee refilled several times. Put waiter was not only professional and really nice, but also funny. Apparently I have to go back and (properly) take pictures.
