Breakfast is my favorite meal out - love getting served starting off the day! Today was an ordinary day made special by ordering Eggs Benedict and coffee. Hubby ordered his usual - eggs over medium with bacon, toast and home fries. Our meals were prepared and served quickly. The only complaint I have is that the coffee cups are too small - almost half the size of other places. It was our first time at this location - the front is now fixed and no longer boarded up where damaged. read more

Painted chickens on the wall made me happy and feel like this little family-owned place was decorated by them as well. I had the hot open roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on the side. At the first bite, I sighed in delight and happiness! The corn was fresh and tender, and the sandwich and mashers were out of this world. My friend had the spaghetti and meatballs with a roll and a side salad (iceberg-ly uninteresting, but fresh)--served hot, delicious, in a substantial portion and the meatballs were exceptional! The highlight was the homemade apple pie á la mode--a slab worthy of the name slab, with cinnamon baked onto the light, flaky crust, and a generous amount of vanilla ice cream along side. Our server was a delight (and she made me eat my veggies!), and almost all of the customers that came in were greeted by name, and some with hugs. Friendly, genuine and delicious. Well, just like the others said this is a really homey little place. I came in and tried the special eggs and scrapple breakfast and it did not disappoint. The only thing is I wish the 2 pieces of scrapple were a little bigger because they were so good!!!! The waitress was warm and friendly. The bacon is good. My husband says the burger was about a 3 out of 5. So not bad. However don't let the name fool you. They don't serve breakfast the entire time! It's called Breakfast &Lunch not breakfast then lunch. Very disappointing. I have to eat a gluten free diet and breakfast is the easiest way to do so. I thought sure let's go to the place with breakfast in the name. Nope. They cleaned the egg skillet already and didn't want to have to wash it again‍ it was more than an hour to closing. I have to be honest, I can't review any of the food here. We had stopped in to try something new and was stopped dead in our tracks by a sign that explains they do not accept credit/debit cards. As a person of technology, we had to reluctantly leave as we did not have any cash. I was not going to the local store ATM and be charged 2.50 to use it just to have breakfast. This place was great!! Old school diner in a mostly senior/retired community. The food is simple, homemade, and takes me back to breakfast when I was a kid. Biscuits and gravy were delicious. Hash browns didn't have loads of onions, peppers or other stuff. And you can't beat the prices. read more

Meh, Located in the same strip mall as Publix near Spring Hill Dr. This is a small place for just Breakfast and Lunch. Service was very slow. Coffee was luke warm. Food was just ok. No big deal. Cracker Barrel and IHOP are better than this place and in Value. If you want great Breakfast in Spring Hill, Stick with Jersey Cafe. 1000 times better and the price is pretty much the same. read more

I wore my TRUMP for president shirt in for lunch I have never been so badly treated in this restaurant for over 20 years Trump supporters don't go here Well after 20 years I have had my last meal here I ordered the hamburger platter with lots of fries When it came she said the extra fries would be right out I said I did not order a side order of fries The new owner cam over and bitched me out and said I was rude. Food was nothing special. Waitstaff was pleasant (mostly - except for the standoffish woman who took our food order), but ultimately inefficient. Never figured out who our waitress really was - maybe they all work together? But had to ask a few different people for water. Asked random people for ketchup, etc. After our bill was dropped, that was the end of service. The place is also overcrowded with tables. 100% the real deal. My first time eating here today and oh boy am I glad we checked Yelp for a nearby suggestion. I recommend the scrapple and, if you're a slow cooked grits kinda person like myself, you will NOT be disappointed with theirs. The place was hopping on a mid Sunday morning...I do believe half of Spring Hill was either just finishing up, just sitting down or just arriving! We ordered the 2 egg w/ scrapple special and the Eggs Benedict (the hollandaise sauce was incredible!!!!). The food arrived quickly and we were impressed with the attention and service we received despite the busyness. Breakfast & Lunch Nook made me homesick as it reminded me of Glen's Dinette back home in Babylon...great simple fare, comfortable, family run, and a staff that knows most of the patrons by name but is sure to make the newcomer feel just as "at home" as the regular.
